"99% gacha players quit before getting their wanted character" is what I told myself before sinking my whole savings for Sad Cat V2. Sunk-cost fallacy is also real
Sunk-cost fallacy is quite an interesting concept. Our brains have that way of convincing ourselves that “because I’ve invested a lot of resources into X, the result of Y should come out soon“ when it probably is realistically not going to happen. But yes, Sad Cat 2 Electric Boogaloo is great :)
Jessica alter? That's literally what happened to me. I have to pull until I reach 150 pity which guarantees the featured operator, when you pull a 6-star. I remember spending 170 pulls just to get the sad Cat.
tips from me (even I'm new player too): use support operator for every stage and send them friend request as much as you can because in early game they provide you with high level operator from end game player so you can borrow many high level support operator later
Friend supports are great to use in general if you don’t particularly need a good auto-deploy for that stage, also for clearing challenge mode stages and other more difficult maps.
Another more complicated tip: Feel free to use support units to beat stages. Some recommendations for which units to borrow: If you do not have an E2 operator yet (I assume you at least have an E1 operator), then operators you borrow are capped at E1. Hence: Mountain is a great laneholder - he deals consistent high damage and heals himself, once you've deployed him for only 5 seconds. Dorothy can consistently do great Physical DPS against low defense enemies, and also has mines you can deploy to bind enemies, serving as a great panic button. Exusiai is even better, but lacks the mines; but she'll prioritize flying enemies so she's great in those stages. Typhon can consistently do a ton of Physical damage, even against high defense enemies, though she shines best against middling defense enemies. Eyjafjalla is a good consistent source of Arts damage, and is also jokingly called the best AoE Caster despite being in the Single Target Caster branch. Eyjafjalla the Hvit Aska is maybe the best medic. Hoshiguma tanks, really well. Texas Alter and Kirin R Yato are great sources of on-demand Arts and Physical damage respectively. They have reduced Reployment Time, allowing you to deploy them to assassinate someone, retreat them, and instantly deploy them again. Saga is great if you need DP. If you have an E2 operator already, those suggestions are still good (though, if the Mountain or Eyjafjalla you're borrowing are on their skill 3, they play out very differently), but you can also look to Chen the Holungday, a Sniper who shreds all enemies within her great range, Goldenglow, whose skill has infinite range, Ling, who can utilize summons to solo stages, Chongyue, Thorns, and Blaze are all great substitutes for Mountain who do things slightly differently. Mudrock and Penance are pretty expensive but they're basically Mountain but stronger Bagpipe is great if you need DP, and you're bringing other Vanguards, Surtr can shred enemies and has insane survivability, but loses health over time, and Mlynar deals an insane amount of damage, at the cost of doing nothing when his skill isn't active.
honestly, I wish that I go to watch these type of content earlier. It would be so much easier for me so that I don't waste my resources on carnilian or something like that. anyway, good video, keep up the work
If you like Carnelian, she's worth it. Don't let the clowns that tell you she's bad put you off using her, sure she can be pretty hard to use and outperformed by other operators, but she's a good caster, and can take hits
I usually farm the lmd stages when I need to because I never have enough lmd (and I'm not spending $10) and I've already squeezed out every other potential source for obtaining them. The sanity cost is rather high, yeah, but frankly when you're impatient and don't really have other options I usually burn my sanity just to grind for them.
Hiya for LMD, the generally accepted method is also to farm it thru the base, using the gold instead of trying to farm for orudumn, it’s sanity free as well instead of you spending sanity elsewhere. Events also offer LMD at a better rate so do those when they come along 😊🙏, all the best in your grind though!
I usually get 50k lmd per day just from the base, and this is with the most barebones of optimization (getting ops with good base skills like tequila and bibeak to e2). By the time im done spending sanity to get the drop materials needed to upgrade an op i the base already give me enough to cover the cost. Unless youre adamant on upgrading everyone with a pair of boobs once every 3 days lmd is quite literally free money you conjure out of thin air
@@110montauk8 I typically try to hard focus on upgrading one character as quickly as I can, including M3 skills and modules, so I end up burning my lmd pretty quickly. Which I'm ashamed to say is ironic since I also admittedly don't optimize my lmd production (I just throw whoever fits) and I get closer to about 25k-30k a day from the base. I'm well aware that it's very inefficient but honestly I'm just very impatient on making my characters strong. It also gets me through my daily sanity quickly if I don't have much time to spend, but honestly I should start looking up how to grind lmd better.
