Anyone who calls themselves music lovers and then dislike his music don't know the first thing about music, I'm 50 years old and through the years I had the pleasure of listening to some great voices but it has been worth waiting until now to hear the greatest of all. I cannot express how satisfying it is to finally hear things like...that his phrasing and delivery of a verse matches the lyrics perfectly...that his diction is clear enough that someone for whom mandarin is not a first language (if I understand correctly?) can understand perfectly what he is saying. As someone who has managed to learn the songs he sings in Italian, Kazakh, Russian, Ukrainian...I have hesitated to learn the Chinese for fear of compounding poor pronunciation if such were the case. She did a great job by giving background information about the songs. I really appreciate her. It took him a week and one day to learn the language and when he sang it it was about a girl that left Japan in 1942 into China. I believe she did radio she was well-known when she left because of the war something happened in China and people that knew her turned against her and China kicked her out and told her to go back to Japan. The man who sung the song was in love with her and he made this song for her she was still alive when she heard dimash sing it. I don't know much of the story but I believe the audience understood the song.

I cannot take it anymore”🤣🤣🤣 I feel you Max!!! I tear up every time I hear this song and don’t know a bit of Mandarin! I really look forward to your next Dimash reaction. There are so many songs to recommend, but I will suggest Daybreak (天亮了). Although I’ve heard his pronunciation is not as good, he delivers the song with such incredible emotion. You may be familiar with the Han Hong song based on her real life adoptive son’s experience of being lifted to safety by his parents before they died in a cable car accident. Many will recommend you watch the Gloria Wu version because it features the backstory and his performances from Singer (where he lost his voice prior to the performance) and his Bastau concert. While dramatic to see what happened on Singer, I think Bastau is one of his most emotional performances ever and suggest just watching that first as not to compare performances. Dimash seemingly becomes the child in the Bastau concert, it is one of my absolute favorite performances. Thanks again Max! 😊👍🏼

My favorite song and performance by Dimash It's not that he doesn't have other impressive performances out there. He does. He has so many that its unbelievably mind blowing. Yes he's pretty near perfect if not totally perfect. I certainly can't find a single flaw. But what's more is that he gives these flawless performances over and over and over again with every song. Moreover, every song is completely different and every song shows some new talent or skill or ability that Dimash has. It's incredible. But Autumn Strong is something special. It has made me cry so many times. And, it's not the lyrics and it's not the back story. It's purely his emotions with which he performs the song. It's the tone of his voice, the phasing, the changes in dynamics, the vocal cries, his eyes and hand movements his body language and his facial expressions The way he switches between low and high, breathy and full on strong vocals. To me it doesn't sound like different people singing or different voices. To me, it's different emotions. Like when your upset and you can go from sad quiet tears to desperate and pleading anguish. I love this performance! And he has many others that have brought me to tears as well. Just as you say, watching Dimash is like taking a Maser Class. There is so much to learn from him. And also, so much to experience!

I actually feel that it isn't relevant that he didn't win this competition. He achieved the maximum benefit you can achieve from participating in an event of this type. When you have talent of this magnitude, all you need is to be seen. He was able to perform in every episode and get maximum exposure from his participation. He became a sensation, got a recording contract, and toured. Win or lose, this was a big step in introducing him to the world. I, for one, am very grateful.

very nice analysis. you gave us different shade of Dimash's crafts, which he has so many... to me, All of his songs are compositions layered with so many colors. They are masterpiece each and every one. you must remove each layer to see what he's expressing. u can go deeper to see so much more in his composition. most of us see his vocal range but the way he uses it for each phrase is indeed a masterpiece. if u want to go deeper, listen to choices of instruments to bring out the emotions. There is little more I can add to comments here about Dimash and his talents, but having seen him perform Autumn Strong before, I wanted to thank you for your reaction and helping me to understand this performance better. This song is just one of my favorites and one of the ones I can't buy... When it comes to shows, I always say someone has to win and someone has to lose, that doesn't make him less talented, just that it wasn't in his favor. Look at Leonardo Dicaprio and his Oscar runs, he won for a movie which wasn't even his top 5, but his career has been excellent and only one Oscar. same case Jeff Goldblum great actor no Oscar as an actor got one nomination not as an actor and Idris Elba great actor nothing not even nominated... From the very start he touched my soul. Dimash has a special aura and with his epic voice I’am mesmerized. When I went to his first concert I felt like I was in the universe only with Dimash. Now that your starting your Dimash journey some tips :) its best to start your journey with "The Singer 2017" and continue along. 😊💜 Stay away from all the "Worlds Best" videos....they edited and chopped them to pieces and lied to him when he agreed to enter and he graciously bowed out when he found out they lied he would have to compete against young children (he asked at the beginning if he would - in Kazakhstan children are revered and honored and never put on a stage to compete against adults) they were quite nasty to him when he withdrew after finding out (even though he was winning). Also though it has the most views don't use the fancam version of Ogni Pietra as the audio is not good (cell phone) use the one from Dimash's channel. Enjoy your new journey. I was with you every step of the way. When I first saw a video of this song, my heart was just bursting. As soon as I saw that young lady with tears on her cheeks, I lost it. It was like she gave me permission to cry - this song moves me so much. I do not understand the language, but it doesn't matter. Later on, when I read the background of this song (how it was written and the beautiful woman it was written about), it did not take away anything of how I feel listening to Dimash's interpretation and expression of this beautiful song. Great reaction! I totally agree with you. I sow on youtube all the episodes of Singer 2017 with subtitles, of course. Dimash is on a different level. Before the final, if I remember well, in a short interview he says that he considers himself already a winner because he had the chance to sing with so many good singers and to learn so much. He mentioned that some of the competitors were older than his parents and were wellknown in China and for him, so young and unknown for the Chinese audiences, to win is simply to obtain so much support and appreciation from the public. The only reason he didn't win is because the judges said that he was too qualified because they couldn't put him in any genre," if they could have, "he would have won.They said he was the best singer.The owner of the program said that he was the best singer that he ever heard. Dimash is a humble young man who deeply loves God and he believes that one must live their life following Gods commands, most of all,"ones heart and soul must be pure". Dimash is loved all around the world, he has millions and millions of people who folow him from every country. When you see Dimash sing, and you watch how he delivers his song, this isn't Dimash acting, Dimash is the same off the stage as he is when he is on stage. Dimash has his masters degree in Composing, and lyrical writing,he is on his way to receiving his Doctorate. Dimash sings in approximatly --- Twelve languages, he plays piano, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, drums, the Dombra, and a few more instruments. Dimash speaks four languages fluently, after doing the show in 2017,he went back to school for language, he now speaks ---- Mandarin as well as English . I saw Dimash in New York at the Barclay center December 10th 2019. Best concert I have ever been to. Dimash is by far the best singer in the world, there has never been a singer like Dimash,and there never will be. The closest person that I could think of that didn't have a specific genre was Queens Freddy Mercury, back then jus band was still put in the rock genre. Dimash is a prodigy, a gift from God. I totally agree with you about dimash its exactly what in my opinion ...I don't understand also why he did not win the competition...is it language problem?! Because he sang in many different languages so maybe Or something sorry i just doubt in my small opinion ahaha....unbelievable but he is our best singer and will be most famous soonest....
