I truly believe Steve couldn't lift Mjolirn in this scene because within himself he didn't truly feel worthy because of personal conflicts (as seen throughout all the other films), but attempted to lift it as part of the camaraderie. When he lifts it again Thanos, Mjolnir tends to him because in this circumstance it has everything to do with the absolute conviction Steve has about this "fight for humanity.
Your either worthy or you're not, there's no in-between. Steve didn't lift the hammer here out of consideration to Thor. He felt the hammer move and then backed out because he cares for his team.
@@Razbewy Again you're worthy or you're not it's that simple and the fact that it moved meant he was worthy but chose not to lift the hammer to not humiliate Thor.
@@animeman8203 being Worthy depends on the person who puts the spell on the item, in Thor love and thunder he literally made everyone available worthy, when you know goddang well none of them are. So it depends on Odin's sense of worthiness since he put the spell on it in the first place. At age of Ultron cap probably wasn't worthy because he didn't fit whenever criteria Odin had in mind because of what cap was mentally dealing with. Thanos forced him to that point, anything prior was him getting there. Like Thor wasn't originally worthy of the hammer in Thor 1 which debunks your claim of it being Worthy or not. He became worthy throughout the movie, just like Cap did in endgame.
During the party in which people are attempting to lift Mjölnir, everyone fails except Steve Rogers, who is able to move it slightly (you can see Thor's smile quickly disappear when he does). This is a reference to the fact that Rogers is one of the only humans who are considered worthy to wield Thor's Hammer, and does so in one of the comic books. During an interview, Joss Whedon implied that Rogers was fully capable of lifting Mjölnir, but pretended otherwise to spare Thor's feelings. This was proved true in Avengers: Endgame (2019) when Steve fully lifts Mjölnir and wields it.
Obviously I *could* be wrong here, but - I kinda feel like Cap wasn’t technically entirely worthy just yet because of the condemnation/guilt he felt towards the whole situation with his best friend murdering Tony’s parents. (This was before Civil War took place) N once Cap’s fight with Thanos took place, by that point the situation was laid to rest, Tony and him had made peace and that was no longer a “looming shadow” over his conscious. That singular issue I believe was thing holding him back from _actually_ being able to lift Jonathan in this scene. Just my own theory though.
Don't know if anyone has said this but it would be cool to see Scarlett Johansson return as a variant but with the Mjolnir since she is worthy in the comics
Cap could of picked it up easily cuz if you think about it how is he gonna be in the middle of endgame and attempting to call for it there it was to risky if it didn’t workout so I would like to think he had the ability to wield it the whole time lol
It wouldn’t really matter, because super strength isn’t really a factor in whether or not you’re worthy. They probably used it as a confidence booster, lmao
@@BlackDiamond2718 you are incorrect. Being exceptionally strong means nothing. The Hulk couldn't lift it when fighting Thor. If this was Stormbreaker then yes, being strong is the key. The enchantment on the hammer prevents anyone strong or not from lifting it if they are not worthy.
It's like an enchantment or something. "compassion, restraint, nobility, wisdom, and humility" are all required to be worthy because of the sheer power of the mjolnir. To use its powers without those aspects would make you unworthy to use it.
Tony using only the glove slightly annoys me. When lifting an object we kind of use our legs as a pivot. Wearing simply a glove never made any sense to me.
I don't like that hulk can't lift it because stan lee said hulk's strength is endless because his strength is based on his level of anger captain america just got strong from drugs or some shit like that genetic mutation or something
It doesn't have anything to do with strength. Besides, there was no angry Hulk. Just Bruce Banner. And Hulk isn't even worthy due to his rage. Cap can slightly lift it because he will be worthy.
