Since The Son was supposedly the living embodiment of the Dark Side and his lightning was red , that would obviously imply that red is the strongest form .
This is pretty much saying because someone is strong, they would only use the strongest form of something. ie: I'm a world champ, so I wipe my butt with fission bombs for cleanliness...
It could be the fact he is the embodiment of the dark side of the force, neither good or evil. While Sidious choose the dark side for power and other malicious intentions, which may further corrupt. Or even possibly the Son wasn’t using his full power.
Lightning is from focused anger, not really hate, though either works. You can be angry and be on the Light side, there is such a thing as "righteous anger", but that's a thin line to walk.
You mean destroy droid/disrupt machine, it's been discussed before but it's actually a arcing ionized beam of force, so fundamentally different abilities course didn't stop the legends Jedi council from outlawing it's use because of how closely it resembled force lightning
No force judgement is covered in this video as a light side variant of force lightning, disrupt machine was a wholly different force ability that because of its ionic nature was extremely effective at combatting mechanical systems but in essence was a different force technique from lightning
Another great video! Force Lightning has always been such an interesting power. Regardless of color, it's always been a terrifying thing to see. Especially with the way Palpatine purely enjoys using it on people. His heart is definitely so hateful that he takes pleasure in torturing people with it.
I've seen quite a few videos about Force Lightning now and admittedly it's one of my favourite Force abilities. Nothing beats the catharsis of using it in SWTOR on some smug Alderaanian to teach him some proper manners. But while we're at the topic of SWTOR: what about some of the more obscure Dark Side Force Powers? Could you imagine doing a lore video about the Dread Masters for example and how they specifically specialized in weaponizing supernatural fear and terror? Or how they and several other Dark Lords used Sith Alchemy to not only create monsters but even outright terraform entire planets like Oricon? I always found those aspects really fascinating and especially the Dread Masters always had such a menacing atmosphere about them that they felt like they weren't people, or Sith or even 'normal' Force Users but more akin to demons. Nothing but pure malice and fear and powers of the Dark Side I've so far never seen being reproduced by any other Force user.
The red lightning of Darth Nihilus can not only sever a connection with the force, but disintegrate. Now what about the gold lightning of Darth Vitiate?
Ok, sweet. I'm not the only one that remembers the gold lightning. I think Stupendous Wave did a video a while back about Force Lightning and it fearured the gold variant. I seem to remember that Luke also used a gold variant... In Legends, i think. I think it was also in that video, but it's been a long time now... i may be misremembering this part.
@@danieldavis6288 I couldn't find a video on Luke using gold but I did find one of him using red - and no mention of him using yellow or "emerald." It's just an older version of the video of this thread from 5 years ago. It seems Luke's ability with lightning has been retconned slightly. I'll keep looking for him using gold. I definitely remember Vitiate using gold. In the comments of this other video, someone mentioned Vitiate using black lightning. I don't remember that, but it wouldn't surprise me. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dCfcq70up7o.html
@@the_SolLoser I think I watched someone who said that the gold lightning was done by both Luke and leia against the yuuzhan vong leader who could not be bested by Luke’s emerald version of force lightning. With that in mind, the gold variation seems to on par (in terms of power) to that of purple force Lightning.
I think red is the most powerful due to the literal embodiment of the dark side used it and it's power against the father and the daughter who were celestials. Darth Tenebrous was also extremely skilled in the force to the point of a form of immortality according to one of Wave's recent videos. It's possible he discovered the secret to harness red lightning and didn't end up passing it down to his apprentice. Red was also capable of disintegration if I remember reading it correctly so it could be that Palpatine knew it but favored the second level of purple due to a longer death for his opponents before disintegration
Hey Mr.Wave. I just wanted to take the time to acknowledge and appreciate you. I've listened to you for about a year and a half maybe more now and I just wanted to say for the first time that I adore/acknowledge every video you make. You have made me more of a Star wars fan than I ever thought I could be and your work, time, and effort is amazing. So again.. Thank you.
