Love this, before the car turns into the flats near the end, I lived in one of the flats above the shops the car passes at this time. I could see my flat in the court, if I remember rightly, the burnt area on the tarmac in the centre was done on bonfire night!, by the kids.I was engaged at the time, sadly we split up, this film brought back some happy and sad memories for me, a really nice film.
Me ninny and grandad Collins lived in 16b Springfield place,me mam,dad and me lived in Wilton street Bessie Braddock got us a house in two dogs huyton. I used to run away down to me ninnys I can still smell the salt fish ,getting bread and cakes from Scott's bakery. Great days I think we brought the first nits and fleas to huyton 😊
Its more Great Homer Street than Scottie Road but not far away! I was born and bred in the area and our church was the Friary Fox Street Liverpool 3 (St Mary of the angels)

Unfortunately the buildings that replaced where themselves badly built and poorly managed creating a downward spiral of accelerated decline. The young and mobile deserted the area, with significant numbers heading south to start over in London / South East or accepting rehousing options in new build satellite towns around Merseyside, many of which have become ghettos in need of regeneration today
