Dr. This is very passionate effort & appreciate your love for mountains. How did you take care of knees? Is climbing on mountain less harmful than stairs? Did you take back pack?

Stupendous effort. I am also doing the same and will complete by 28th April i.e in 20 days 1.25 hours daily with climb up and down by stairs. Roughly 200 floors daily

I think positive changes can occur in our lives as a direct result of facing an extreme challenge- like the present corona and I would like to name it as 'post-traumatic growth'. Here something to learn from a scientific mind determined to invent a solution to pass through this 'house arrest'.Its a lock-out and not a 'lock-up; most interesting is the interesting running commentary by the 'Everester' and also involving dear better half to the summit. Dr Nayak, you should have carried the National flag to the summit for a memorable summit selfie(since it was a solo climb). May such videos also carry the email id of the athlete (as done by Kirti in the last episode), Next should be a virtual climb for a potato couch like me, Mighty congrats Dr Nayak and most impressive is your scientific mind in simulating Everest climb by calculating the ht of the floors, and doing this 'marathon' in stages and also minding the calory intake. In our hoard for Climbathons and introducing competition to mountaineering or craze for records, in this lockdown, plan a climbathon by stairs in nearby buildings and fix a prize/medal for this too.

Incidentally, Dr Nayak, how u used to descent from your daily climbing up to the resting camps. Did u use the lift?
@drarunnayak
@drarunnayak 4 года назад
Yes.. I did take the lift.. my equivalent of rappelling down..😂 .. but more seriously, it was a token climb... I could have come down by stairs too.. but that's not good for the knees.... Thank you for your encouraging comments.

Dr Sahib. This exactly was my worry but since u r a Marathoner,I thought probably u wanted to test ur knees also. During my expdn in 1992 before commercialisation and piggyback carrying by sherpas started, Lukla had only a few small rests. and all purchases we made from Thamel(K Mandu) and Namche Bzr. Your example is worth copying and am fwdg ur videos en masse.

@@surjitpuri4839 wow..that's awesome to hear!!!! Respect to you Sir!!!🙏🙏🙏 Like I said at the end of my video, this is not easy but it compares nothing to the effort while we are climbing a real mountain!!! Nevertheless each one has their own 'Everest' to climb.. this was mine..🙏🙏🙏

@@drarunnayak Sir. Probably I have not been able to put it properly but I reiterate ur ingenuity in keeping in touch with Climbing even during this house arrest is a lesson in motivation to be emulated (in my just-finished article-'Climbing Higher Than Mountains: Mt Coronavirus'.Have to add ur invention in 'Things To Do During Lock-Up')Frankly its tougher to do your solo 'Race to Everest ' in a closed chamber than in the lap of nature and being pulled on a leash in the contemporary Everest climbing. Many yrs back had penned an article-' Everest Pvt Ltd Co' but my article never published by the Commercial Mountaineering Shops.