And holy crap man I I just got to the part where it says that you're looking for an editor! So I'm definitely going to email you later tonight after my kid goes to sleep. I could definitely use something in my life that makes feel inspired and it would be amazing to be a part of something like this. Regardless, I hope you know how amazing you are and how much people appreciate you.
I’d like to argue that red lighting is more powerful than purple lighting The few people we see using red lighting was not using it with the purpose of killing the person The son in that instance was toying with Obi-Wan
One thing I was always curious about is why more Jedi didn’t try to use Force Judgment as it is a non-lethal variant of Force Lightning. This power would have been very handy during the Clone Wars because it could have easily shorted out the Droid Army of the CIS. One Jedi and a small battalion of Clones would have been all that was needed to stop the Droid Army cold on a single world. That also raises another question, Why Didn’t Plo Koon use Force Judgment more often when fighting in the Clone Wars? Seriously it would be a fast way to end a battle with minimal casualties, something a Jedi would want to do right? Am I the only one that wants answers to these questions?
Prismatic force lighting would be an interesting idea, being able to generate random colors of lighting with different effects, but un able to control which one is produced at anyone time. Or could dub it chaos force lightning.
I feel like the color of Force Lightning has a similar representation and meaning as the Lightsaber Colors. Blue is the Warrior color. An aggressive and offensive ability but one without any inherent evil or hatred. It is a weapon meant to wound and kill. Nothing more. Green is the Living color. It’s not entirely your own power because you gain strength from the life around you and you use that strength to protect not only yourself but the surrounding life that empowers you. Sometimes with extreme prejudice against the enemy threat. Yellow is the Pragmatic color. This not mainly a weapon but a tool to be used to accomplish your goals. It has many more practical uses, is more controllable but less powerful. Red is the Destruction color. A pure and true manifestation of the Dark Side of the Force. One untouched by the corruption of the Sith. Extremely lethal and destructive and yet not always evil or malicious. It is pure chaos and death. Raw, primal and uncontrollable emotion and power. A vital aspect of the Force and one that can bring renewal by burning away the old and bringing forth something new. Purple is the color of Hatred. The desire to watch everything burn and die before you, leaving nothing left. All consuming and extremely corruptive. A perfect representation of the unsustainable and the self destroying nature of the Sith and their twisted view of the Dark Side. Orange is the color of Tranquil Fury. The brutally efficient eradication of one’s enemies. There’s no hatred but also no mercy, only cold and calculated slaughter. Yet without a single unnecessary act of violence. No more or less then what is required to succeed. This is just my opinion though and my personal headcanon.
@@shadowcous Thanks 😊 I still am not sure what Black is supposed to mean. Although my best guess would be a feeling of emptiness or apathy since it’s devoid of any light and color. This is also for the Lightsaber color like the Darksaber.
I think you're spot on, actually, I can list the people who use each colour, and they all add up. Blue - Count Dooku, not even sure if it was classifiably a true sith lightning, he used them to disable opponents to void killing them. Green - Luke Skywalker, Mother Talzin. Luke used electric judgement as defence against yuuzhan vong, Talzin used it combined with ichor of Dathomir. Yellow - Plo Koon, again, electric judgement used to disable criminals. Red - The Son, Darth Tenebrous, Darth Desolous. The Son is a manifestation of the dark side, chaos incarnate. Darth Tenebrous and Darth Desolous are atypical Siths. Tenebrous is a heretical Sith who wish to conquer death itself, along with his apprentice, Plagueis. Desolous was a jedi fallen to the dark side, and an role model for being chaotic. Purple - Darth Sidious aka Palpatine, the guy is the Sithiest of the Sith, and an archetype sadist, enough said. Orange.....emmm I dont know.
