The virgin Chosen undead: Noooooooooo! You can't parry anything that is not humanoid, it wouldn't make any sense. The Chad Ashen one: Crab attacks I parry! The Giga Chad Bearer of the curse: Parries Spider, Pig, deform monster and an elephant.
These guys are free, if u just walk through, climb the ladder at the top, maybe get hit once, but they will both fall down and die trying to hit you. You dont HAVE TO fight them but it's a fun fight imo :)
I swear: when I parry someone they get mad and send hate mail. Then they call me a parry spammer while I actually got the parries off and they couldn't. Fcking casuls. Especially if you parry someone's twinblades...they get so mad
Imagine invading this guy then just seeing him parry the GIANT CRAB, like after that you just gotta crystal out because you know they're gonna annihilate you.
10:19 In my headcanon this guy stood there since the great demon war with Gwyn, fighing endless hordes of demons for thousands of years and then all of the sudden an unkindled, a walking manifestation of failure, just shows up, parries him and proceeds to point down or some shit
You missed a few. -Overgrown lothric knight with GS -Pyromancer zoey can be parryed, flame fan is the only pyromancy you can parry -Orbeck of carim, magic sword can be parryed like the flame fan You also missed the scholar blue lothric knights with sword, UGS and spear, but they are just more lothric knights
@NKane He clearly states on Lorian that Lorian can only be riposted if guard is broken, and is in no way related to parrying him. But chose to add Lorian anyways. Proving that he understands the distinction and the distinction is made within the video itself. Many enemies can be riposted through guard break. Therefore yes, it should count. The video deals with parries. Riposte is a different thing altogether that just so happens to oftentimes go hand in hand with a parry.
It's possible to get partial parries on a plethora of attacks. Getting a full, in the flesh parry is a different story for some enemies, like SoC. It's entirely possible he did, and it's not too uncommon.
Huh, I always thought that if the enemy is 2-handing a weapon, I won’t be able to parry him. Like Ultra Greatsword, or Great Hammer. I guess this doesn’t really apply in PvE.
@@karlkarlson875 6:09 this says otherwise Edit: PvP rules apply to the humans (ultra r1 r2 can't be parried while 2 handed) but things get screwy for everything else.
Great hammers, Ultra Greatswords, and the like all cannot be parried while they 2 hand the weapon, unless it's the running r1 or rolling r1. That is if the model of enemy, similar to Eygon, is that of a player character. Also, the guy who said you can parry jumping attacks is wrong. You cannot parry any jumping attacks from any weapon under any circumstances.
every npc that has the same model as the player can be parried, just not the npcs that has an ultra two handed, that you can only parry it's rolling attack
The fking book can be parried? Bruh that attack is so annoying like yeah let me just interupt your attack with my warp 3 book because why the fuck not.
Best feeling i had on a new character was luring the swordmaster into falling off the cliff. I dont know how it took me 8 characters until i got this idea.
I found some guy who spent actual months trying to convince me that most enemies in dark souls 3 can’t be parried and kept using certain enemies as an example even though said enemy is one of the easiest enemies on the game to parry I also had no idea you could parry the greater crab assuming this isn’t some “ouroboros parries the world” situation
That screaming when he died is actually the manliest voice in the entire series the only one I would consider at his level is Gyoubu oniwa (I just realized this from your comment)
Edit: I would like to say you guys make good points thanks for the feedback But a parry definition is to counter attack so if you can parry the attack but cant get a riptose it technically dosint count so he didn’t miss it
Btw the “fancy animation” is called a riptose (not trying to sound mean just letting you know) but in the video he only showed the parry and the ripsote because in dark souls a parry is also a riptose there’s no point of a parry if you can’t riptose so he’s not gonna show dragonslayer armor parry
I love the cuts to the next part that just barely play the whole clip. There's something hilarious about seeing an enemy get parried, have a giant sword swing at them, then cutting to the next clip. Love it
With some enemies like the crystal lizard in the beginning and the giant crabs, if you hit them enough in rapid succession it makes the parry sound. That means they were guard broken and you can go in for a reposte. You can parry Lorian and get a few hits in but you can’t do an actual reposte unless he’s guard broken. You can also guard break the demon prince but you can’t actually parry him so he’s not in this video. Edit: typo fix.
Also, with the crabs and the Corvian Knights (the clawed one, at least) you can stun them out of particular attacks. I've had the best luck at this with the Claymore.
Of all the polish in these games, I always found it jarring how parrying snaps enemies to a super chill, hands down position after just being knocked back
Skuggra: you can parry this guy, and this, and this, and this... *random player invades* and this... Huh, I can't actually remember this kind of mobs in the area... Anyway, and this...
Usually the rule of thumb in the dark souls series when it comes to parrying; if you can backstab your opponent, then it's most likely you can parry him too. Note: this is a Broad spectrum of one of the rules of parrying. There's plenty of enemies that you can parry, but not backstab.
Second rule is: not all attacks can be parried. Third: not all parries are logical, some are really weird and you can see the animation glitch out in some cases (like parrying evanghelist's left swing, only for the abimation to show the mace going to the right lol .
@@susaac9755 it's all about practice and getting down timing. I can parry very well in dark souls 1, but cant in dark souls 2. (I hate the parry mechanics in dark souls 2, because I feel the parry frames are off) in dark souls 3, I think I can, given time, which is a lot, due to increased speed of things.
I've been playing this game since 2016 ya know it's release and I'm just now finding out you can parry the Rider Knight qnd the CRAB of all things, nice vid
>all foes that can be parried Neat. I suppose all attacks that can be parried would be too troublesome (even if you leave the realm of NPCs). Then there are special riposte states to consider (like plunging setting up crabs or just being near enough during one of their moves). >Hollow Servant >Outrider >Greater Crab >Lycanthrope >Demon Cleric >Chain Snek >Harald Legion Duly noted. >Crystal Sage It hurts me to see that even spell parry won't work against his Flashsword. >Gravetender's jump attack Didn't think that was open to it. >Tall and Fat Deacons Seems a shame that not even NG+ gives BP versions of them sprinkled around the level (perhaps with another Archdeacon mini-boss placed to all upon the boss abilities like a Curse ball or Great Curse Mist). Really needed to channel DaS2 here (just didn't). >Ghru Leaper not on list Actually immune to parry, is he? >Lorian Ah, yes. Parry without riposte. That's what it was.
Great video man, thanks for sharing. Haven’t played this in a couple of years but parrying definitely makes the game a lot more enjoyable and highly satisfying when you pull them off. The crabs are a new one on me. Also, i can’t deny I had mild heart palpitations seeing Sister Freide again.
