I love how everyone just completely forgets about Call of Duty World at War, literally the MOST gruesome CoD even still to date. Makes me sad that people just completely overlook this game, not only was the campaign great but the multiplayer was fanstastic… not to mention WaW was the first CoD to introduce zombies, and in the most amazing way too.
It would’ve been an absolute treat to get remastered campaigns of world at war, black ops 1, and black ops 2 as build ups for the release of cod 2025 seeing as Treyarch is releasing their title that year
Finally some IW love. This campaign is amazing and it's also my favorite one in the series. Finally someone who gives this game the credit it deserves.
It's gotten lot's of recognition now that people are seeing what actual bad CoD games are.... It was massively overhated by fangirls who either never played it or hate when CoD is in space and took their anger out on it
there is absolutely doubt about that statement, better than MW2? BO1? BO2? COD4? MW3? Cold War? No way, I think it's better in hindsight because of how it links to BO1 with Reznov. Its personally number 7 for me
@@all-caps3927 Yeah i understand why you would have it low but we need to compare these for the time they were released, the eerie feeling playing that game was a first of its generation and was never recreated. I played 100+ hours of Cod4 right through to todays games and it's top 3 for sure.
@@jdsaso fair enough, I wasn't old enough to play the game in its prime I was still pretty young when it came out. For me the story is solid and imo it does the best job of all the WW2 campaigns of showing the horror of war and that's really where I give it loads of points - that eerie feeling as you said is defining for that game and that era. For me the story just isn't as strong as the others and the gameplay was weaker than COD4 which game only a year prior imo. It is definitely up there though, just not alllll the way up there. How do you think it compares to WW2?
@@all-caps3927 I actually like WW2 as well just not as much as WAW. COD 4 is iconic that's fair enough. The run from COD4 to Black Ops 2 is unmatched. I wouldn't argue with anyone if they had any of those in-between and those two as the best COD of all time. For me personally though it would be; 1. WAW 2. MW2 3 BO1 4 COD4 5 MW3 6 BO2 but these 6 are so far ahead of the others IMO.
@@jdsasowaw barely had any story, no character development on US side of the story. Reznov was cool but his story was much more fleshed out on BO1. WW2 had much more character development however in terms of fun WaW is better to play
My ranking: 19: Call of Duty Vanguard (2021); Favorite Mission: "Phoenix" 18: Call of Duty: Black Ops III (2015); Favorite Mission: "New World" 17: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (2023); Favorite Mission: "Flashpoint" 16: Call of Duty 3 (2006); Favorite Mission: "The Mace" 15: Call of Duty: Ghosts (2013); Favorite Mission: "Federation Day" 14: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (2014); Favorite Mission: "Induction" 13: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019); Favorite Mission: "Clean House" 12: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2020); Favorite Mission: "Borderline" 11: Call of Duty (2003); Favorite Mission: "The Eder Dam" 10: Call of Duty: WWII (2017); Favorite Mission: "D-Day" 9: Call of Duty 2 (2005); Favorite Mission: "Outnumbered and Outgunned" 8: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2011); Favorite Mission: "Dust to Dust" 7: Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (2020); Favorite Mission: "Redlight, Greenlight" 6: Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (2016); Favorite Mission: "Operation Dark Quarry" 5: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009); Favorite Mission: "Whisky Hotel" 4: Call of Duty: World at War (2008); Favorite Mission: "Black Cats"/"Eviction" (can't decide) 3: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (2007); Favorite Mission: "All Ghillied Up" 2: Call of Duty: Black Ops II (2012); Favorite Mission: "Karma" 1: Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010); Favorite Mission: "Vortuka"
I heavily disagree with the placement of MWII( the new one) because the plot was very weak it's just revolves around stop 3 missiles, the main villian Hassan is super forgettable and the twist makes no sense and is super predictable if you played the OG Mw2. Don't get me wrong MwII has some good spots like Alejandro Vargas is a great character and the actor who played him is just perfect, Soap and Ghost are really fun and well developed characters and Missions like El Sin Nombre or Alone are great. Other then that I think MW2019 is just better the tone was a lot more serious which I think is fitting, the characters like Gaz and Price are super engaging, Alex and Farah are a welcome addition to the cast, although the main villian Barkov is super weak like Hassan, and Hadir's villain arc story just abruptly ended. But Missions like Clean House, Wolf Den or Going Dark are just perfection in terms of how intense it is and the enemies ain't just mindlessly rushing you they hide in closets or underneath a bed. For me I would've placed MWII at number 13 Cod WW2 at number 12 and Mw2019 at number 10
Glad to see you dropped MWII on this list. I think that campaign was so overrated and was my biggest issue with your last list. I pretty much agree with your entire ranking now. I’d put Cold War higher though. Probably 2 or 3. Another cool thing about Infinite Warfare is that the main character Reyes is Brian Bloom who was one of the two main writers of the story.
