The AMR with the DMR kit actually became my favorite AR in PD2 once the Little Friend got nerfed. That gun with the DMR kit absolutely murders specials, coupled with a secondary with decent ammo pick up, you've got an unbelievably strong combo for just about any type of build besides stealth and crit.
@@P1SM It was at the start of 2018. It was actually a flat nerf to ALL DMRs, and this included the Little Friend, wherein all of the DMRs got their pick-up rates heavily nerfed into the ground. Side note, the (honestly stupid) reason this was done was because of the AK/CAR DMR kits being incredibly OP, so instead of nerfing JUST the AK/CAR DMR kits, they instead do a flat nerf to ALL DMRs, even when a majority of them weren't OP (or even good). In my opinion, they should've actually BUFFED all the underperforming DMRs instead of giving a flat nerf to all of them, leaving almost all DMRs dead in the water trash guns. People constantly talk of weapon nerfs being needed but why the fuck nerf weapons when we can just buff the ones that underperform instead??? This isn't a PvP game, nerfs shouldn't be needed at ALL except in the most glaring of instances (like silencer perks back in the day). For a PvE game, buffing underperforming weapons, abilities, armors, etc should be the answer.
My favourite aspect to the Union 5.56 wasn't mentioned here, but is worth considering when choosing what AR to get: The Union 5.56 is not level-locked. It may seem trivial at first, but being able to use the Union immediately after triggering Infamy really helps get you back up there in terms of character levels, especially considering how many levels of Infamy players can now achieve.
@@yol_n Well no, Infamy levelling via pool is still a lot slower than the old method, so if you want to get infamy fast then this is still an important stat to consider
The union is one of the first guns I started to rock when I got payday. I'm still new to the game and am about to reach lvl 100 and go infamous for the first time. I was actually worried about this after I was reminded that level requirements for weapons were even a thing. I feel like I've got incredible luck when it comes to my weapon choice, as I picked up the lebensauger as my first sniper rifle just to try them out.
Galant have to be my favourite. After finaly reciving loooong overdue update to it's ammo pick up, this gun it's a blast to use with crits. Plus, surefire changing mag size form 8 to 23 is just magical ;) .
The Commando is great for early game stealth as you just need a suppressor that doesn't lower conceal and the heated treated body. Group this with the Gruber Kurz and you'll have pretty low concealment. Decent for early stealth with low conceal based on my experience playing PD2.
I tried using the tempest today and with surefire and crits, it outperforms the cav 9mm by a long shot. Sure it took more shots to kill a bulldozer, but it had more ammo in reserve, meaning that i didnt have to waste my entire mag and reserve ammo to kill 1 black dozer. Tempest also is able to use surefire, due to be able to have autofire.

Ever since they buffed ammo pickups for the 80+ damage rifles I find myself using the Eagle Heavy more often than before. Somethin about it just feels right to use.
Yea I have a smg rank video coming soon. I think I tested the jackal around 2. The high damage smgs arent the best, the hire fire rate ones are! And a couple of the akimbo ones of course
After video thoughts: I was spot on with my guesses, little friend is great for damage if accurate since high damage and with skills you can get enough ammo to last.
AMR 16 is definetly one of the best (atleast when you dont care about concealment), with use of some skills you can put it on 100 acc + 100 stability with both lower and higher dmg builds. It has excellent dmg and firerate which means you melt dozers easily even on highest difficulties. Ammo pickup is not great, but I think it got buffed some while ago and it is completly fine if you sometimes switch to the secondary weapon.
In my opinion since the update the M308 is the best one. The buffed ammo pickup plus it getting the concealment mod make it insane for both stoic and rogue builds where you need to get consistent kills to keep yourself alive
The Little Friend coz, well, ScarFace. Shame about the low ammo pick-up, but the grenade launcher gets the job done. The Valkyria AS Val because I also play S.T.A.L.K.E.R and that gun, along with its VSS Vintorez sibling, packing those weapons with 9x39mm SP-6 rounds makes you a world-class sniper that would put WidowMaker to shame. The Union 5.56 might be next for my list coz if it’s no.1 on this list, this might help me for future heists. I’m currently Infamy 1 at the moment, so it’ll be class to discover new gear.
