he has nothing in common with hitler. Maybe you mistake him for his son? Though even his son was just a dictator, he did not genocide anyone and wasn't a nazi
Well this actually helps since I wanted to expand my pallet of classic books and wanted to know what each one was generally about, and now I have some reading to do!
I'm very interested in horror. So i picked up horror classics at the book store. Like jurassic park, Dracula, phantom of the opera (love the movie version), The stange case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde (love the play with Anthony Warlow), And an "classic horror stories" edition book
I honestly love how much of an outlier Beowulf is compared to the other Classics. It doesn't have anything profound to say about society, morality, or human nature. It's not some witty satire that makes us question our values, beliefs, and traditions. It's not even all that emotionally compelling. But for a shameless wish-fulfillment fantasy it incredibly well-written, and that's what makes it timeless.
When you eventually describe "Wednesday" in one sentence: "The show where fans ship the goth Latina with perky white girl because the male love interests are boring af."
I'm intrigued that there's a modern example of two different authors writing their own versions of the same story. At least, in such a way that they stand out so much (to say nothing of anybody's nth reinterpretation of King Arthur or whatever).
I remember seeing a Reddit thread about disturbing non-horror books and all the book were listed in this video lol. Also I never thought anyone would use the words “poetic yelp review” to describe Dante’s inferno 😭
if you thought 100 years of solitude was nonsensical you should read hopscotch by julio cortázar (both were made by southamerican authors around the same era)
for the hunchback of notredame,, Esmeralda ( is that also her name in the book? ) is Romani. However, she is called a gypsy ( a slur for her people I believe ) because of the time period, I think it’s fine to use in reference to the book?? Idk though, I’m not Romani.
I have no mouth and I must scream: AI becomes the biggest hater known to mankind and destroys humanity expect for 5 humans, *just to literally make them suffer for the AI's entertainment for 109 flippin' years.*

@@AbuSABHD No probs. It originated when the Romani people (cousins of Indians and other South Asians) traveled to Europe. The Europeans believed they came from Egypt, and so the slur "Gypsy" was born, among other harmful Romani stereotypes like fortune telling
