• EVERY COUNTRY IN AFRIC...
This is the second video of a 6 part series where we covered Guinea, Egypt, Uganda, Rwanda, Morocco, Senegal, Djibouti, Eswatini. The video is an informative guide to Africa and African countries.
It seeks to reverse sweeping generalizations that regard Africa as a monolithic country. In fact, Africa is a continent, the second biggest continent in the world, with 54 individual countries.

Hello again. I'm watching many of your videos recently. I had a thought for you, if you read this comment. It occurs to me that one of the problems Africa faces - and where channels like yours can help most - is the widespread lack of knowledge and understanding of WHO Africans are. Videos like this one seem aimed at non-Africans and break down some of the misconceptions and generalizations - which are a big problem for the kind of mutual understanding that international collaboration needs to work. But ... the political boundaries and countries are one thing. It would be such a help to so many people who want to understand Africa so much better to have educational videos about the diversity WITHIN and ACROSS those borders. If you are interested, here are some video ideas which I think you'd get "a lot of clicks and views" on. - Individual videos on major cultural groups (the Ewe cultures, the Akan cultures, the Khoisan ...), their uniquely pre-colonial cultures (art, music, religion, tradition, values) but also what they face now as a people (dying language, urbanization, desertification, conflict with other groups) and if they were transformed by colonial or modernizing forces like Christianity/Islam/slavery/trade - Individual videos on the "major moments" in earlier African history. Great Zimbabwe. The Mali Empire. The Songhay empire. Etc. Aksum, the Kingdom of Punt, Zanzibar... - Individual videos on major "modern developments" in Africa now. For example, how much are modern African identities replacing traditional cultural ones in the fast-developing fast cities. And what about those other cities that aren't developing, what's happening there? Sorry for another long message. I know I'm just a stranger to you from another continent. But, I'm also a history professor (who studies and teaches European history, not African), so I thought maybe you would welcome a friendly tip from someone who would like to see you do well on RU-vid.

Why should it be mandatory to Western schools......is mandatory for you to lean about western countries in your country?
@rafetna21
@rafetna21 3 года назад
@@albertonderah1455 yes it is. Our school system is extremely diverse and hard. am from Senegal and we have 17 subjects in middle and high school. Everybody going to school here can tell you a thing or 2 about every continent and we learn about the history of Europe, America and Asia. and contrary to many other continents, everyone in Africa speaks a minimum of 2 languages. In here we have our mother tongues (7 differents ones depending on the area), 2nd we have French which is the official language with which we study in school, 3rd we have English which is a requirement nowadays from primary school (it used to be middle and high school) and 4th we have the option to chose between Spanish, Italian, German, etc depending on the school you attend; but note that 90% of schools will offer only Spanish as a 4th. Also because we are mostly muslim, we have a little knowledge of arabic (a lot can read it, some can understand it and a few can speak it). for example I am fluent or proficient in Wolof; French; English; Spanish a tiny bit of arabic and also fluent in Chinese that is started 2 years ago; even though my major is finance.
@rafetna21
@rafetna21 3 года назад
@@albertonderah1455 And believe me coming from a senegalese like me that grew up in my country with our educational system, studied in Boston for my bachelors degree and studied in the middle east for my masters degree, I have been around quite a lot of countries, culture, religion and much more, I think a lot of countries could use a diversified educational system because in life you never know where you will end up and having a little bit of general knowledge will give you an edge in every single field. Hope my explanation is detailed enough and did help a bit 😊
@tatianavargicova2074
@tatianavargicova2074 3 года назад
@@albertonderah1455 I'm from Europe (Slovakia) and yes it was mandatory for us to learn about all the continents (including specifics for each country). Yet, somehow I ended up knowing very little about Africa. I was a very good student, but the way we were taught geography wasn't always the best. Even if I somehow succeeded in remember all factual information that was in my curriculum, my perception of Africa would still be very distorted. In my opinion, you an input from social media/pop-culture to be able to imagine life in particular country somewhat realistically, otherwise it would be just guesses based on your fantasy and stereotypes. This video was very informative and it would be great it was part of our geography classes.

Moroccan here, you forgot to mention that the oldest homosapiens was discovered in Morocco in Irhoud. You could have mentioned that Morocco is the biggest car manufacturer in Africa (600000 units/year in 2019) and has the fastest highspeed rail eventhough it is a French company but still worth mentioning and the most touristic in Africa. Also Couscous is an Amazigh/berber dish. We are called amazighs and not berbers (take a look at the constitution of Morocco and Algeria). Another thing to note is that the word Morocco comes from Marrakech which means the "land of God" in the Amazigh language. Cheers

It has been fascinating to learn snippets about each country. Thank you for producing this, I only wish I had found it sooner. I was fortunate that I was exposed to many of these cultures through my work as a construction crew leader for Habitat for Humanity. I helped to build homes for many refugee and immigrant families. They came from Sudan, Djibouti, and Ghana. We worked many hours alongside one another and I got to hear about their homelands and share in their traditional foods and celebrations. As an American we get very little to no history of Africa unless we seek it out. We also had families from Haiti, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Honduras. It was an amazing experience I will never forget that helped me see the world without leaving home..although I hope to eventually.

2/7! ⭐⭐! Thanks! Morocco's 🇲🇦 Atlas mountains, Djibouti's🇩🇯 financial income due to foreign military bases, Egypt's🇪🇬land border with Asia through Biblical Sinai Mountains, and much more. I dont know the pattern you have used to jump from one nation to next but not easy to tell what nations are covered in each of these 3 videos. One has to watch them on repeat to gather facts or take notes due to lack of alphabetical listing. Egypt's flag is one of the most difficult flags to memorise. Uganda's🇺🇬 flag is unique as it looks two tricolored flags placed on top of each other. Thanks again.🎉🎉🎉

@@RisenAfrica I watched the video on Nigeria. My first thought was, these are just facts that could be seen on the first page on Nigeria's Wikipedia page. *I'm exaggerating. Then, I remembered that there is actually not much to be reported about Nigeria as compared to other African countries which you did good work on. This reply is not to undermine your work in any way. I wouldn't do that. It was just a rude awakening to me. By the way, I watched all three parts and loved all of them ❤ Keep up the good work!