I like how you talk about pause screen skill activation while using Mostima S2. this is a very nice vid. the tips are short but on point. the explanation clarifies what newbie need to know without feeding them too much information and overwhelm them. it is nice to see good Arknights content creator
The motivation for this video comes from my current most viewed video (5 Arknights Tips I Wish I Knew Starting Out). Every time I see the video's thumbnail, I cringe a bit on the inside. So what better way to remedy that by making another video with an equally scuffed thumbnail.
A squad based game, based on Ling. Also don't think you mentioned Pause Deploy? Which done by dragging out an operator and using the device/emulator back button while you are still holding onto the operator. This is a bit excessive but it's Contingency Contract season right now so it might help!
Doesn't even have to be pause deploy itself. Just pause-gaming in general is a nice habit to build. It allows one to keep pace with the map and make snap-commands.
Maybe we can consider mentioning about deployment order as well, with ranged units being deployed first and subsequently the melee units so that they'll be targeted first in most cases
New player here, been playing for like 5 days and I've done like 20 pulls on kernel. Why is the kernel banner a scam? I thought it was fine to pull on it to get the 5+ star within my first 10 pulls.
@@rolo1310 I'd pull to the guaranteed 5*+ but only on banners that arent kernel banners + have ops you want. The kernel banner only has any value for getting new units, which are mostly old and some powercrept. Also the blue certs you get are kinda bad since the blue cert shop sux and you aren't getting any distinctions, and the distinction shop is far better. Tbh 'x bad y good' isn't really a proper answer but you can kinda tell it isn't as good just by looking. Also there's plenty of other ways to obtain distinctions and green certs, mainly recruits, then you can further use those green certs to buy pulls, recruits for more distinctions/green certs, mats, you get it. Kernel banner ONLY gives blue certs (you cannot buy normal pulls with it) and basically forces you to miss out on new ops if you pull on it. Not worth at all. Especially as hg dials up the powercreep, and the obscene cost to spark a limited 6 star which only got the oldest 2 reduced from 300 to 200 after 5 years.
Base Tips there a lot style of base which usually common that player made are Trading Post | Factory | Power Plant 2 - 4 - 3 3 - 3 - 3 1 - 5 - 3 2 - 5 - 2 (is there more? i dont remember) Each setup has its pros and cons, but I don't recommend that new players focus on base first. It complicated. I recommend it when you have time to learn and resources to build that suits your daily gameplay style. There's a lot of people making guides for base. Lastly, base is Really important ngl PS: I use 2 - 4 - 3, I don't usually have time to play, which I do only 2 or 3 times per day. It suits me because I still get enough LMD and EXP tickets every day without needing to check base and swap operator. Both of the trading posts I set to LMD and 2 EXP factory and 2 gold bar factory. which for me is good because I don't run out of gold bar and EXP is also enough without needing to farm the LS stage. Thats why the video said the LS and CE stages are not worth it because you can get them on base, so it's better to use sanity to farm for material, chip, or red cert. Also, yeah, I don't make orundum farms; I only do it when I'm desperate to pull, but it took my whole day of my irl sanity just to farm rock tho If anyone wants to argue about my preferences of my base as I said, it suits me, not you.
5:35 "You might have already figured that out" I never did 😢 Thanks for showing that useful feature! I'm level 60 and i'm surprised that i didn't noticed something like that, i def lost many opportunitys but glad to know annihilation exist!