I don't know if it's worth mentioning but Luke in the Force Unleashed Hoth dlc also uses red force lighting when fighting Starkiller. This has lead to the same theory that those extremely gifted/attuned in the darkside like The Brother and Darth Tenebrous are naturally attuned to use force lightning. Red force lightning being a sort of trait where no amount of training will allow you to achieve it even if you're as skilled with it as Sidious or Starkiller and his clone. Where as soon as you unlock force lightning, it's already red. I look at it the same way as the green super saiyan form that Kale and Broly use. It's a form of super saiyan that is leagues stronger than a regular super saiyan is completely unique to the user and others cannot achieve it through training.
For me, my Sith Lightning ability would be black with red outlines. Basically it would resemble Ichigo Kurusaki's Getsuga Tenchou technique. I can also picture my Sith Lightning turning into pure ivory white, or metallic silver with golden yellow outlines like an angel's halo. The second anomaly would only ever rarely happen in the event that if I tap into the Light side in order to protect my anime wife and daughters, plus my very closest friends.
I would definitely like to have black force lightning, but I wonder if it's possible to mix variations of the force lightning to stack the abilities of both
Darth bane like all the other sith apprentices, started out with blue lightning after learning of the ability, however while even the best apprentices were only able to produce a few sparks on their first attempt, bane only an hour after learning this ability had already created a storm of force lightning that engulfed an entire room. In the third Darth bane book, there is a scene towards the end that shows a definitive difference between blue and purple lightning from the mouth of Darth bane himself. After being tortured and drugged, bane with the help of an old ally, escapes and uses force lightning on some guards. While the lightning still kills the guards and melts the blasters in their hands, he notes that the lightning is blue insted of purple and while still killing them, had not turned them to ash like he had expected, after seeing this he remarks to himself that he’ll probably be weakened for a while until the drugs wear off.
Force Lightning is literally the lightning conducted from within the nervous system and mind of the user amplified and struck as a weapon upon an opponent. Each color reflects the emotional wellbeing of its user. Red = Rage Blue = Hope Purple = Compassion Yellow = Fear Green = Willpower Black = Death This can be done being filled or absent of these qualities and thus another indicator about the color should determine which sub variant it is and whether it is from the light or dark side of the force. This can be seen in whether the power is emitted from it core or translucent of such. Translucent means the power is being emitted in its absence while being opaque would mean it is concentrated from such. The Son's Red Lightning is likely concentrated. Sith Blue or Purple is likely in absentia of such qualities. This also means if a Jedi or Sith or other Force User became a lantern ring wielder or bearer, they would be OP beyond belief.
So here’s a question that I don’t know if anyone has asked or maybe it’s a dumb question but could a Sith Lord use 2 different force lightning colors? Like say Red and Purple on different occasions.
Force Judgment Colors: Orange, Yellow, and Green. Personally, I think Wielding Pure electricity has got to be one of The Coolest Force Abilities in Star Wars.
Can you point out where Jaina Solo used black lightning? As I can recall, there are only three places where she used Force lightning - Star By Star after Anakin Solo's death, Dark Journey, and the Dark Journey tie-in short story The Apprentice, which appeared in the Gamer magazine. There is the Sith power dark side web, which is described as a web of black lightning that can even capture Jedi Masters. King Ommin used this against Jedi Master Arca Jeth in The Freedon Nadd Uprising. Lomi Plo used this to kill several Yuuzahn Vongs in Star By Star. But I don't think this is what Jaina Solo used.
