Not Sure if it's mentioned somewhere, but with the legendary cards you don't shuffle them in your deck. You give each player a random legendary critter and a random legendary building card. These 2 cards don't count for your card hand total of 8 cards. (so everyone gets 1 of each at the start of the game). you don't shuffle them in the main deck
Beautiful game. I'm really hooked, but (un)fortunately I don't have enough kindeys to pay for everything I've just seen. I might go for the base game for starters, maybe, if I get the approval from my significant other. He's put an embargo on new board games entering the flat. :D Obviously I've heard of Everdell before and seen some playthroughs but I've discarded it as too cutesy. But now... I don't know, this Spirecrest exp. has bunnies! BUNNIES! It's no longer cutesy, now it's cuteness overload and I must have it... Must find kidneys... Perhaps a retina? :)
Hey Kristijan! Thanks for watching! It's a deceptively cutesy game (like Root!). The play is quite cognitive and certainly has that worker placement element of "you took my thing" both concerning the worker spaces (obviously), but also concerning the cards in the meadow! The rabbits are very cute! The problem I have with the expansions is that I like something in each of them, but there isn't one whole expansion that is clearly "The Best". I would start with just the base game; The Collector's Edition if you can find it! And if you love it then seek out the rest (Spirecrest first if you like the wandering bunnies!) - Mike
@@ReadySteadyPlay Thanks for replying, I wasn't expecting it to be honest :D Well, since I live in Croatia, and apparently it's cheaper to ship stuff to the Moon than here, I can get the Collector's edition of the base game for 120€, shipping included. That's a bit too much (just a bit) but there's someone in my city selling their copy of Everdell (regular) for 60€, played only once. So I might go for that... STill have to get the approval, though ;)
What I really want to see is someone play all 3 expansions together. Pearlbrook is an actual expansion while Spirecrest is a mostly seperate add-on. Bellfaire is playtested for both anyway. Fancy experimenting with it?
sorry to be so off topic but does someone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account? I stupidly lost my password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me.
@Ibrahim Bo thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Yeah, except as of now (2021, October 20) the 2 you mentioned are still unpublished. I'd call you Captain Obvious, but you're just Sargeant Nitpicky Toobusytocheckmyself
I think I am right in saying that you do not shuffle the Legendary cards into the main deck, if you want to play according to the rules. You distrubute them at the game set-up (I think 2 each? But maybe that's wrong).
I've used this video quite a lot to inform my recent purchases so I thank you for that! I still laugh at 59:43 every time hahaha. Yeah! Screw the viewer. You're the captain of this ship, damnit!
Greetings from Serbia ... Please write me which expansion to buy first ... in your opinion ... which is the best for the game ... thanks in advance ...
@@ertai222 this was a year ago, so yes I’m aware now that most cards aren’t laminated and are just sleeved. So there was no need for the first sentence unless you were just trying to make it seem like I didn’t know anything. Again, a year ago and it seems like you tried to throw shade?! Really? But thanks for the clarification.
Hi Jeremy! Thanks for watching! I actually double sleeved this game because of the Collector's Edition nature of it! I used Perfect Fit Inner Sleeves, and transparent Katana transparent sleeves. - Mike Perfect Fit - www.magicmadhouse.co.uk/kmc-perfect-size-sleeves-100-p35299 Katana Sleeves - www.magicmadhouse.co.uk/ultimate-guard-katana-sleeves-standard-size-transparent-100-p301522
Hi @@dubbeltje91! I had some FFG Mini European sleeves lying around that I used. They are a bit too long, but it's manageable because you don't really have to shuffle these cards. They are a perfect fit for width. You might be able to find a better fit for the length, but not the FFG Mini American sleeves; they are too narrow! Happy gaming, Mike Sleeves: www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/fantasy-flight-supply/products/mini-european-board-game-sleeves/
I bought Everdell retail version in early January as a present to self. During lockdown my son works in hospitality so we have many days ahead to enjoy new games. The retail version looks great although tree is good quality cardboard not wood but I’m very happy with way whole game looks just itching to play it now. I think games like this a great escape from a rather crazy world in middle of winter. 😊
Honestly, non. The base game is great and I see no need for what is essentially bloat. I was hoping the expansion would add to the main deck and don't see much point in them since they don't. I don't think any one of them offer enough to make them worth the asking price either. Everdell is one of my top 5 but these expansions are a total pass for me.
I've since bought both pearlbrook and spirecrest as well as extra extra and legends as my wife and I love everdell. 150+ plays total. I agree that base game everdell is the 'best' way to play. It's slick, interesting varied and balanced. Unless you are completely in love with everdell I wouldn't bother too much with expansions. That said, I really enjoy them all, they can make the game a bit more swingy on balance, and as said more bloated, but they do imho all add to the theme and feel of the game and add some variation. Extra extra is prob my least fave, legends we feel works great with pearlbrook (2 player: +2 spaces helps counteract pirate ship and fool assault in last round) havnt tried mixing all yet
@@superdux1997 good to know. It's actually not recommended to play pearlbrook with other expansions by the devs I've read. Base game is just too good on it's own but we all love upgrades. Been waiting for the pandemic to end and my income not be based on federal decisions etc but the plan is to get a resin 3d printer as they're dirt cheap these days and make some miniatures to replace the meeples. Maybe replace the punch board point tokens. Make standees for the mini card that go on the ever tree. 3d print some of those "open" signs.
You can play base game with Spirecrest & Bellfaire, or you can play base game with Pearlbrook & Bellfaire, but you can't play base game with all three expansions at once.
Christ not another one. It's Re-Sources not Re-Zorces. Would you say source or zorce? I don't care where you're from it's an S not a Z. If you say zorce instead of source then fine.
Most of the English-speaking world... including in England, where the language originated... pronounce the word as "ree-zorces", so suck it up, muppet.