I know it's for simplicity sake, but there are couole things I wanna add 8.) Yellow-Certs part For me, 38 pulls for 258 Yellow-certs is not a really good deals it won't guarantee you a 6 stars operators, let alone the new/rate-on one. I prefer to buy the an operator since it guarantee you new operator, even though the weakness from this thing is the fact you couldn't get newer operator (that are META) 9.) How to get Certs There is a mad way to get certs that I personally Iike to use if I don't have operator to build. It's by freaking farm Red-Certs & buy Red-Certs operators, get their duplicate + Green/Yellow-Certs. But I recommend to just buy the 5 stars one so that you can buy 6 stars operators. You don't want to do this, if you're a newbie. Since I said earlier "if I don't have operator to build". But you guys still has a long way to build your actual roaster 12.) Annihilation Please increases your Orundum cap ASAP. Don't let that "no guide" rule stopping you from clearing this. 300 Orundum/week may be small but you don't want to waste such currency jusy because you're lazy or stone-headed 15.) Base You can find & make your own set up for Trading Post, Factory, & Power Plant. But if you want to find the most efficient one, 2 Trading Post - 5 Factory - 2 Power Plant is one you want. Even though it's not balanced by the fact you can't upgrade other facilities. You also need to log in more frequently 17.) Place you wanna go Not just future events, but PLEASE check the CN banner list, since it will provide you rough knowledge of who/when an operator will be released in standard banner. I get it, it won't be the same when the time comes on us. But still, usually it only has 2-4 banner differences from the original schedule. This will also help you for who to buy in Yellow-Certs Now let me add more: 20.) READ For God's sake PLEASE read. No, not only the stage/mechanic but your own operators kit/ability. That way you can understand how do they work 21.) Watch guides/tutorial Not trying to talk about stage guides. But please just watch all the beginner guides in RU-vid either from this funny Kazimiers enjoyer guy or other creators. All of them do a great job at making guide. Don't forget to read the comment too since they could correct add more useful things
For tip 8 I also usually buy operators directly but that doesn't discredit how good of a deal pulling is. You're not typically dunping the 38 pulls on mumbo jumbo but for bigger banners like any of the seasonal limiteds in which case the drop from needing 300 pulls to 262 pulls for sparking is significant.
@@kyarumomochi5146 red certs aren't the same as green and yellow certs but if u do mean strictly red certs, you roughly 1 red cert per sanity (i say roughly since rng is a factor in every one of the red cert stages)
Nah I think the pulls are still better, rng can net you 6 stars in less pulls and more boost towards reaching pity, especially the abysmal limited pity
The cargo lmd one is there even any other stage that give more lmd or more worth? Im doing it cause currently just need lmd. I'm notnew player i guess u could say mid to late game player whatever lvl108 acc count as. I heard this advice I've never seen anyone talk for alternative other then from events
There are no other stage that gives that much LMD, but most people main LMD income is in the base. Just manage them carefully & u don't need to worry about them anymore, despite the fact you just built 5 freaking 6 stars in a span of 1 month (definitely not me (lv. 99, starts playing at 15 April 2023))
@@helmifaiz4504 figured i kinda of want to farm it cause i need lmd rn but at the same time i want more orundum. Btw how do u know when star playing? Did u kept track or is there a way in game to check
@@randomperson4198go to your profile page (in "friends" section) & look into the left corner-above (above your assistants name). There is "hired" there. Mine is 2023-4-15 Also, if you atleast have alot of 6 stars operators FULLY built (Atleast M3 & mod lv.1) maybe you could farm the LMD stage although I prefer to just be patience & manage my base (2-5-2 btw) and... Don't need to worry for my LMD (& EXP) for a long time
Little bit extra about Arts damage, although the writing, art res can reach 100, the minimal damage of the arts damage is 1% so tehnically the maximum res is 99 even if its writing is 100
@@hafizhaditya2896 Oho, nice catch! I never really have the need or curiosity to do all that since reading the story and bashing my head to try and error a stage takes up too much of my brain power, lol.
It is not worth buying the 3* and 4* vouchers in tier two of the green cert shop. they are common enough that you will get all the ops with time, and any certs received do not make up for the massive cost. The headhunting permits are not worth it unless you are a whale, or very high level. Just use it for the materials. Also, for recruitment, it's not worth setting the time to 9:00:00 unless you have the Top op or Senior op tags, as you will probably just get a 3 star either way. Set it to 7:40:00, the highest time that can be set that guarantees a 3* or higher.
@@sharkyferret but its better to have originite prime then orundum u could turned them into energy too. People might change their mind later so having originite prime is alot better then turning it immediately.
