The first two movies ruined me as a kid: 1. Trouble falling asleep. 2. Could not close my eyes in the shower. 3. Ran to take out the trash like my last name was Bolt. 4. Could not hang any body parts off the bed because no one could tell me that he wasn’t down there waiting to get a nibble like my name was Nabisco.
Dude same! They terrified me as a kid. Probably watched it way too young. Forgot about them - Then in second grade I accidentally came across the video cases at the rental store as a kid and spiraled into an anxiety ridden month - night sweats, couldn’t sleep, genuinely thought he was after me. If my eyes closed I knew he was right there. Still can count on vivid chucky nightmare at least twice a year.
Same here haha I couldn’t see hear or even say his name without spiraling into a panic attack I was that bad after about seven years I’ve only just now got over it haha
I’ll explain the confusion with Tiffany’s death in Seed of Chucky. So you know how Charles’ soul possesses the Chucky doll after he dies in Child’s Play? That’s because when you die, your soul leaves your body, which means that since Charles’ used a Voodoo spell his soul possessed the Chucky doll.So Tiffany only possessed Jennifer Tilly AFTER Chucky killed her because she used a Voodoo spell to possess Jennifer but only after she died. I hope this helped!👍👌
Not necessarily! Besides the remake that came out, there's a confirmed series for Childs play that follows the storyline with Tiffany and Glen and Glenda. I think it all happens after cult of chucky.
@@OfficerFriendly2006 If there is, it's whatever to me. Knowing that the OG plot is moving forward separately in the future, I can accept the remake and any sequels it churns out as an alternate reality. Ooh, maybe alternate realities can explain why Chucky's backstory changed. Why WOULD he have a man in a getaway car when he's in his own house, clearly not expecting the cops?
@@yuki.thatsall. when I watched the movie on Netflix and on here. Idk if they edited out but that’s the version I remembered, chucky didn’t say Andy he just said “kid…” in a annoyed but slightly shocked tone
I heard that the makers of Curse of Chucky wanted viewers to think it was a remake before the unmasking, to mess with them. You have to admit that he looked different like it was plastic surgery, the before the unmasking one.
7. Seed of Chucky - Just Awful 6. Cult of Chucky - Fun, but overall unsatisfying 5. Child's Play 3 - Some good stuff, but overall just a retread of the first two 4. Bride Of Chucky - Loved it in the theatre, but it didn't age well imo 3. Curse of Chucky - A necessary breathe of fresh air 2. Child's Play - A classic. Great way to start the series 1. Child's Play 2 - As good as the first, but better paced. The final act is the best of the series
It’s wild to me how child’s play two continues to be the fan favorite, and I’m really glad that Mancini took note of that while making the new TV series!
This is one of the most solid rankings I've ever seen. I completely agree through and through, and I knew I would when I saw your last place ranking for the third installment.
I really enjoyed the Tiffany death scene in bride of Chucky. It was the right amount of dark humor but also haunting and freaky at the same time! I remember watching it in the theater as a kid and my mouth being wide open! I also rewatched it this year and still have the same feelings. Minus the mouth wide open.
My father made me watch the first one when I was 4. My mother has us move houses because I wouldn’t sleep in my own bed and I couldn’t use the bathroom for 8 years alone. After ten years, nothing scares me.
Same. I think I remember watching the first one when I was little and the scene where Chucky was all burned and walking up to Andy scared me and so did the scene where Chucky's head was saying, "Hi, I'm Chucky, wanna playyyyy...". But nowadays I'm really not scared of anything since I'm now much older. But I still love horror movies! Especially older ones! And they're still pretty scary to this day honestly and I can see why others will find them scary!
BRUH BRUH HELL FUCKING NO when I spied on my mom and older sister watching Annabelle I couldn’t sleep and go to the bathroom alone for 8 YEARS AND MONTHS
This is my ranking 1. Child’s play 2 2. Child’s play (1988) 3. Curse of Chucky 4. Cult of chucky 5. Child’s play 3 6. Child’s play (2019) 7. Bride of chucky 8. Seed of Chucky
My Ranking: 1. Child’s Play 2 (10/10) 2. Child’s Play (9.5/10) 3. Child’s Play 3 (8/10) 4. Curse Of Chucky (7/10) 5. 2019 Reboot (7/10) 6. Cult Of Chucky (6/10) 7. Bride Of Chucky (5.5/10) 8. Seed Of Chucky (2/10) You should also do a ranking of the Nightmare On Elm Street franchise
Jayden Rocks500 for ranking and movies recomandation i would be the 1st in line if i could ask anyone else then James! He does his job at saying the kills and explaining different movies!
