I used to be a off airport parking lot shuttle bus driver at Pittsburgh International Airport and this is 100% true. I almost got a ticket for disturbing the peace for honking my horn while a plane was taking off. I had to ask the cop to repeat what he said because I couldn't hear him over the jet engines.