@@b33croft just tried out the Union 5.56 earlier and it’s very good, it’ll be a bit hard to get used to the assault rifles again coz I mainly use the mini guns, but it’s all good since I’m able to sweep the floor with the Union 5.56. I also chose a couple attachments that’ll help with some firefights.
Never underestimate AMCAR. With dmr kit and perks, I somehow hit 100 accuracy and 100 stability in a 75 round gun. That paired with armour penetration perk and body expertise makes it a spawn killer on cook off!
Personal preference here, but I feel as if the Gewehr 3 should not be under estimated, as putting on the Assault Kit gives it more ammo than the 150 ammo guns (by 25 bullets 175 in total, more with fully loaded, I think like 218 if I remember right.) but the same damage as said 150 ammo guns, the reload on it while not the best of the best is still pretty nice. With the right skills and mods I was able to get it to 96 accuracy AND 96 stability, can get 100 on either too.

I was quite surprised that my baby, the Union 5.56 made it to the top of the list. Almost my favourite weapon in the entire game, second to the comically large spoon of gold
I knew the union would be at the top. Even if its stats werent nutty the fact that it has that fast reload and non existent recoil already makes it the most comfortable rifle in existence. Plus it looks fucking cool
Tbh I loved the AK.762 Even with poor ammo pick up it makes good DMG for a AR if you mod and built your skill perfectly, (accuracy and stability on 100) You can turn this weapon a laser beam DMR.
i will be quite straightforward : *i am French and i raise my chin about it* in that sense you might already know why i've purchased its Coin Ops skin with bonus stats from the get go :) yes the FAMAS / Clarion is my personal Favourite and i'm happy the gun wasn't done dirty at all my only heartbreaks lies within the FALcon, second personal favourite, not because of the sydney skin, but the sounds and damage stats it has And obviously the DMR-16 (yes i call it that), because well i do agree if you're too trigger happy you're gonna switch to your secondary more often than not, but its ability to *pacify* specials in higher difficulties feels special to me... I’m just wondering how much the shotguns would be changed since less rays being drawn would also mean less would be hit in theory, I hope it ends up being a non-issue with your ranking
honestly tho I prefer the galant over the M308, the differences are the galant has a significantly higher concealment (12 more at base), 2 more bullets in total cap but 2 less in the mag and a slightly slower fire and a slower fire rate but you won't really notice it that often unless you turn it to full auto instead of semi auto (which not a great idea imo)
I've been personally using the Queen's Wrath rifle on my Stoic Rifle build after I switched from LMGs, but I'll definitely try out some of the other weapons on this list when I get a chance!
So glad I switch to pc for this game used to play on Xbox one but got tired of getting left behind so I switched best part about it is my Xbox controller works on my PC so it's like I never left
The Falcon and the UAR kick ass in dodge builds, just tested these hoes in Overkill, I was blown away. *Maybe they perform a bit differently in Mayhem and over, but I can't be arsed to play above Overkill.* edit: Almost forgot the M308, the ammo might be a bit wank but it's not as bad as the AMR-16.
Valkyria with zerk + body expertise + crits is just a less straight version of Clarion (clarion overrated tbh) Oh, and putting sights on any rifle from AK family is a war crime
According the the definition from the start of the video, the Galant (ie. the M1 Garand) is not an assault rifle, as it is a) not select fire, and b) fires a full power rifle cartridge. It is technically a battle rifle, not an assault rifle.
I have always had a soft spot for the valkary rifle (As val) because of sokol he is my favorite heister and the weapon is so good and the reason I like him is because he plays hockey lmao

I’m gonna be that guy sooo….: The AK5 isn’t actually an AK platform gun, it’s actually based on the Swedish version of the FN FNC, which is also called the AK5.
Just so you know, the AK5 has nothing to do with the other AKs and is actually a variant of the Belgian FN FNC. AK5 Stand for "Automat karbin 5" which just means assault rifle five in swedish.