Nah! Beginners should use Originate Primes for pulls, that's what I did. Most skins will have a rerun. I have most of the skins now. But when I started playing the game way back in August 2020, I prioritized pulling over skins when I was a beginner. When you reach the point where your account is already strong enough, then you can start spending on skins.
I think it’s almost comical JUST HOW MUCH content a squad of only E1 max level 3 stars can clear. The game literally gives you them very freely for a reason. You actually can’t go wrong early on just building 3 stars for a bit. A handful of 3 stars STILL get used heavily in the meta like melantha, Kroos, and midnight.
newbie here. if the LMD and EXP Stage weren't recommended, then where does newbie supposed to get the huge amount of LMD and EXP needed to upgrade their rooster and progress the game while there's no active Event like current CC which not suitable for beginners?
They were not recommended, but if you're a newbie, they should be still fine.... I was doing EXP & LMD stage by relatively a long time. Before my base actually done built. If you want to have huge income, build 2 Trading Post, 5 Factory, & 2 Power plant with the downside of not being able to maximize other facilities including dormitory, that makes you should login more frequently. But I do this set up, and I still have spare LMD & EXP despite building alot of operators
It's "not reccomended" if you care about min-maxing the ressources you can get from each sanity point, but IMO as a newbi it shouldn't your focus yet, forcing yourself to not farm these because they are not reccomended when you realy need these ressources early on (especialy since it will take some time to get your base going) might slow your progress more than farming them despise it not being efficient would. I'd say you should reduce the amount of time you farm it as your base slowly build up.
Doing them in early account days is all good, but when your account starts to become established, that’s when you should start not doing those (only when you feel you need to)
Farm them if you need them. It's only a recommendation. Personally, I've been maxing my ops (main ones I often use first) which means I never get to over 1m+ LMD often. I'm (lvl120 account) at the point where the only thing that stops me from promoting every operator I want to is LMD. I do it as to not give myself the excuse that "if only my operators were stronger". Wouldn't recommend doing it for the whole team at early game though, since it WILL drain your LMD. edited for clarification
New player here, thanks a lot. I don't know you can do multiple run with auto. As a f2P, I don't have much but I'm grateful for my low rarity units. Should I pull a bit on R6 banner? I don't care much about the Collab but I know they're the only limited banner...
R6 banner are strong but there are much more stronger characters that are coming such as Degenbrecher or Wisadel. Highly recommend on pulling those two especially for a new player
@@sweetgula2101 despite Degenbrecher being the "genderbend Mlynar" & Walter broke the entire games. I want you to know that Ela, the 6 stars operators in R6S part 2 ; is basically quite broken She may has Trapmaster-Specialist class, but the way she works is more like a Marksman-Sniper, with additional devices that gives an enemy Fragile effect (basically the strongest debuff in this game). Before her, most people uses Boss-Killer + Suzuran to kill some bosses. But after her, you can bring her for both Boss-killer and Debuffer But I'm not trying to convice you to pull R6S banner, I only want you to research all the upcoming new operators & reconsider which operators that will benefits your roaster the most
If you're new, that's fine. But if you're experienced, your base should be producing enough LMD and XP such that you'd be farming materials instead (and of course the events whenever they're active)
Please can someone help me with how to turn a factory into a trading post in your base. I have seen so many people have multiple trading posts while I have only one and I can’t seem to figure out how to fix it myself 😢
If I am reading your question correctly, you would want to first turn on “building mode”, then click on the thing you want to remove, and there should be a downgrade option. Hope this helps!
@@sharkyferret thank you so much for getting back to me!! It’s a bit tricky to explain but in your video when you showered your base you had 3 trading posts, while my base only has 1 and I was wondering if there is a way to turn other facilities into trading posts and vice versa. I looked into downgrading in the building mode but wouldn’t it just make the facility host less workers and consume less energy etc?
@@sunmis2416 what you would have to do is downgrade the thing completely, leaving it blank, then you can proceed to build your additional trading post.
2:32 What if I can’t save up? I really want to get Shu and Walter but with my addiction to spend 10 pulls the second I get it is a very big problem, is there any way to fix myself from doing it without going to the nearest therapist office?