I usually classify my favorites in a Top 4, with the other films in runners ups. For me. 4. Cult of Chucky. 3. Curse of Chucky. 2. Child's Play 1. 1. Child's Play 2. I have a soft spot for Bride, since it was my introduction to the series. When me and my mom were waiting in a hospital for something I can't remember, that movie was showing on the TV.
@@reecio1600 it was late at night, and it was a TV where the people waiting could change the channel. That mo vie just happened to be playing, and nobody thought to change it.
Wow, this is the first time I completely agree with a ranking list on RU-vid! As the video kept going I got so excited in agreement with the ranking and the reasons why haha. I literally just rewatched all these movies in the last couple days, finishing them all just today so my opinions on them are fresh. Perfect list! 👌
In Cult of Chucky it's revealed that Chucky and Tiffany can "split" their souls into several different pieces and can place them in different dolls to control simultaneously.
I was PRAYING Childs play 2 was gonna be first place and I was so relieved to find out that it was! One of my favorite movies of all time lol. Wouldn’t argue with someone who thought the original was better though.
I definitely would've picked the original for the top spot over part 2, but Andy and Kyle's foster sib relationship does make the movie. Someone should tell Rachel from Halloween 4&5 to take notes on how to be a foster sister.
This video was uploaded on my 11th birthday Here's my ranking of the child's play franchise with the series 9. Child's play 2019 (ok) 8. Child's play 3 (good) 7. Seed of chucky (good) 6. Child's play 1 (great) 5. Curse of chucky (great) 4. Cult of chucky (awesome) 3. Chucky series (awesome) 2. Bride of chucky (masterpiece) 1. Child's play 2 (masterpiece)
Am I the only one that didn’t like Child’s Play 2019??? I just didn’t like how the storyline went and the doll made me so upset for some reason that’s not the Chucky I know!!!!!
BTSMirandaEcco93 yeah I hated the plot and the new characters. In the remake the kills were cool but the story was boring. The only thing I will praise it for is for making me cry and sympathize over Chucky, which shouldn’t be how a horror movie makes you feel
The thing about Tiffany going into Jennifer is a callback to Bride, whenever Tiffany does a Damballa chant, it's always delayed for her. So she gave her last, dying words to Glen. Then as she dies, she switches to Jennifer, where she slides the axe to Glen.
3:22 i have a feeling it was Tiffany saying that because she wanted to make it seem like it didn’t work so that chucky wouldn’t bother her in her new life
Being that James is a huge WWE fan, my jaw dropped when I looked at what date this video was posted and how he still managed to mention Thunderdome which is currently a WWE staple for their shows. Sure it's a coincidence, but it's still pretty cool to go back and see.
Seed of Chucky is my favorite. I’m sorry! It’s so insane it makes no sense and that’s why I love it. It’s a drug trip without the drugs. Also Glen looks like David Bowie and anything resembling Bowie makes me fall in love
Ehh i kinda agree with James but I still like the movie and would put it probably at the middle mark, maybe partially due to influence from my sister and how she shares your opinion.
I want to see Glenn return. In the next movie the two foster siblings have to deal with the two teenagers as they have to track down chucky. Glenda still has her families' psychopathic tendencies while Glenn is still scared of all kinds of violence but has grown to not piss his pants.
At 12:42 that's my uncle Vince Melocchi. When I was a kid like 5 I truly believed Chucky killed my uncle. I wouldn't believe any different even when they put him on the phone with me. Everyone thought it was funny as hell except me
I personaly like Curse the most. I like classic ones too but curse has some great scenes such as the ,,dinner roulette’’ that I enjoyed the most. And I agree that backstory was kind of messed up, but still the rest is just awesome :). BTW I cant wait for you to rank Freddy Kruger movies;)
Would love to see a supercut of your early videos with the more recent ones, if only to demonstrate how much your voice tone, intonation, inflection and delivery has morphed through the years
I can agree mostly on the rankings but here's how I would rank them 7: seed of Chucky 6: child's play 3 5: Bride of Chucky 4:curse 3: child's play 1 2: child's play 2 1: cult I put cult at number one because when I was 7 I watched the movie and it was great my favorite kill was when the glass fell on the one lady who was tied to the hospital bed. I also liked how there was more then one chucky. Btw in the seed of Chucky how you said you weren't sure if Jennifer Tilly was in the dolls body or Tiffanys well I mite know the answer maybe Tiffany was still in the doll body wall she was talking to Glenda and then her soul switched body's. I know it doesn't make all that sense but who knows
Best to last Child’s play , child’s play 2 , curse of chucky , child’s play 3 , bride of chucky , cult of chucky , seed of chucky I’ll put the remake on when it comes out.