I think this was explained in a previous video, but here it is again! Fun Fact : Darth Vader was more than capable of using force lighting, only that he didnt because of his complex electronics in his suit of armour and life support system, then of course his mechanical limbs - as we all know. HOWEVER he did occasionally use it in different ways. 1 of which was Called - Force Energized lighting - This was effectively was a huge mass of kinetic energy like - a miniature supernova 💥 - if you like which he employed to devastating effect! At the beginning of The old PS2 game - The Force Unleashed 1, I think it was this he used against Galen Mareks Jedi father as the final knockout! 😁👌
Jaina's use of Force Lightning wasn't black in colouration. She just called it "black lightning" as in "Dark Side lightning" . Any time she threw lightning in 'Star by Star' or 'Dark Journey' , the narrative described white-hot bolts, suggesting a pale blue. Also, I'm 98% sure Luke's Emerald Judgement was never lethal. While 'The Unifying Force' may not have specified if he actually killed those Yuuzhan Vong with it, it was noted that when he later used it against the Killiks in the Dark Nest trilogy that it was non-lethal
... so, the color has not really anything to do with the lightning power. It's related to something akin to what makes a kyber crystal change color according to the force sensitive which it's attuned to
Why are lightsabers sometimes a literal lightning rod to Force Lightning, requiring little to no effort to intercept it, and other times not? For example, when the Nightsisters attempted to assassinate Count Dooku, they all had their lightsabers active, yet the lightning conveniently bypassed them. Of course, there's plot armor, but I wonder if there's a different explanation.
I haven't seen that episode in a while, but weren't the lightsabres an illusion? I seem to recall the Nightsister assassins with blue and green lightsabres as just being phantoms while Mother Talzin was casting her curse. The only real lightsabre-wielding assassins were Ventress and Savage
I read the whole New Jedi Order (Yuuzhan Vong War) series (over 20 years ago) and I don't remember Luke ever using "green lightning" on anyone. But my memory is not good. I would be interested to know what book in the series it was? It could also be from some teeny, tiny off-canon comic or whatever, I guess. As for other colors of Force Lightning: People need to recognize and remember that not all Star Wars creators have all the info all at once. Quite simply, the color of Force Lightning in some far off, tiny off-canon source from many years ago might simply have been a choice of the artist and editor. I can easily see some artists and writers using purple or red just as a choice (with no deep meaning to it).
During the battle against Shimmra and the Slayers (in 'The Unifying Force') Luke drops several of the Slayers with green lightning, though I don't believe it was lethal. He later explicitly used non-lethal green lightning during the Dark Nest Trilogy
I do wonder if Anakin full power used force lightning if he would have a different color considering his raw strength in the force/ being the chosen one
I think that it's odd for purple force lightning to stronger than red force lightning since the Son is the living embodiment of the Dark Side and his lightning is red. Personally since green is my favorite color having green force lightning would be awesome. 😎👍👍👍
I think if the Son, who is the embodiment of the Dark Side, uses red lightning then I say red is strongest. Plus not only is it fatal but it severs the connection to the force. The Force is everything lol
I believe black is the most dangerous of them all when it was first introduced in one of the books it was introduced under pure rage blasting all the gong instantly roasting them it is one lightning never want to witness. Personally to be honest I think if Anakin or dark Vader or ever to learn force lightning if he wasn’t burned in Mustafa, this would be the same one as hers either way the Skywalker family is strong in the force. Darth Sidious would be terrified, knowing his apprentice would be capable of doing this, Creating a monster.
I assume red lightning is conjured when the practitioner aims to cause as much pain as possible without being too destructive whereas purple indicates lightning more destructive than blue and red, but less painful than red. Blue is simply a massively downgraded purple
I will be a Grey Jedi (one that uses both Light and Dark side Force abilities). I would be the demon love child of Kyle Katarn and Revan, and yes I would love to have Force lightning as one of my abilities. My force lightning would be black.
Purple is the strongest for raw power but I'd say red is the best out of them being able to completely shut down someone's ability to use the force is broken kotor 2 sums this up pretty well can't remember the exact wording and even if it's legends as of right now it still seems perfectly reasonable. If someone like a jedi or sith where to lose connection to the force then what are they. Someone who has never touched the force with a blaster would be more capable. Edit good chance red could be the strongest for raw power because we really only see the son the embodiment of the dark side use it not really anyone else even if we didn't see the same effect the purple lighting has being able to turn someone tu dust the son if I remember right wasn'ttrying g to kill (I don't follow comics and books to much outside of these kinds of videos so I could be wrong)
