Helping a friend who went through a horrible flood in her condo last week . For most of us , this is our worst nightmare . It was crazy to witness with my own eyes !
I am the bottom floor of three stories. I have lived here for 17 years and I have had multiple floods due to incidents upstairs. I feel her pain. Thank you for being so kind and helping her.
Exposed wires and water there's an issue... but these condos are built to building codes/specifications with certified electricians... wires are properly insulated... it's like having the Fox plugged in at a campground and it's pouring down rain... sorry to hear your friend has to deal with all this... glad you're able to help out and give support! ❤❤❤
It happens - the joys of homeownership. I have had leaks in apartments but for my house - sewer line became plugged in the road. I had to get 3 plumbing companies to come in and jet the line plus up/down the street line. Then fix my line. It's going to be ok Tay - ServPro or similar companies can repair your unit to its original glory. Your homeowner insurance policy should cover it. Also if you would like replacement artwork for your walls - I can hook you up with some original pieces.
mold and mildew, needs to be abated also. luckily we live on the 2nd floor, but still had a small leak, when they were giving us a new roof, it rained before completed, and it leaked but only in room, and not too bad. good luck for your friend.
A couple of years ago there was an issue with the plumbing in another condo that caused the pipe to need to be replaced. being on the ground floor they had to drill into the concrete and then dig up the pipe. Luckily it was mostly in closets and slightly in the hallway. The condo paid for everything and we did get a new wooden flow out of it.
Just went through it about a year ago. It took about 4 months to finish it. Luckily it was just my vacation condo and not my main residence. I wish her luck.
I’d have them buy you out. I’d never live in that place again. That’s like smashing a new car and having one person completely strip it and someone else piecing it back together. It’ll never be the same
That really sucks Taylor! Use the insurance money and rent a camper! You’ll save a bunch and you can get a paid vacation so to speak. Just a thought. I’d love to see you out adventuring in a rig again.
Not just condo owners, people who live in apartments as well. I’ve been through a battle with the management company as well as the property owner when I went through a similar situation with a apartment I rented. That’s why homeowners insurance is mandatory.
