Evernham Motorsports 2007: A NASCAR Nightmarish Outcome

Evernham Motorsports looked to build on their incredible 2006 season and contend for the NASCAR Cup Series championship. Doing so with the Allstate Prince Charming and Bill Elliott's protege Kasey Kahne, the Rodney Childers led Scott Riggs, as well as an Elliott Sadler unrecognizable thanks to his weight loss journey in the offseason. From the tip of the NASCAR Iceberg, Ray Evernham's program looked to compete at the highest level of Auto Racing. Little did he or the team know that this would be one of the most disastrous seasons in NASCAR history. This is "Evernham Motorsports 2007: A NASCAR Nightmarish Outcome" here on NRF Productions.

I've seen Kahne getting called out for his talent, but that had nothing to do with it. He had one of the best rookie seasons ever and won 6 races in 2006 for a reason. The Evernham drama in 2007 really hurt his career. RPM was never ready to contend for a title and Hendrick stopped giving him good equipment after two years. He was very talented with a lot of bad circumstances.

I didn't really know this story since I started watching NASCAR in 2008 and I remember Kasey Kahne driving car 9 at the time. Dodge has been unlucky in NASCAR and his downfall began with this disaster although he said goodbye with a championship in 2012.

Always felt the 19 was the lame duck car for Evernham. Sure, Atwood was a flop, but when Mayfield started to win and got vocal about his team, that was it for them. Sadler could have had SOME success, but it wasn't there after 2004. As for Riggs joining them? Riggs was a talent in every division and COULD have been awesome had he had 1 year more in Nationwide, but never got a break. Kahne was always hit or miss as a talent, a good year followed by 2 rough ones every time.

I think the downfall was trying too hard to make Kahne a superstar. He had everything and rarely lived up to it. Jeremy Mayfield made chase in 2004 and 2005 in spite of evernham putting all resources on Kahne... what did he really do? Won some races here and there and floundered at Hendrick as well...
@BakaVHS
@BakaVHS 2 года назад
You just watched a 20 minute video about a race team that was determined to fail itself. Not really the driver's fault, considering the massive screw ups that tanked the entire organization. Then he moved to the ultra terrible evernham petty merge team, won a race with the less than stellar red bull team, and finally ended up at Hendrick with the same team and resources that Dale Jr, Mark Martin, and after himself William Byron consistently struggled to succeed in. You can blame Kahne if you wanna but the cool thing about sports is that we have all this data that shows that it would never really matter which driver was in the seats, they were destined for mediocrity.

You obviously don’t realize that this was NOT the only factory Dodge team. Or the only team running Dodges. You’re talking so fast as if you’re trying get the video under 20 minutes that glazed right over important facts. I guess you where late for T time 🤷‍♂️. The wheels fell off this team not Dodge. Dodge went on from this mess to win races with other drivers & yes team(s) and even a cup championship. And did quite well in the truck series to.
