Rexer I really hope you bring this up. I even told the company this. Give me a reason to buy this. Put out Rare or Unique Arcade Ports that have never been ported. So I have a reason to want to buy this system. I hope you agree :)
We’ve already talked about this thing twice. Maybe the next time will be when it releases. But it’s funny that evereyonr is excited for ALPHA sF. Hahaha. These games have been available across a bunch of platforms already. Have they been living in a cave .

I just wish it was twice the size... my DMD on my Virtual Pinball is BIGGER than this! I wont pre order but am very interested in what others will think about it. Its not an arcade cab - more like Micro/Mini Arcade but will reserve my judgement until it comes out...

I honestly don't know what to think about this. I do think if i had a choice between this or a 1up CC i would take this. As far as the 8" screen size, I'm fine with that since i have no issues playing on a 7" switch oled screen. But i agree there are better ways to play these games
I like it , but not spending $250 on this. Wouldn’t ever play it. The switch you can carry it and move it around and walk with it. Much more comfortable and convenient to play.
I love the Alpha concept. I don't have the space for a full size or 3/4 unit and I want to buy officially licensed. The other options are limited so this works for me!
Why not get a fightstick and play 30th anniversary which has more games, online, play on your tv on bigger screen, play with better controls and better buttons, AND SAVE Money. I personally think you'll be disappointed playing fighting games on such a small panel as opposed to using really good buttons and sticks.

It’s like buying “knock offs” imo. The experience is actually more inconvenient with these things with nothing to gain. You want to play a different game , get up , find your cart , and put it in the console so you can play. If Its not true hardware, why do I care to do that. I’d rather stay seated and just switch games . Kevs knows he needs to stop. If they are your first introduction into retro gaming and emulation, then they are probably a good option. For the rest of us. No thanks.

