O.k. some of you guys aren't getting it. These guys have always been and always will be a great punk band. They could have put a bunch of effects and stuff on the whole mix, but that's not punk rock. The problem is you guys are so use to these songs on the radio that they sound different to you. This is a great show. Art is as good as ever. This is what he's always done.
Everclear so much for the afterglow album helped me get thru the Navy recruit School. I listened to it every night for 3 months it allowed me to escape to another place. Thanx guys!!!!!!
doesn't make sense to me why any of you feel the need to comment about how bad they have gotten. Art's voice has obviously left him to some extent but they are still rocking out and they don't sound that bad. They killed their biggest hits, and the crowd clearly enjoyed it. That's all that matters.
I Agree, Also Giving That This Is From 2013 & Now SummerLand 2016, He's Still Rockin At 54.. He Helped Me Through So Much Shit In My Life.. Much Of My Shit Similar To His.
Thing is at least we get to see them for free on youtube.. His voice isn't what it was but then again he has been rocking for so long. They are my favorite band in the 90's. They still rock in concert. Let the haters hate and the true fans enjoy Everclear. I cannot stress it enough free concert with Everclear dam that is going to get me through the night. I have most of their albums I wish I get a copy of his first band colorfinger but hey it's on here too.
People commenting on Art's voice is kind of funny - because he was never a strong singer, he was an awesome song writer who captured imagination with lyrics, composed really catchy tunes and riffs that made for the perfect road trip sing-a-longs. Those saying "He's really lost his voice" - he never really had one, and that was kind of the appeal.
dude they signed to a major label as soon as they could and toured with Marcy effing Playground. Unlike I would suspect YOU, I was actually around when that band came out and can speak from experience, good band, very highly commercialized. You wouldn't know 'non-commercial' if it snuck up and bit you on the rear end
They came to Cali about 4-3 years ago and played at Magic mountain and they played sparkle and fade full record so fucking good tickets were only 10$ and it was a tiny theater
Everclear are one of my favourite all-time bands - a couple of their albums - So Much for the Afterglow in particular just never get old. I've seen them twice live in Australia though and both times i was disappointed. They rock out but Art's voice does NOT translate well to live performance, not for a whole concert. Love the guy, but really disappointing live sadly
Everclear rocks but that wasn't a great showing. Im in Austin, saw them 2012 and 2013; around the same time last summer this was played. They did play a good show here.
Nah not really - he's always been bad live i thought. great show, but he doesnt have a live voice - so husky that it just doesnt sound half as good. I saw them years ago, with their original line-up here in Melbourne and i was a bit disappointed with the show. They rocked out, but Art's voice has never been strong live IMO. I freakin love++ Everclear though.
I just saw them at the Summerland 21 tour. I walked out after their first song. I get it, the dude is 60, but damn. It was bad. Living Colour however, was absolutely incredible.
I do respect your opinion but i don´t agree with it.Green day, Colelctive Soul,Tom Waits, dylan, collide, the beach boys even Richie Kotzen made some musical commercial mistakes(yes i listen to all of them and more) so "living in a bubble" does no fit with me.but this guy speaks about things with a childish view no many artist do nowadays. Dealing with divorced parents, drugs, beeing poor, not having what you need to live etc.I can name 1000 bands more than they have to do somthn to keep on goin
Heroin Girl, not really childish content, and was their first single to reach platinum. The few tracks you're speaking of do have a child's viewpoint, but Art has pumped out record, after record stacked with serious, adult content, heroin, fucking, cheating, etc. Art is a brilliant writer, it's not as easy to put words ,to music as many people would like to believe. A serious under estimate, of the talent Art exhibits.