MW3 above BO1 is crazy. MW3 was a clusterfuck and really had me fatigued over the series. It had its moments, but man the middle of the game is a slog and just MW2 campaign but worse. BO1 had arguably the best story, had great levels with great variety.
@@almightysamwhich4203 I did not mean 2023. I meant MW3 2011. It was probably the worst of the golden era COD campaigns. It was just "Hey remember MW2? What about that again?"
@kevinpowers3907 dude the original mw3 campaign was so good. Maybe not the best but really good. You had the battle over new York, the mission in London where you had to stop the attack, the train bit of that mission, the mission where you protect the Russian president when the plane is hijacked, soaps death and that mission was beautifully done. Yuris backstory and that twist. Taking down makarov in that body armour with price and seeing the satisfying conclusion to the trilogy? Have you even played it? It's amazing. It's far better than any of the new modern warfare games especially mw3 2023. The whole idea of world war 3 was amazing. It was a sequel to modern warfare 2 of course it's gonna be similar and that's not a bad thing mw2 was great aswell
Never been here but I'm surprised how much I agree with this, especially top two. I'd put MW2019 in my number three spot, but otherwise I totally agree. IW is easily my favorite.
I know this is your opinion but bo2 man is the best cod campaign, it has the best villain, multiple endings, side missions, story and don’t forget the end credit rock band scene.
Recently played through the Bo1 campaign and i had a much greater time than anything modern pvp! The difficulty is so good it makes it brilliantly immersive much more than Bo2, and the story was just simple and cool
I know I'm a little late but I actually like the vanguard campaign and it's the only one so far I've played multiple times (although I haven't played all of them yet but I'm working on it) but I'm really glad you didn't just throw it last like everyone else
Couldn’t have made a better list, I would definitely put WaW higher and Infinite Warfare is the GOAT. The respect for the naval aspect of the story really sold me.
Being a beginner in video games I still haven't played all them YET... but I think your rankings is very solid couldn't agree more with infinite warfare bc if I don't play infinite and have the experience I had I may have not moved on....great rankings 5*
Thank you for defending bo3, I love that game but you hit the nail on the head of why the campaign feels off. Like it’s fun but something just doesn’t feel complete about it
To say that the older call of duties don't hold up makes me believe you've never played them. Call of Duty 2 holds up EXTREMELY well and is by far one of the best in the series
W for the infinite warfare campaign, it was actually amazing. The art was so gorgeous, and the ending was rough. I love this game so much and I still play it today
1) WaW, BO1 and BO2 needs to have their campaigns remade with Battlefield 1's graphics. 2) I love the campaign of IW, but to me the worldbuilding was a bit weak.
I don’t know why everybody hates the new MW3 campaign. I personally thought it was really good and I’ve played every single cod campaign. Only thing was that it was pretty short.
Why would you exclude the old Cods? Its easy to compare, just compare the campaigns. An easy example would be the difference between cod 2 and cod ww2. Cod 2 still has some of the best gun play in the series
Not gonna lie, I'd rank them all at the bottom so I don't think people would be happy about that anyways lol. They just don't compare for me. Like it's a whole different thing. I loved them back then, but they don't really do much story-wise for me. Just fun, battle simulators, that's what those older ones felt like. Which again, was fine back in 2006, but it just doesn't compare to the more character-driven games to me.
MW1 2018 was very realistic in the shooting side of the war, it deserves the recognition. The mission in which you infiltrate houses to take down the hostiles without killing civilians, and the mission where you play as a kid in the middle west were amazing. But the actual plot of the war is total horseshit. If you know a thing or two about international politics and war, you will notice that the war in this game tries to be "real world relatable" but fails so hard that i could say that i relate more with the wars in Ghosts or Advanced Warfare. They where trying to make a international conflict in which "no country is the enemy", so they came up with all this bullshit. And the worst is, that if you think about it, in the classic MW1, 2 and 3, there were never a "bad country" in the war, just some evil minds controlling the countries, and the story is great.
I want to cry because Nick Reyes is like a reflection 4 suck my tablish. That's why I didn't feel sad about soap death in modern warfare 3 2023 Because the rebooted modern warfare universe is a pretty cool to infinite warfare so I understood that's where the story of you can't save everyone came from🥺
Nice; for me: 1. Modern Warfare 2 (GOAT; they need to bring back Hans Zimmer) 2. Modern Warfare 2019 (severely underappreciated) 3. Infinite Warfare (surprisingly somber, and well characterized) 4. CoD4 (classic) 5. Black Ops (best story in the series) 6. World at War (best depiction of WW2 in gaming) 7. WWII (also underappreciated, but a bit less exciting) 8. Ghosts (cheesy Michael Bay schlock, but well done schlock) 9. Advanced Warfare (final third is epic) 10. Cold War (great structure, but too short) 11. Modern Warfare II (no music in the campaign really hurts the theming, and missions aren’t as free form as they appear to be.) 12. Modern Warfare 3 (great final mission, but overall a meandering third act) 13. Black Ops II (severely overrated campaign) 14. Vanguard (enjoyable, but missed potential) 15. Black Ops 3 (respect to it for sticking to a vision, but it’s just not clear enough a story to hold any weight in the mind of the viewer.) 16. Modern Warfare III (enjoyed it more than most, but it should have been an expansion, not because of its length, but because of its lack of developed plot) 17. Black Ops IIII (I love this game, should have had a campaign.)
