Thanks for covering this. I realize this is an old game and has a lot of content both from mods and on RU-vid, but I only started playing last year and I appreciate more current videos on it.
Oh, trust me, now's a great time to get into Skyrim. There are SO many tools out for modding now, with detailed tutorials. Even better, most of the kinks are either already worked out or easily tracked down with a basic google search. Why not benefit from years of effort from talented gamers who have spent years making Skyrim even better? Enjoy.
Soul Cloak may be the most useful thing added by a mod. I hate the hassle of either needing a separate weapon with soul trap or needed to use the spell before attacking. It just makes this so much simpler. Also as a side note on the Dremora Churl, you can summon it, it dies and summons for the enemy, you can then kill it and it summons again for you. It is also a fun way to practice stuff because it keeps getting re-summoned by you if you kill it, try out new spells etc.
Oh, that's a great idea! It's like a training spell. I've been wondering when something like that could pop up. I may even use that for future demos. Thanks for the idea!
So with ordinator, you can also have a bunch of skeleton (mages), if you then use power of the master in combo with sotha’s maelstrom from the alteration tree, your enemies will be dead in seconds i recon
Great vid, thanks. There are so many spells it's great to see them in action before buying them. Here's an interesting combo: Use the Deadeye Captain to store a high health corpse, then pop the corpse out when facing a tough enemy and use corpse explosion. Kind of like a corpse mine, if you will. Cheers!
I found out that if you kill your avenging wraith, it gains 150% of your stats as well, that way if something small does kill it you can always rebuff them again. Makes my conjuring vampire knight build that much more powerful, lots of HP and MP for a very tanky wraith when needed.
Oathbound Guardian may create the guardian under your ally’s control, but it still can receive power of the master from you. Also, ‘ally’ does not mean only your followers, it also applies to guards, soldiers and the like. I found this quite amusing when I gave each imperial a storm-cloaked minion before battle.
You're welcome :) I've overlooked some of these spells for months now, so it was time for a detailed review to make sure I didn't miss out on some really cool spells. Definitely worth the time to go through them all. Enjoy!
I just discovered you lol. Im really enjoying your Skyrim spells content, would you do Skyrim Arcanum next starting with the new Conjuration spells? Subscribed and liked!
8:22 I found an item in a Pathfinder game I play in that lets me do this. I had a necromancer with a Strength score of 7 so just the shirt on his back almost made him over-encumbered, and my little belt that let me turn things into felt patches and stick them on was a wonderful way of carrying corpses for emergencies.
Nice :) I love seeing the modded spells that echo the functionality of spells from D&D or Pathfinder. So much fun, and they let you bring your D&D or Pathfinder characters to life in the Skyrim universe. If you haven't tried the Ordinator Perk mod, there's a Conjuration perk tree that enables you to assemble a small army of skeletons that last a looooong time ;)
Hahaha, thanks. It was a great view, for the brief second I was airborne :) I love the idea a mount that can fight alongside you, and even scare away weaker opponents. Horses are great, but even the war horses in the middle ages were taught to bite and kick!
These summons are much more interesting and powerful than the original spells. They basically become obsolete. Btw just a hint for you, if you are testing something you don't need to go find enemies. It's time consuming and the design of dungeons are not so good for this. Just go to a clearing and use the player.placeatme command. You can create an enemy of your choice next to you.
I love your vids. Beside adding an ounce of editing, video chapters would be a great feature so that viewers can see the spell names and re-watch the parts that they are interested in.
Noted. That is something I've been meaning to learn how to do. Should be simple. Almost done jury-rigging a new load order for mod showcases. Then I'll look into that :)
@@Sethiroth_Gaming Thanks. I don’t know how much work it is since I’ve made 0 youtube videos to date , but it would be nice ! Once of my NY resolutions is to actually publish a video.
@@Sethiroth_Gaming You might already have done these, but Triumvirate and ODIN spell mods. I have the TAO spell mod setup of Triumvirate , Apocalypse, and ODIN spell mods together.
