some good production buildings from past events are the cider mill, fan shop, and beach bar. the first two are 2x3, and the beach bar is 3x2. each one has supplies for all six time options. I also like Sunken Treasures (another 2x3) for a combo of supplies at 4hrs and goods at 8hrs. I like them better than Sleigh Builders for a regular good production cycle.
L1 Cider Mills are just awesome for those supply production quests - best supplies output in the game until you can get Jumpin Pumpkins. (Blacksmiths are still useful if you need a few extra buildings and the quest does not specify an era.) There are better options for Goods production these days though, so Sleigh Builders are starting to become obsolete.
For a long time I had a lot of confectionaries in my cities for production quests as they were the smallest production that was levelable as I went up the ages, now it is jumpin pumpkins that I use. I didn't know the happiness trick with roads but will use it in my newest city, what I have in my SAT cities is single lane roads with a double road building/s that I demolish to create space to do do the quests
Happiness: I have a necropolis stored in my inventory for these type of quests. I usually build 1 necropolis, store it again and then get the rest of the happiness with roads. I get more store building kits than I use, so I use them on these type of quests. Rush production: It depends on the event. If it's an event where it's not important to finish the available quests ASAP then I don't use rushes. I also look up the quests on the wiki a day before to decide what type of productions I need to already start before the event starts. I don't have sleigh builders in my city because not all productions can be rushed. Instead I use 5 cidermills (lvl 1, current era). These give quite a lot of supplies. Especially for the lower eras these are OP. I'm in Titan myself, but they're still great. Besides cidermills I use blacksmiths, but overtime I'll be switching them with pumpkins as well.
That's 4 good tips, thanks. I didn't know that you gain happiness from roads when placing lower era ones, then just switch back and forth. Plus the fact that when building buildings for a quest is doesn't need to be connected to a road. A question for you, how do you have so many jumping pumpkins already since they are pretty new to the game?
Sorry for lag response. Re the pumpkins it’s because I went really deep on the fall event so make a ton of frags due to how many golden vineyards I have.
I store a special building after collecting and put it back for happiness. Usually golden crops because it has the most happiness of any special building.
Golden Crops is awesome for happiness. The Vibrant Autumn Vineyard is almost as good, but much too useful to interrupt and remove from my city (interrupting collection cycle). Some other older event buildings can also work (e.g. Winter Bakery), although not as good. I normally use a Necropolis instead (upgraded Graveyard), but in the late Space Ages it doesn't provide enough happiness to satisfy some of the "gain happiness" quests in just one step. If you have a PARTIALLY upgraded Graveyard and some upgrades in inventory though, placing the Graveyard in your city will gain a good amount of happiness, and then applying an upgrade will put the Graveyard back in your inventory for free :)
For happiness you can use the decorations from your current age. In the space ages they are 2x2 and build in 5 seconds. Of course use the build and delete method.
I would look for buying Confectionary's and Foberge Shops in the antiques dealer. Those don't need 2 lanes and they produce very well. And they are cheap to buy.
