I had never realised that characters were reusd in the game cutscenes. I remember in Eternal Diva seeing characters in the background, such as Beluga, Babette, the clock shop owners. But I also noticed auxiliary characters such as Ward and Beatrice in ED too, but now I'm wondering if they were there as filler characters from references, or are there for the eagle eyed Layton fans to spot. Great video!!

Another lovely piece of retrospection for the Layton fandom :) At first I thought you were going to be pointing out animation flaws like in cartoons where certain parts of characters phase through something, or disappear and reappear, but what you made was much more interesting from a development point of view. I quite enjoyed it! Keep up the good work of keeping this fandom alive :D

I love the professor Layton series

I know it’s been a while since you posted this video, but here’s one for Miracle Mask. At the end of the game, in the cutscene that shows Layton and company leaving Monte d’Or, an almost bird’s eye view of the city is shown. While we can see a few landmarks, like the marquee and Tingly Town, the Reunion Inn cannot be seen. This is probably due to the fact that since you can only access it via tram in game, the developers haven’t actually determined where in the city it actually is, but it is odd that a building as tall as this one cannot be seen from above.

Man these cutscenes definitely aren’t as polished as I thought they were, but I think that’s still kinda charming in its own right heheh

Fun fact In the story so far after you beat the second puzzle you can see the beta tower in the background before the tower changed to the one we know

Just got to watch this video after letting it rot in my list hahah It might be my mistake for misinterpreting the newly added final cutscene, but I was a bit surprised that you didn't talk about Flora! I didn't notice any of the many errors you mentioned in your video, but the one thing that instantly stood out to me when rewatching the cutscenes was the following: When entering the Laytonmobile and leaving St. Mystere, Flora wears her PL1 beige/pale pink dress; when they arrive in London and Flora steps out of the Laytonmobile, she is now wearing her PL2/PL3 orange dress. It could be explained if St. Mystere was far enough from London that the trio had to stop at a hotel somewhere for the night, but... It doesn't seem like the trip should take that long, does it? Debate's open haha. Anyway, that's a great video, and a very informative one! Excellent job and congratulations for all your efforts, your dedication really shows.

Most of the "city isn't that big" ones I don't mind because I just kinda figured you're not seeing all of the town as you move through it just crucial parts. Also I thought Layton goes out the window with the paraglider? Still, how often the backgrounds are just constantly changing makes me feel crazy lol, how did I never notice this stuff?

I’m new to the series (last 6 months or so) but just finished Curious Village on DS and can’t wait to play the rest.

Has anyone else noticed that when replaying the chase sequence cutscene with layton and the old man in the bonus features, the music is mysteriously missing?

Do stylistic choices count as animation errors? Not to nitpick but we all know why Layton's hat stays on after he falls, even if it doesn't make sense in the real world.

6:19 i Found A error in you,if you see all the cutscene(Probably in the DS edition) you will see Don Paolo with a controller,he controlled the Wheel. So,you can't use your excuse to say "It would end up going STRAIGHT"