I love the Conjuration in this mod. Able to heal, back up, give them buffs, all the interaction it´s so amazing. By the way, what music mod are you using?
You have a good ear :) The music and sound mods I'm using are "Immersive Sounds - Compendium" (www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/523) and "Fantasy Soundtrack Project" (www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/5268). For the latter, I chose to combine their music with the vanilla songs, but you can completely replace them with new stuff if you want. Enjoy!
Deadeye captian is the best for sure. My fav modded companion Sha died when i was 20 levels below getting a modded spell that i could fully bring a npc back to life (fully. Not as a thrall)). Adds huge RP elements to the game at that point
i always come back to your vids when i start another mage playthrough lord of bindings is my favorite simply because it stays back and completely overwhelms enemies a giant and mammoth were struggling with 10 of those lil guys spawning
Found the conjure kyrkrim spell, took it, didn't find it in inventory. Played few hours, suddenly it was in inventory and I tried to activate it, it got equipped instead of learned, no spell appeared but suddenly the kyrkrim just appeared. I was like yes finally a proper mount. Me and it died to first stone bump on the road. Kyrkrim is nowhere to be found, no spell and does not appear anymore. :/
@@AndrewJohnson-ny5nx I'm sorry :( At least you can now literally bury Naziem's corpse beneath your heals? I think that glitch kicks in whenever there is too much in change in elevation, but don't quote me on that.
Brilliant idea and the sole reason I'm about to start another playthrough! "Do you get to the Living District often? Oh, what am I saying; OF COURSE YOU DON'T MOTHER-FKER!! 🤣🤣
@@AndrewJohnson-ny5nx Keeping Nazeem in deep storage isn’t a bad idea. You should let him out whenever you’re in the Cloud District. Just for old time’s sake.
After playing with Apocalypse for like 100 hours now, i think conjugation has sadly been given the shortest stick. Just about every spell is just a reflavor of the basic generic vanilla daedra. Or maybe a spell to buff those guys. Where are the spells that conjure armor? Why can't we actually conjure a warm bed to sleep in while trespassing? Why can't we conjure a majestic ethereal steed? (I know that the dawnguard dlc does this, but that horse sucks ass and is the most ugly purple) Dont get me wrong, i LOVE this mod and the destruction, illusion and alteration spells are so good. This mod is especially great in concert with ordinator. But it just kinda feels like conjuration didnt recieve the same creativity and love as the other schools. We should be able to conjure a portal to teleport us to the nearest AND wealthiest merchant while overencumbered.
I wish the daedra were elemental-based, visually. I've never liked the idea of a summoner who is only as powerful as what he can summon, so I always pretend an ice atronach is actually an ice golem created and controlled by you, same thing with other summons. So it's not a conscious creature you've randomly dragged from another world to bail you out, but is instead created and actively controlled like a puppet. Also I've always thought the daedra look silly as fuck
Unfortunately, what you said is entire point of summoning. That also works similarly with Illusion. Otherwise you would be using Destrucrion and/or Alteration to get the job done. I prefer Conjuration and Illusion because it requires thought when you add in mods. Whereas Destruction is just unloading on the targets, Alteration is mainly Defensive and Utility, and Restoration is based on life force. The only instance of creation of creatures that has been seen deals largely with necromancy.
Nope, looks like you'll have to look somewhere else for that piercing effect. At the end of my Alteration video for Apocalypse there's a spell that summons spikes out of the ground. That's the closest I can think of, off the top of my head. Definitely check out the reddit boards and the mod nexus for a spell mod that does that though, because I bet someone has thought of a similar design by now... Fingers crossed!
I have a question about the battlemage. When summoned, they have a pair of glass "wings" behind/around their heads with similar appearance to the blades of a glass battle-axe, if memory serves. I've seen a few NPCs enemies in my game with these as well. I'm wondering if there's a perk that unlocks this ability because I'm adamant they aren't carrying glass battle-axes.