@@Lifetime10154Really? I thought the final few missions spent storming the castle and taking him out while your arm is broken, so you have to switch weapons instead of reload, were on par with some of the best final segments of any CoD campaign.
Personally mw3 campaign is the worst. Then its vanguard, then ghosts and then its bo3 Also IW sits at #5 #4 is mw3 #3 is mw2 #2 is bo1 and #1 is bo2 for me personally Also im glad David mason is getting some praise
@@David-A. Thanks for being respectful to me its good to not start wars over video games like i still find mwiii to be a weak campaign but it didnt disrespect real soldiers like Vanguard and it had cohesion unlike BO3 but then again i also found BOCW to be a bottom tear campaign cause its as short as mwiiii
@Jasmine-Graves fair enough. And i agree with your statement. We all have different views, opinions. The reason to me bo3 is higher, yes even though the characters were boring/lifeless and story confusing as hell to which we have to do our own research, the silver lining to it is the campaign arguably has the best and most interesting premise. It exemplifies creative writing, the ideas and concept are brilliant, yes the vague presentation makes it incomprehensible for average players. Regardless it also to me had a hidden message which they couldve went for instead however it had potential to explore ideas how far technology will take us before we become disconnected from reality, which is what the DNI was designed for
@Jasmine-Graves also i see your point on vanguard. However world at war and ww2 show respect. World at war had more serious tone and arguable the most Dark COD campaign, it was authentic. Even though ww2 was more upbeat the story had this feel of brotherhood which i personally liked, and the characters were interesting with great personality
You do know David Mason or Alex. Mason is cannon that he was alive and next cut scene where you see David maiden's missing. Dad, it's cannon, so you don't like that ending too bad😂
Black ops 1 will forever be the GOAT. Really like seeing some love for iw's campaign, it's really good and it's such a shame people disliked the game as much as they did.
@Petrevious I can't believe you put on number one because you guys hated that game that was out of a dozen people. I was only a handful of people that actually loved the game. Even the dude who's a marine, played this game He doesn't understand the criticism for the games You doesn't understand the criticism for the games.
About to be 24. Been playing COD since Call of Duty 3 (yes, when I was 6 years old). Been through the prime of every COD since. Doesn't mean I have to rank them the exact way you do. I don't rank things based on nostalgia.
@@Toku91 ranking them based only on nostalgia wouldn’t be a true ranking. Of course the older games would all rank higher because we tend to appreciate and have fonder memories of the past than we do of the present times. It wouldn’t be a proper judgement of the story telling, game design, quality, etc.
Infinite Warfare’s Nick voice actor is Brian Bloom who starring as BJ Blazkowicz in MachineGames’ Wolfenstein series. Infinite Warfare has closely masterpiece level in Campaign. I love this campaign but sadly I’m not the fan of any sci-fi elements. Advanced Warfare is character-driven campaign but generic and straightforward.
Infinite warfare was so boring i didn't even finish it because i wasn't having fun. The characters were boring and i couldn't care less about them and the villain is not that good compared to others.
I agree with the villain but the characters were far from boring especially if you went and read the battle logs and did the side missions you bond with them more
@@Lubble- Bo3 actually had a functioning story unlike MWIII. III has awful gameplay, awful story. Bo3's story despite being literal drugs, actually worked and the gameplay was really good for a cod campaign.
@@collintheturkey that's a rather childish look at it, do you think the remakes being a thing suddenly wipes the originals from existence?? Do we have people hunting copies of the games down and destroying them because a reboot happened? No... It doesn't ruin the originals at all, MWIII is bad but who cares? It doesn't change anything about any other CoD game, I'm not defending it but to say BO3 had a good story is laughable, they're both terrible games that are the bottom of the barrel for CoD, BO3 is bad, MWIII is bad but at least you can laugh at it along the way for how bad it really is
I don't usually include CODs before COD 4 in these videos because they are hard to compare. Very outdated. I likely wouldn't rate any of them that high anyways
Dude, the modern warfare rebooted cut scenes are just like infinite warfare's cut scene quality😂❤ Do you not see the connection between both universes and the game itself And the technology used in both games
