@@mariaal-tidafe6201 On Trenzalore, the Doctor rejuvenated back to young before he regenerated into 12, the reason he didn’t immediately regenerate into 12 and instead went young before changing, was because that was the Doctor’s 13th regeneration, and thus broke Timelord physiology. If he had regenerated countless times before, he would not have done that. They enter the Doctor’s timeline multiple times, the only time the “Timeless Child” has existed, is in Chibnall’s reign of terror. You believe Chibnall all you want, I’ll continue to respect the previous dozen seasons of New Who that make it undeniable that he is not a Timelord.

The doctor dies, but the actor doesnt. Then the actor dies, but the show doesn't. Then show dies, but the fandom doesn't. Then the show comes back to life, and brings back Ian at 80 years old, just to show how young AND old the show is simultaneously. Life is short, and yet that is why they say "So long" when they pass.
I mean, 12 claims to be over 2000 years old, and depending on if you count the fact that he says remembers all the lives he lived in the prison dial, then even just by the end of Clara and 12, the doctor is over 4.5 billion.

The 12th Doctor was only 2000-something upon death, something that's been confirmed many times since with the 13th Doctor saying they were around 2000 as well.

I don't remember the exact line, but I believe he said along the lines of "of course this makes sense" when he was regenerating as if he said "my time has come". I mean, he was very old and weary at that point so it's only logical for him to "die" from being old & exhausted
Exactly! He died by medical malpractice. Not only was the surgery done without consent of the patient (and without any real evidence to suggest immediate risk to the patient's health), it was also done in spite of evidence that such a procedure would pose a significant health risk! They make jokes about it in the DVD commentary. Grace killed the Doctor, and she's not the only one at fault. The Doctor has really good grounds to sue that entire hospital! Well, except for the fact that he technically has no rights, as he is not human or animal, nor a citizen of any country or territory, and so therefore any action against him is technically perfectly legal.
@@themightybob listen to the dialogue in the surgery. There were only a few bullets in him, and all pretty much in his shoulder. They removed them, and then did a second exploratory surgery to figure out why his heart was beating twice as fast as normal. THAT surgery killed him, and the anaesthetic nearly destroyed the regeneration.
The line ‘I don’t wanna go’ has so much more impact when you realise this was (technically) his 10th regeneration and he truly thought he was going to die.
Technically, the Doctor in EoT was his 12th regeneration since he vented the rest of his 11th regeneration (count includes the Warrior’s incarnation) into the Hand that became the metacrisis… hence 11 (MS) was actually 13 and thought that he was facing his final death…

It’s weird how each regeneration has a different life span, the 1st doctor died of old age however lived for 450 years, the war doctor died of old age and lived for 800 years and then the 11th doctor died of old age but lived for 1100ish years. Seems like the older he gets the longer his new bodys can last naturally
Time lords are fundamentally immortal they simply age on their first and last incarnations the only reason the war doctor aged was because he was on gallifrey and the time lords did age and regeneration on gallifrey that way they couldn’t abuse their power

Uh, Paul Mcgann had 17 years between the TV Movie and his regeneration, He is very clearly a lot older when he regenerates. Also, there's some debate over how Canon the expanded universe is if at all.
Hold on. Do doctors have regeneration certificates and every time you regen, you have to replace all your documents and get possibility to have a new name. Maybe that's why the Doctor don't have a name, he can't register and he keeps changing bodies so he never find the time to have a good name that suit him other than his title.
I thought it was due to complications because Grace didn’t realise he has a binary vascular system, whereas the anaesthetic delayed regeneration and caused short-term retrograde amnesia.
Yeap it was due to the complications of the surgery, not just the anesthetic. He was heavily injured from the gunshots, but came back to consciousness during the surgery. He realized the operation they were doing was for humans, and tried to tell them it would kill him but they just sedated him and the operation failed.
None of the doctors die. It was even clearly stated by the 9th doctor that its a way to cheat death. Meaning they dont die but their personality changes and so does their look
One thing most failed to realise is the doctor actually died in that ship and was resurrected by the sisterhood of Khan, he literally died with no hope of regeneration, the war doctor was born from death, and brought death, became it, and then died both physically and in his soul, leaving the 9th doctor with extreme PTSD
The First Doctor got a conga line of physiological trauma. The first blow was the Time Destructor. Second blow was the Toymaker disappearing him. The third blow was when his energy was sapped in _The Savages._ Then came Mondas...
Never confuse "Your" with "Our" - unless you genuinely believe you speak for everyone. I see many people groaning over the return of Not-10, and while I have nothing against 10 or Tennant - they're great - but he has never been my Doctor, nor was Donna ever my companion. The saving grace is that they're simply coming back for a few specials before the show moves on.