You got me on that one. Best bet would be to use the creation kit to open up the Battlemage's file and look at his inventory / textures. It's probably a set of battleaxes textures that a few modders and shared among themselves. That's just a guess though. Hopefully it can point you in the right direction. Good luck!
i made an rp build where the premise was i sold my soul to the lord of bindings and the over arching goal was to find and use the summoning spell to get your soul back and control the lord of bindings
Hey I really enjoyed your video. Not sure if you can help with this, but the icon in the top right corner that shows the summoned minion health/decay rate has disappeared. Do you know how to fix that?
I believe those icons come from the mod SkyUI? If It's no longer showing your active spell effects you can 1) update to the latest version of SkyUI 2) check the MSM to see if there's a setting you need to click to re-activate that feature 3) start a new load order with only SkyUI installed. If SkyUI works alone, then you know the issue is probably coming from another mod that's conflicting with it. If SkyUI still doesn't work, alone, then you probably need to reinstall the latest version. Hope this helps!
Nice! It really motivates you to keep that monster alive too. Don't want a lucky bandit arrow to finish off that beast and turn it back into a proverbial kitten, lol :)
@@Okashwap *forehead palm* I think you're right! The one downside of testing mods is its surprisingly difficult to finish some of the higher level playthroughs. I haven't run a full Dawnguard playthrough in years. Once I've done some spring cleaning on my load order, I may do that for my next playthrough, once I finish the Undeath walkthrough. That would be a fun change of pace :)
@@Sethiroth_Gaming yes, arvak is in the soul cairn in the dawnguard dlc. you get a small quest to find his skull and then have a summoned skeleton horse mount.
Huh. I have no idea! I mean, as long as you had a way to put empty soul gems in their inventory, it should work, right? Would the game glitch and give each participant a filled soul stone when on creature died? Because you'd have multiple people capturing the same soul... I don't know, that would be fun to test out!
@@Sethiroth_Gaming definitely hey mind if I make a mod showcase request? I've seen people talk about this mod but I haven't seen any of the spells for it its called mysticism magic overhaul showcase
Some of the best Conjuration spells are locked away based on your Conjuration skill level. Don't expect to buy expert level spells if your Conjuration skill is too low. Also, I believe most Master Level spells are locked away, until you finish Phinis' Master Quest (the Ritual Summon), which you gain access to once your Conjuration skill gets high enough (I think it's around level 95). Keep in mind, you'll earn a spell tome of "flame thrall" after finishing that quest, and you must LEARN THAT SPELL before Phinis will offer you his Master levels spells. I finished the quest, before actually learning the spell, and was super confused because I couldn't buy any Master level spells from him. Once I learned the Flame Thrall spell though, then I was able to buy them all from Phinis. Hope this helps!
@@jsjshshsj6202 Hahaha, no worries. I realized I hadn't bothered with his quest myself, ran straight to him, and stood there just as confused as you. I had 100 conjuration, why on earth couldn't I get to those spells!
Isnt the idea behind the avenging wraith a bit too OP? basically a novice spell that can summon a ghost with 150% stronger than anything you're fighting, fighting a ultraendgame hard boss? 150% stronger than that, it feels like a one summon to end it all, why bother with other summons at this point?
That's a good point. It's certainly a spell that can be used in an "over-powered" fashion. The downside of that spell is that when you're up against multiple weaker opponents, then your wraith can get killed by somethings squishy and you loose your "uber powerful" wraith. You'd have to, in essence, save it for only boss battles, in order to guarantee a powerful summon each time. At that point, if you run combat mods like mine, there are still swarms of little guys that can kill you, thus keeping that spell pretty well restricted, but that's just my take on it.
Well, if you live that long. While the stats are increased it doesn't guarantee a win. In the game I have been rushed by enemies and they are normally hard hitting...
