I disagree, I think another thing he excels in is hand eye coordination. Hes a magician with his stick. I rarely ever see him make a mistake, when he controls the puck, his back hand to forehand is incredibly quick, yet he never loses it. Hes a litteral jedi, being able to tip in lightning fast shots, some of the best tip ins I've ever seen. Dunno if this makes sense, but if there were sword fights in the nhl using their sticks, he'd disarm and kill everybody.

Most goal scorers goals come from inside shots or tips with the occasional goal while breaking in. I'm guessing by your other comment that you don't understand that Matthews is one of the top players in the NHL

If he can finish with different competition and with different linemates consitently unlike ovi then it doesn’t really matter

@@thejuiceman1190 Matthews will never hit 100 points and may never even hit 90. Matthews is more like Stamkos, Kovalchuk, Rick Nash when they were young and they actually hit 50 goals before 23. McDavid: Almost 4 straight 100 pont seasons if not for Covid and would have been the ifrst since Jagr to do so. So McDavid is comparable to Jagr and Matthews is comparable to players that were never considered number 1 in the league lol.

Leaf fans calling him the best player in the league and best goal scorer when the reality is that he is more similar to Stamkos, Kovalchuk, Rick Nash when they were young than an Ovechkin, Crosby, McDavid. Stamkos, Kovalchuk, Nash were never considered to be #1 in the league but Matthews is because he is a Leaf. Matthews hasn't hit 50 goals and highest recorded point total is 80 and he is turning 23 in September. Stamkos, Kovalchuk, Nash all either had a 50 goal season by 23 or won a richard or both, so in reality they were better. Ovechkin, Crosby, McDavid all had multiple 100 point seasons by 23 too.