The 10th Doctor died twice, first time being shot by a Dalek, but he managed to use a one-time-only circumstance to fix the damage without regenerating and stored the extra energy in his severed hand (which became another 10th Doctor)
Imagine going to a timelord highschool reunion. They ask "you seemed to have regenerated last time I saw you, what happened?" And you reapond with, "I hit my head on my tardis console."

The sentinel ball was a targeted hit and I’m not mad about it. Haven’t watched the show since the start of S12 but will happily sit down for David’s return
That proves the 11th doctor is one of the most powerful and could not be defeated or killed by anything else meaning he is the best doctor showing how many he has defeated especially the weeping angels the worst entities to face ever.
I honestly don't remember that scene where 12 is electrocuted. I thought he got shot by the laser of one of the mondasian cybermen, and then bill carried him back to the TARDIS and died-ish. Although I see how him getting electrocuted could fit into the story Edit: just watched it back. Earlier in the episode when both masters are there after they reveal bill is a cyberman now, he does get hugged by the cyberman and electrocuted, but bill lasers the cyberman and he is saved. He actually starts regenerating when he gets lasered (twice) at the end of the episode and blows everything up.
I should probably also mention that with a laser beam that size, there is absolutely no way that he/she can survive or regenerate from something like that. He himself admitted that he couldnt survive a volcano or severe electrocution. That laser beam is like a combination of both.
Only three of the Doctor’s bodies died of old age. If we assume a Time Lord’s natural lifespan is dying of old age thirteen times, then this would make the Doctor quite young by Time Lord standards (not counting the Timeless Child because fuck that).
And the Master used up all 13 regeneration by the time the Doctor was on his 4th.Nobody should go through that many bodies in that short of a lifespan.
I suppose after listing the causes of all the doctors’ deaths-they could say the 14th doctor died after being hit by a laser- but he survived and was split into two doctors!😂😂😂😂😊😊😊

The second doctors regeneration is really horrifying, like he quite literally gets executed by the time lords. I kind of wish the Time lords were this terrifying beyond the war games
Can someone explain to me why whenever I see people talking about the longest running TV show of all time, they always just say The Simpsons when it is obviously Doctor Who. I rarely see anyone bring it up and I'm beyond befuddled by this fact.
Well, it is a British show, so maybe it's just the American stand... Saying they have the longest running television show? Idk, it is Doctor Who, however, starting in 1963, November.
@DoctorWhoShorts That was me and my fiancé's theory as well. We assumed that because it wasn't an American show, that they just disregarded it altogether. Which, though idiotic, is par for the course for the USA to do, so... 🤣🤣🤦♀️
I'm not sure if it's been canonized but in big finish, they ended up giving context to 6 last moments and he also dies from radiation. It's a great audio listen.
I agree however it goes to show that capaldi was objectively better than Jodie because A lot of Peter’s scripts where pretty half baked yet his sheer powerhouse performance as the doctor easily made him top 3 in a lot of peoples lists when it comes to the doctor. Jodie on the other hand simply wasn’t talented enough to carry the show.
@@michaelkean5969both Capaldi and Whittaker were great actors given bad scripts, the difference is that Chibnall's episodes just sucked overall while Moffat's sucked because he insisted on making Clara the most important character in the Whoniverse to the detriment of The Doctor; once she was written out Capaldi got to shine without being upstaged constantly by Moffat's Mary Sue but Whittaker never really got that chance

11th Doctor didn't died because of old age, he regenerate because of the new regenerative cycle that Time Lords gave him, that reset his young appearance and trigger the regeneration
