I was really impressed with these headsets, has anyone else tried these? What are your thoughts?

We just had the Hollyland on set this last week and I will never go back. I was just about to buy my own eartecs but after using the C1 I’m glad I didn’t. Buy once cry once!

Been following you since the very first days of Shane´s Inner Circle. So happy to still see you active and vlogging. Broke my arm right before a gig with Star+ and going through your vids while I recover. Keep it up man, hugs from argentina

Chris, it makes me so happy to see you doing your thing, I'm still watching your posts! Thanks for inspiring countless Memorial Students that are walking the path you started clearing for those willing to follow.

I’m still loving it! It’s been fun to create more recently, which is partially possible because of the strike. It’s really cool to have made an impact for them, wishing you and all the students the best!

This was a very in-depth review. I actually sold my eartec ul4s kit and was considering picking these up. I really like that they provide different earcup options. I wasn't aware of the dual-channel function. That definitely adds more utility to the headsets. Very nice Chris!

You do need the base station to use the two channel function* but it’s great to be able to separate it out!

Good to know! We picked up a 5 pack of Eartecs a few years ago after having a big HME set for the smaller size and setup time, but the range isn't that great, and the audio quality isn't great either. We'll definitely look at the Solidcoms next time we're in the market!

Hi Nate! I think the base station would really come in hand for you, I think there may also be a way to link base stations with Ethernet but I need to do some digging there

Just confirmed, you can link Hub's together INFINITELY and have as many headsets as you want, and as far as your network cable is long.

Are headsets able to flip between A and B Channels on the fly without going back to the base station? For example I’d love to be able to flip between talking to camera dept and G&E.

Yes! You can hit A or B from the headset or have both selected if you want to talk to and hear everyone.

I dont get it, why use solidcom with a radio? I get the difference but I dont get why you're combining them. At the end of the day they let you talk to someone without yelling and that's it? What am I missing?

A lot of times our crews get so big that we don’t have a com system that can cover everyone so they get handed out to the department keys, operators and 1st AC’s. So if you want to communicate to someone without a headset you’ll have to use a walkie. Or if you’re down the street for some car stunt out of range and want to ask the AD department a question you’d use your walkie on channel 1 to do so. So it really depends on crew size and size of the physical set. I usually only wear my com as an operator unless the specific situation requires a radio. DP’s also usually don’t wear a radio so if you want to just speak to your department you can use a walkie for that too.
