Look, I know that credit cards are a controversial topic, especially in the Ramsey world. But many EveryDollar users aren't Ramsey followers.
At Craig Dacy Financial Coaching, our philosophy is that personal finance is personal- and it's up to each individual to decide their own money story and proactively work toward it.
So, if you are someone that uses a credit card and pays it off each month, here is how you can track it inside of EveryDollar.

We use a credit card for EVERYTHING but also pay it off each week. We earn about $1,000 in cash from points per year. I just started EveryDollar and appreciate this video. 😁

Thanks so much! Do you keep records of the amounts you deducted as the credit charges were made, in another place beside this app, so that you have a total you know has been tracked on the app so far, or just whatever $ amount shows up that week on the credit card, you pay that and figure that it’s going to show up on your app one way or another??

Hooray! You confirmed what I thought was the right way to handle credit card transactions! DELETE the payments. And yes, I pay my credit cards weekly if not more often! Thanks, Craig.

I've noticed if a transaction is pending on the CC and I assign it to a category, then when the transaction is completed approx 5 days later sometimes it wants me to assign to a category again. Any tips on avoiding duplicate transactions? I never had this issue with Mint.

Great vid! Random question - what brand/color is the green wall behind you? Looks nice!

We are at the end of our trial and I love that it all syncs. However, I need help understanding the CC transactions. I have them synced more to track paying them off. I need help understanding why you deleted the payment portion that you would allocate to that specific credit card as “income”. I understand the “duplicating” the transactions (or purchases you make on the cc). I am wondering if this is affecting my budget; I am seeing duplicates but they are both the transactions. For example, my car payment is in my budget once (and the balance.owed is listed under debt under that bank), but it shows in the paycheck planner twice!

Just in case others had the same problem PTL! It was because I was “planning” under the spend under “debts” too!