I mostly disagree, however, the video is enjoyable as always and I do see some of your points. My ranking would be: 7) Seed of Chucky (obviously) 6) Cult of Chucky (shot for the stars, but stumbled and fell into the next ditch if you ask me) 5) Child's Play 3 (mostly meh, has some fun scenes and it's at least shot pretty well for a third instalment in a slasher franchise about a killer doll) 4) Bride of Chucky (fun and CGI doesn't get isn't THAT bad or used as much as in Seed) 3) Child's Play 2 (beats Bride by just a hairline in my opinion due to the better ballance) 2) Curse of Chucky (great visuals, great ballance, great kills, and not only is it a good direct to video release kind of slasher, but a great slasher movie in general. Before I watched it I thought it would be the worst, but once I did, it became my 2nd favorite) 1) Child's Play (not because it's the original but because I think that the overall atmosphere is great, and that track when the credits roll is an underrated gem)
Hyper sonic I don't know. I did love Child's Play 2, but I liked Curse of Chucky a lot more. Also, the reveal of the stitched up Chucky in the Curse was one of the best moments in the franchise for me. I can understand why most fans see Child's Play 2 as the 2nd best or even the best, but I think that the original and Curse kick the shit out of it. I still love my top 4 and I think each of those was great. I even liked Child's Play 3 enough for what it was. It is probably one of the most consistant slasher franchises when it comes to quality so I get why anyone would say that the Bride was the best or that Curse was the best or Child's Play 2. Hell if someone said that Child's Play 3 was their favorite I would still understand it to some degree, unlike most franchises where I think that slightest deviations from what I think is the correct order from best to worst would make me think that the person has shit for brains. Sorry that I dragged it out this long, I just love going a bit deeper into reasonings behind my opinions on movies.
My favorite movies best to last 1: child's play 2 2: child's play 3 3: child's play 1 4: curse of chucky 5: bride of chucky 6: cult of chucky 7: seed of chucky 8: child's play (remake)
After spending 10 months in foster care when I was 16 I can honestly say part 2 completely misrepresents the foster care system. It's very very very uncommon to be placed with a family first time around. Most kids either usually end up in group homes or foster facilities. Group homes tend to vary in terms of restrictiveness. My entire time in foster care I was in two facilities and one group home. I stayed at little Debbie's in stone mountain Georgia and I'm still in contact with all of my brother's from the home. I was allowed a phone, access to social media and I went to public school. Honestly I think the group home gave me a bit too much freedom. We weren't walked to a bus stop or picked up from school. Once we walked out in the morning they trusted we'd make it to school and we'd return at 3:45. The two facilities were far worse for my mental health. Very restrictive. I was allowed two outgoing phone calls a week. And it could be either to my mom or my dad. No one else. I committed no crime, had no pending charges, no reason for me to be treated this way. But that's how the vast majority of foster facilities are ran. Zero privacy or freedom, zero social ability, and zero access to any of my friends. Very very very unpleasant experience. Traumatic even. I was a changed person after leaving the system. For the worse. I'm gonna be 18 October 22 and I still need therapy after the separation anxiety and depression it introduced to my life. Just an insight.
Couldn’t agree more. Watched it on DVD last night. Especially at the part where he asks the man why he could feel pain. Before CGI babies put hands to it.
This is my ranking: 8)Seed of Chucky 7)Childs Play 3 6)Bride of Chucky 5)Childs Play 2019 4)Cult of Chucky 3) Childs Play 1988 2) Curse of Chucky 1) Childs Play 2
BRODON X I only did that because of how they tried to make it a cliffhanger but it just left me confused for 3 years. That just made it so weird. I also like seed just a little because of the design, aesthetic and, comedy
