Wow, this video turned out to be a LOT longer than I expected...
Castlevania is a game series with really enjoyable boss battles, expecially final bosses. So I thought to make a collection of every final boss coming from that series, from the very first Castlevania, to Lords of Shadow 2 (when it comes out), every spinoff included, except for the Pachinko games and Encore of The Night (of which I can't find any gameplay video). So yeah, here's part one, spoilers alert obviously.
Thanks to all the RU-vidrs whose gameplay is included in these videos, expecially Shadowserg, since a lot of the final bosses are fought by him.
Games included:
- Castlevania: Rondo of Blood
- Castlevania Bloodlines
- Castlevania: Dracula X
- Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
- Castlevania Legends
- Castlevania (N64)
- Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness
- Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
- Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance
- Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
- Castlevania: Lament of Innocence
- Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
CASTLEVANIA (c) KONAMI, nothing is owned by me, everything is owned by them.

Even when getting whipped in the face multiple times, Dracula can still find a reason to laugh. And was that a cartoon squish sound I heard in SoTN's final battle? XD

+Veemon Motomiya Actually, it is just "Castlevania".
@AXMdoes
@AXMdoes 9 лет назад
+Anakunus Considering how many Castlevania games are known as "Castlevania" somewhere around the world (original, Circle of the Moon, 64 and this), I wanted to differentiate them by using their complete name. That is, if I didn't make a typo.
@Anakunus
@Anakunus 9 лет назад
+AxelMill98 But "Castlevania" IS its complete name in Europe as well as in Japan.

RoB:This will be the template for all 2d games onwards Dracula X:the most painfull battle in the series,lookls like Robbie rotten,then Devil Kazuya with speedos SotN:actually different,because he sits on the demon couch Legends:uses the gameboy series formula

The final battle in Rondo of Blood for the SNES is NO JOKE! The simple addition of pits made that fairly routine Dracula fight a LOT more challenging. One of the few things I'm HAPPY with when it comes to the SNES port of Dracula X =]
@AXMdoes
@AXMdoes 10 лет назад
Funny, because people seem to absolutely HATE that battle, saying that it drags on forever, and that the aforementioned pits are annoying. I can't speak for myself, since I never played the SNES port.
@djshefu
@djshefu 10 лет назад
i can see why most ppl would despise it. half of me HATES that battle, but after playing the original version and beating the game, i kinda wished that the final battle was a bit more difficult. so the other half of me loves the fact that it's annoyingly tedious =P

1:04 Rondo of Blood: This Dracula battle is definitely memorable for its backstory and the lead-up to the Dark Prince. In terms of the battle itself, it's an acceptable and decent Dracula battle. Not the most challenging to say the least, but its design is simple enough to be as memorable as Castlevania 1's final battle. There's a reason this fight was recreated in future games, it is one of the most well-remembered Dracula battles for great reason. 3:25 Bloodlines: Rapid-paced, well-designed, and has 3 DAM phases, this Dracula fight is one of the greatest of the entire series. It's not Super Castlevania IV, but it's a decent Genesis/Mega Drive counterpart. 5:55 Dracula X: This Fight..... is the worst and possibly most difficult Dracula fight for all the wrong reasons. THE PITS. Getting hit by Dracula Once while airborne or standing will most likely send you flying to a pit and die. Not only that, this fight is boringly long, especially in the 1st phase while the trickyness of the 2nd phase might send you flying to a pit as well. Case in point, THIS is not a Dracula Battle, it's a torture device. Be aware before advancing. 10:18 Symphony of the Night: Shaft and Dracula are 2 well-made, neatly refined bosses that deserve to be considered some of the best in the saga. The fights, themselves, however, are a bit underwhelming, especially with SOTN's style easily overshadowing these bastards with whatever Alucard can use to defeat them. If you want a real challenge, do the Naked run..... it is not easy though. 12:17 Castlevania Legends: This Dracula fight is a bit of a mixed bag. The 1st phase is a very well-made challenge for a final fight, but the 2nd one is just a more complicated variation of the first.... WITH PITFALLS. Nowhere near as Bad As Dracula X, but they can be annoying. Overall, this fight has one of the better designs and is probably the best of the Castlevania GB finales, but it is not as memorable or up there with other entries. 14:35 Castlevania 64: This fight is a true mixed bag. The setup and design of the fights are top-notch, despite the bulky aging the graphics have taken (it's the N64, what do you expect). But the control and gameplay are not fun and enjoyable. Playing as either Reinhardt or Carrie does not change the fight that much, with Reinhardt being much harder to control with the whip while Carrie is slightly easier. This fight also exists in Legacy of Darkness so you know. 17:48 Legacy of Darkness: Cornell's story is the prequel to C64, and the finale with Dracula there is much more refined than C64's. The atmosphere is thematic, especially in Phase 1 and the setup to Phase II, the controls, while still a pain, are not as terrible as C64's, and the Dracula fight itself is pretty unique and challenging. The 1st phase, like C64's, is not that hard. Whereas the 2nd phase of C64's fight was intimidating and a bit more annoying than challenging and not that memorable in design or fun, Ultimate Dracula in Legacy of Darkness has probably the most underlooked design and best introduction (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Zt2ysGGcIMw.html) to a phase, certainly when compared to superior games like SC4. The 2nd phase, though, oh god it's terrifying. Not only is it a bullet hell fight where you have to rapidly dodge a pattern of attacks Ultimate throws at you, but you have to be PIXEL-PERFECT to hit his weak spot. The only thing that prevents this Dracula from being demoralizing is the fact you can stock up on health items (get the chickens and beefs ready-up) and that when you hit Dracula's weak spot in this phase, especially in Manwolf form and/or when you hit the spot twice), he takes serious abuse. Personally, I think this fight is the most Underrated Dracula battle of them all.

out of the video, i'd say Dracula X and Circle of the Moon are the most fun and challenging fights. Legends, Rondo and Symphony also do a good job, but each are flawed in some way, with Symphony's being the least flawed out of the three. out of the ones i've played, Aria of Sorrow's is the worst, tedious slog after the game gave you an awesome fight with Julius and Graham. Dawn was an improvement in every way, though that applies to Dawn of Sorrow in general

Oh I remember I hated Dracula x. That was the hardest damn game to get through. I know it is a super NES Port of rondo of blood, but hell even that game was easier than this one. I remember the movements and the controls sucked or maybe it was just my teenage youth at the time.

+David Estrada Zamora My hopes for MN9 crumbled when I first saw a gameplay of it. It's the exact opposite of what I was expecting. A lot of people and I still don't understand where the millions of dollars went. Clearly not in the making of the game, as some things like the lack of lip movement, the explosions or the voice acting are jarring.