Nah Just go Pull for them, the Only time i use Cert to Buy operator only for Eunectes and Lapipi Other than that i almost never save up and just pull when i want to pull ( i'm not really picky with ops either so that's probably help my case)
Yeah no you may wanna get help for that if it's so bad you can't even save up 10. If the idea that at the worst possible luck Shu and Wisadel will take 300 PULLS EACH to be guaranteed isn't the best deterrent, then uh... yeah. Good luck buddy..
@@GEN.Alaska okay so I am the Guy you may wanna ask, since before I spark Virtuosa banner, I have 500 pulls worth of Orundum, OP, & tickets. While now I've been saving for Ela & Walter (spark too) It is actually depends on each account, my account is already established despite only been playing for 1 year (even one of my veteran friend was suprised by my progression) Most of them were accuired by buying a 6 stars operators, free operators from event, or... pulling, in certain banner. Not all of them. I get it that watching all the delicious srandard banners makes you want to spare a pull. I have been in that moment when I skipped Ines, Typhon, Eyja-Alter, & alot more standard banners. But, here I will give you a mindset "my account/roaster will be alot better if I'm saving & pull this limited operators, rather than I'm pulling random banner that I don't even know will I get the operators or not"
Arknights's newbie experience is maybe one of the worst experiences in gacha's. LMD and Mats are biggest issue, wrong investment will make your progress stuck for days. If you're okay to watch a video guide (not everyone like it), just build the operators that used in that guide. If you're not, then just build the all of the 3 star with one or two 4 star ( DPS and Holder).
As F2P Always farm LMD until you don't need anymore😂 (I safe it 20m, so I can go farm another mats) And make sure as F2P don't try lvl up 90 to much, lvl 60 is enough to safe ur LMD 👌
Im pretty sure you lost everyone on the certshop part, who didnt already know their way around. anyway, here is 3 beginner tips from me: -don't let your operators get defeated, instead retreat them just before they go down. you will typically get at least 10 dp back from that, which is like an entire vanguards skill activation. -farm the event stages, even if you can only beat the first level. the event shop alone offers much better value/sanity than any normal stage. -don't promote Kafka to E1 unless you know what you're doing, as it may cause permanent account damage.
@@rexnatori Yes. Her DP cost goes up by 2 when you promote her, and you usually use her for her Skill 1 and don't care about its damage. Though, if her Skill 2 sounds fun, 2 DP doesn't completely ruin her ability to use Skill 1
Couldn't agree more on tip 5, such a rarity in gacha games that low-rarity ops are actually useful (some even better than the higher-rarity ones) and is more than enough to clear (almost) all of the contents in the game.
Don’t spend sanity on money or exp cards? Then what? I’ve been playing for 5 years, i have 550+ of literally every blue and purple upgrade mat and dozens of the max ones. I basically just max out ops as a thing to do now and that’s where the infinite need for money and cards comes in. It’s fair to say 90% of my sanity goes here.
@@sharkyferret yes, i will, but i was genuinely asking… like if you have everything, there’s not much else sanity is used for. You get your class tokens and participate in any events of course, but other than that, you’re just using it on weekly orundum farm and well… money and exp :) If you had everything you needed, what would you use your sanity for? This is why it’s confusing to hear that the community apparently thinks it’s not good to use sanity in those missions. Now don’t get me wrong, those missions suck, it’s true, huge sanity costs for a meagre reward, but if your goal is upgrading ops, often times you have no choice.
@@MrMannerless the reason why LMD & EXP farms are not worth it is because you can get alot of it from base AND the fact that most people still broke on Upgrade Materials If you have pretty much any materials to cover up the cost of upgrading *three* 6 stars operators, than you could say that you're not that broke on Material So...? LMD & EXP farms are the only good choice there, especially if you have alot of problem with it. My LMD & EXP pretty much would last for a pretty long time so that's why I don't farm them. But holy hell I'm broke in material & skill summary. Therefore I should farm them.
@@MrMannerless at least for me, when I don’t really know what to farm for, I usually default to materials I’m running low on (cause I tend to run out of a certain one), or red certs for the inevitable moment when we get new red cert shop operators (plus the module block goodies) I guess if you truly and genuinely have nothing else to farm for, honestly I’d say go for those exp chips/lmd, why not.