Yea my baby AK5 sits on number 2. Got great damage, concealment, 70 ish accuracy and 100 stability if done correctly. Union is my second favorite, AK5 got slightly better stats than the union for me.
With some skills the union becomes a laser beam with both 100 acc and stability, and not gonna lie i don't like it. Love the bootleg because it's everything i love about both LMGs and ARs plus it's satisfying to hit something with it since it's RoF is pretty low
@@ryanchong9965 hmm, ever tried ADS-ing? Or get close to the target? I never play DS loud so idk if some of these would work in DS or even DSOD. Headshots saves a lot of ammo, try going for those especially since a single headshot can usually kill anything other than specials (except cloakers) when you're using the bootleg
just so you know: it's possible to make the m308 have 100 acc 100 stab, while keeping both single fire and auto modes That with the 25 shot magazine (surefire) just shreds through specials (i was using a grenade launched as a secondary) mods are: competitors compensator, scope mount, LED combo, sight of choice, jaeger body skills needed: basic stable shot, aced steady grip, basic surefire
The fact that my favorite weapon in the entire game wasn't done dirty and even ended up at the top of the list fills me with indescribable joy. Also the Bootleg may be trash stat-wise, it is still stupid fun to use on a dodge build, but lost it's relevance when lmg were buffed.
The bootleg is really fun just because the LMG's are so op now that it shreds through enemys I think it kills enemys so fast that it's not even fun anymore.
The "Tactical Tuna" is also my go to AR, it never disappoints. I may use others for different purposes but for a straight run and gun it's the Union. I use the Car-4 a fair chunk as well but you can make that thing whatever you want it to be, that's kinda the point.
I'm really impressed with this video, and am off to try out some of these. I personally am attached to my Queen's Wrath. Which I modded to get 92 Stability plus Stable Shot to get 100 Stability overall. One weakness is the 4.5 reload time. But with the right skills and a speed pull mag I bring it down to a 1.7. It's definitely not the meta but it's my baby lol.
TBH, I'm surprised you placed the valkyria so high! I used it a ton before it's mag buff because I love the as-val, and I'm glad you thought highly of it ^^
Base Stats AK 7.62s aren't amazing, but I personally used them for the longest time because damage Some of the attachments really did help with it too, but the AK17 really did come in with some useful improvements out of the box.
Yeah, golden ak is my favourite AR Low rof, little reticle shake, combind with its high achivable stats(100/96 without supressors) make it a great combo for an ammo hungry secondary(like krink) + it just looks cool
When I choose an AR, I'm always stuck between the Lion's Roar, the M308, The AK5 and the Gecko before a loud heist. If you complete the sniper parts challenges for the Gecko and improve its accuracy as much as possible and make stability go 100 it shreds. I used the Union constantly when it was released, but it just wasnt fun or interesting after, you know? But I still have a kitted out Union for when I complete Infamy and need to level up.
Comment kinda aged poorly, Payday 2 when the game received updates had above 50k ppl average, these days is less than 15k 😂 Also, add the fact that Payday the heist barely has players and that Payday 3 failed miserably
Im so happy that the ARs got buffed. Should've gotten said buff a long time ago but still, fuckin awesome that some of em are more viable now. Also, fuck the Little Friend ammo nerf.
The Union 5.56 with a 5/7 to back it up is enough to get you through any mission up to Overkill with very little thinking required. Any other opinions will be punished harshly.
I actually used the AMR-16 for years. With the right attachments it really does clap pretty well. In reality though, the only reason i choose to pick it is cause of the classic M16 attachments that I'm a sucker for 😅
I recently started to use tempest on some low-con, crit build and I started to really enjoy it, especially because it has speed mag, and I don't have to really to use something like a vintage mag for low-con.
Well i have some issues with the list. I have no problem with the ak5 but on one down it's really painful to use, but still one of my favourite on any other difficulty. And btw most assault rifles can be modded to 100 accuracy and stability, but you have to experience a bit so that negates most ar-s downsides.
