Hey! Question about the CPL16: I would need to fit a Peak Design camera cube XS with a depth of 12 cm, considering also a 16-inch MacBook Pro (1.62 cm deep) in the laptop compartment, but I wouldn't want it all to be too tight. What do you guys think? Has someone tried this?
Hi there! I do not own that to test, but what I can share is that the EVERGOODS CAP2 height is ~14.5mm and if I were to position that sideways in the bag to represent the depth of that packing cube I was unable to close the zipper on bag. Also, a 16" MBP was in the laptop compartment during the test - but that has independent volume which did not impact the bag closing. Granted that the depth used in my test is slightly larger than what PD shows their dimensions as. Hope this helps!
I like your detailed review. However, I feel that the content can be prepared beforehand and the length of the review can be reduced. Will make it crisp and more efficient.
Yeah, I ended up pre-ordering this, with delivery expected at the end of October or early November 2024. This bag requires the user to purchase accessories due to its fewer organizational pockets compared to other 16L bags.
I'm still figuring out what accessories I'll need for my new EDC. I plan to give it a run for a few weeks to evaluate the exact pouches and accessories I need based on actual use-case. Do you have any recommendations? Thank you for your time and consideration.
for me, it was ONLY comfortable when high and tight. if not, it was most uncomfortable bag. main compartment holds like 12-13L and the bag is 3lbs. I wanted this build (I was wone of the ones asking for it in feedback last year), but overall miss for me. too short, too heavy, too limitted, too constrictive(Only high and tight able).
I find all their bags are best fitting when pulled high and tight. That's EVERGOODS thing, so that can't be too surprising but you are right that it is still heavy when you break it down in pounds per liter.
This is the best answer I can give. Below are the demensions for the laptop I have which has a little bit of wiggle room. Height: 0.64 inch Width: 14.09 inches Depth: 9.68 inches The depth might be the biggest concern…
Love the patch logo. Every daypack should have a single pen holder on the outside that doesn't require me to open anything. A tiny amount of Molle webbing as well.
Erick, how does the size compare to the Pakt 22 L bag ? I have the Pakt bag and I love the form factor and size. I feel it falls short in pockets (for my taste) and the exterior material is an absolute lint magnet and I hate that. Looking to buy something else. Did not like the goruck 16 L buckler Double Compartment and returned it. Looking at this bag as an option. Thank you for your content !
I don’t own any Pakt bags so I’m unable to provide you with any personal experience or information between the two. I’d definitely disagree that the 840d EVERGOODS uses attracts lint or hair. The older material did but the newer solution dyed material sheds dirt, debris and hair really well. If I get a Pakt bag, I may do a comparison.
Good review! Useful information and well presented. You have a new follower. I'm wondering between the ctb20 and this cpl16. I have a CPL24 v2 in blue that's for sale. It's both too big and too small. And a mpl22 that I like for the outdoors. I wonder if the ctb20 isn't too deep and kinda defeats the purpose of a smaller bag. Like you said in more crowded areas. Also this one fits the personal item size when flying.
Thanks for the sub! I think your decision paralysis is warranted. It’s tough to find ‘the right’ bag, especially when surrounded by so many options. I like the CTBs for travel. Depth isn’t changing too much there so it’s really just growing in length/height. It’s still a deep bag for 20L. I’ve yet to fly or travel with the CTB20 but 9/10 times I have only used the CTB26 for that need (CHZ26 as the alternate). The CPLs hit the sweet spot and I also find the 24L is often too big but also too small sometimes. The 16L is great for daily but I found it gets tight once you need a lunch or extra layers inside the bag. I think an 18L version of that really would have been 👌.
@@ECsEDC Thanks for the answer! Looking at the dimensions on their site, it seems that the biggest difference between ctb20 and cpl16 is in the depth of the bags (8.5" vs 6"). Width is the same at 11" and the height only differs 0.25". I tend to travel with another bag anyway. One bag travel is rarely needed and I have Osprey and Goruck for that. The EG harness isn't comfortable enough to carry the >7-10 kg. I was looking for a bag to take as a personal item and also walk around with at location. I used the Aer CPP for that on my last trip but found it too big on location. The EG MPL22 is a nice size, but annoying to be the personal item for my laptop and misses some admin organization as personal item.