Makes no sense. Plus thing is going to wobble , it’s not a good playing experience. It’s buying a gaming device to play the same games that you have a better way to play already.
I use controllers, fightsticks, and upright multicade. Any option will work, PS5, swtich, PC, Raspberry pi, Mister FPGA, Super Console X, Capcom stick.....etc.
Rexer, I wish I could've participated live in the chat as I think you might've appreciated my perspective on this new device. I first have to say, I was stupid enough to buy several of Arcade1Up's countercades (though fortunately, never at full price). They were all Namco ones, no fighting games, but even with the simple controls, they were garbage. The screens were SO BAD, with the larger ones having extreme washout and the smaller ones with HORRIBLE screen uniformity and discoloration. They were overpriced and poorly executed. The first two countercades I bought were actually twice the size of the ones Arcade1Up puts out now, but even at the larger size, the controls, if playing a game that required a button were still too squished together to be fun. Pac-Man with just the joystick was playable, but not great. I use them now as decoration to hide wires in my home theater setup, how depressing is that? I wish I would've never played them and kept the sticker that showed a screenshot of the game, because turning them on makes them look abysmal. Though countercades aren't for me, I do think the one Evercade is putting out looks better than anything Arcade1Up has put out. I don't think ANY countercade should sell for more than $100, but I do like what Evercade is doing here concept-wise. I like the concept of expanding a machine's game library with cartridges or a download online store. Back in the day, before Unico's Neo Geo machine, I pitched an idea to Arcade1Up requesting they make a Neo Geo 3/4 scale cabinet with a cartridge slot. I suggested it ship with one cartridge with 4 games and a swap-able marquee that reflected the games on the cart. They could then release the entire Neo Geo library this way, one cart at a time, each with 4 games, so one could get the ones they wanted without having to buy multiple machines. But this is Arcade1Up we're talking about, so I'm glad Unico stepped in and did Neo Geo right with a sizable library of 50 games. And though Unico wasn't able to sell expansions, which they said they wanted to do, but lost any further licensing, at least the Hylox soft mod allowed my Unico MVSX to get the entire Neo Geo arcade library. HOWEVER... One thing I don't know if you know about me is I prefer to purchase the games I play, licensed. I want companies to make all games available, and at a reasonable price. I also prefer plug n play solutions where I don't have to set anything up and can just get my game on. A lot of us emulate games, because they just aren't available any other way, and when it comes to arcade games on licensed 3/4 scale arcade machines, there are even less options in the grand scope of every arcade game ever made. Did you know, that only recently, the game Berzerk, for THE FIRST TIME, came out in a licensed form for home? New Wave Toys finally made it happen. How many years did I have to wait for that? And this is only in ONE format. And ever since consumer grade 3/4 scale arcade cabinets became available, I don't want to play arcade games on consoles anymore, even on big screens. I want to play in front of a machine with joysticks and buttons, like I remember from commercial arcades. And I know it's not 1 to 1 to commercial machines, but if it recreates enough of that magic, then it works well enough for me. So that brings me to the big word in the advertising for this new Evercade that wasn't really mentioned in this stream, Licensed. This is the way I want to play my games, paying for them legitimate (and hopefully vetted like they were on the iiRcade). And I get that the board you reference is probably the closest to the real deal as one can get at home, but I can tell you, I have played SO MANY games with just software emulation where I can't tell the difference. And that's what matters most to me at the end of the day. So I LOVE that a company is able to utilize the concept of expanding a machine's game library via a cartridge system. It's just not in a form factor that works for me right now. But, if Evercade could get this into a 3/4 scale machine, with the right amount of quality in all the places that matter, and with the games that I'm interested in, and enough of them, then we're talking. But since I don't have room in my Home Arcade for another 3/4 scale machine, it would have to beat out something I already have. Seeing as Evercade has secured a partnership with Capcom, if they could bring a 3/4 scale machine in a Big Blue format cabinet like Arcade1Up, with an expandable library of 30 to 50 Capcom games (including the 3 Darkstakers games that come on my A1Up Big Blue) then I could see myself ditching my A1Up for a superior Evercade machine. Same goes if Evercade could out do Arcade1Up in the 3/4 scale game with a Namco, Atari, or other publisher. I'd love to see this "game on" moment in this space and give Arcade1Up a run for their money. I don't think Evercade is too late to the game, but I wish someone would've implemented this concept to 3/4 scale machines a long time ago. I think a lot of us settled, because we wanted that full arcade experience at home with multiple machines now. Luckily, I didn't buy everything Arcade1Up was selling and mixed it up with other companies as well, choosing only the machines I felt were quality. Did I get a dud here and there in my journey, yes, but I think I made out pretty well and dodged many a shill bullet. Thanks for another cool stream and have a great one! vgv
It’s amazing to hear about the 1up countercades and the poor quality so many years later. Because they were the greatest thing from all the shills. I know licensing is a big deal for some people , and that’s fine. But if that is importsnt to someone, then they need to dispose of every single rom on any machine or hacked unit they have , that is unlicensed. People can’t say “I like this because it’s licensed “ yet play stolen Roms other devices. And as for “licensed emulation “ being the best , that’s not true . 1up Fd up street fighter when they came out. Sounds and emulation was missing and off, Galaga was way off, T2 was botched , KI messed up, blitz , mvsc2 , Frogger , even the most basic of games were messed up. And it’s not just 1up , Atgames has horrible emulation on their licensed products, and if the sega mini and others license had really bad emulation. There is almost nothing to gain from “licensed” products besides increased cost and feeling like you’re not stealing.
Rexer, You're absolutely right about licensed games. Just because a game is licensed, doesn't mean it's going to be good or better. That's why I miss a company like iiRcade, who had a team of people vetting each game to make sure they played, looked, sounded, and felt like they should. They rarely got it wrong, but that isn't the case with every game, or every company. I don't think there's anything wrong with playing games unlicensed, even if someone prefers to pay for their games. I think people should play the way they want and in any combination there of. If I would've waited for one of my favorite arcade games of all time, Berzerk, to release licensed, I would've been waiting for years without being able to play it. And even then when it finally did release, it was done in such a limited niche way that those who also love the game, might not want to play it in that format. And of course you know I wasn't going to wait any longer for all the players to figure out how to bring out a licensed Donkey Kong 3/4 scale machine. I'd still be waiting 😮💨 If companies can't figure out how to make these games accessible and reasonably priced, then I'm all for playing anyway you can. I think it's a balancing act for a lot of us. In a perfect world, I would able to purchase all the games I wanted and the companies selling these games would make sure everything was right before releasing them. That's not going to happen, of course. This is why I think free emulation is SO IMPORTANT. But if given the choice, if a company brings out a game I want, showing the proper respect to bring it out correctly, at a reasonable price, and on a platform I want to play it on, I'm going that route. But again, I'm not the game police and I want people to enjoy their games any way they choose. I don't think people who place a larger importance on purchasing licensed games should have to abandon free emulation, regardless of the reason. I hope that clarifies what I was trying to say. Rexer, Yeah, I'm in NO WAY going to buy one of these Evercade countercades 😅 I've learned my lesson with the Arcade1Up versions. This form factor is WAY TOO SMALL for me to have fun on. I actually bought 3 iiRcades, also did reviews on them if you're interested. I gave one of them to my brother. I still have a classic edition and I bought a Gold Edition, because I wanted the native play plug n play lightgun game ability. If 3/4 scale sized machines didn't exist, and the only home arcade product with simulated arcade controls were these countercades, then maybe they'd be stopgap before something better came along, but after owning these, and with all the better options available, I couldn't in good conscience recommend one except for a novelty, not to actually play on for any amount of time. And I definitely wouldn't recommend paying over $100 for one. vgv
And mega man wasn’t an arcade port . But some of the other games on there were . People like collecting stuff. Whether they need or not. They just want it. I’m over that at this point.
@@therexershow not sure if you mean mega man in general or the power fighters in this product? Because power fighters were mega man arcade machines the ones I see from my arcade which are just nes mega man games are especially dumb though as they werent arcade games to begin with lol
@@Bionicleforever you’re correct , I was more thinking that these were like the my arcade version games. I didn’t look at all the games. The mega man version has all arcade games now that I look at it. Only 2 mega man games but they are the arcade ports.
@@therexershow yea there really are only a handful of mega man themed arcade games and think these may be the only ones to have gotten localized so makes sense they are the only ones there. The myarcade ones look like shovelware trash from a perspective of a mega man fan where as these have some value as the first semi physical media english releases of these games with the arcade art on it. If I was an arcade enthusiast I would just buy a full sized thing though
If I’m going to spend 30 minutes playing SF, I’m either playing on my PS4 , on Fightcade on pc, or on my standup multicade. This is my last choice to how I want to play.
