This reminded me of an old sonic 1 mod where you had to pay rings to do everything thing in the game even for starting the game you had to pay rings and you could get some from the demo mode that plays at the starting screen.

Why didn't you collect the invisibility monitor at the end of green hill 3? It makes the wrecking ball boss very easy (especially in the og version because for some reason Taxman decided it was a good idea to make you wait before you can attack the boss) get it, Taxman, no? Alright.
