That rework sucked tbh. He was so good in showdown and even is 3v3 modes with that star power considering you were not going into the match with a spesific team comp.
You really should have asked around before making this video. Surge gadget didn’t get removed for being broken. It got removed bc all brawlers were given a second gadget and there was no alternative gadget that would ever in a million years be a viable option over the teleport so surge got a massive rework so they could give him two gadgets, including allowing him to aim his super now

Surge's first gadget was not removed because it was strong but because it so baked into his core indenitity that no idea for a second gadget would compare to it. It wasn't just removed but instead they made it possible to aim his super as to make the choice between gadgets fair
Being strong was also a reason as it helped his viability a lot and also the reason you stated. Same reason Carl's gadget changed. Flying Hook is so essential and so good that it wasn't even a choice. The rework makes it slightly more of a choice as it grants Carl a bit of area control and extra damage however still it isn't better than his 1st one.
Yeah but 8-bit is a long range tank that also can do insane damage while Doug for most of his history was a worse Jacky who has trouble getting close to enemies

@@joaopedrofm1299 doug has no way to get to the enemies (i.e no dash gadget or movement gadget) so he’s mainly a sitting duck when it comes to taking damage. he!s alright in brawl ball but that’s as far as it goes because he’s a borderline troll pick in ranked. his super is easy to play around if you know what you are doing. he needs a trait to get his super easier because he is so easy to counter (also give him a skin)
@@TDTrench i'd say giving him the tank trait (charging super as you take damage) would be enough, they can't outright reduce his charge rate because then ranked matches would be your trades being nulified every time he has it up. besides that would also mean he gets to chain supers more often to create space, his kit feels bullshit to play against so i'm glad he isn't meta.
If Surge's gadget was not balanced, how in the world is Kit's or Lily's gadgets balanced ? Bruh Kit literally spawns out of thin air. It's easy kill. And Lily can literally escape death 3 times with her gadget.
Oh yeah they remove a ONE time respawn from 8-bit who isnt that good but they let doug have it as a super for pretty much infinite respawns in a lot of situations like that makes no sense

What the fuck are you complaining about? Doug is literally one of the worst brawlers in the game right now. He is f tier. 8 bit had a free revive while Doug’s super is something needs to build up. If he already got killed and used super to comeback he is probably not gonna be able to build it up again to keep combo-ing it to stay alive forever. It really isn’t broken. Pipe down.
if they just made gene's removed star power not only heal teammates that stumbled upon hand but also catch enemy if it hits so that not only you heal your teammate but also you get damaged while they can help u out becouse they don't have to wait to get healed basicaly it whould be perfect for joining a 1v1 making it 2v1 with the guy u just fought back with hp, and gene that you are close to now

I don't understand one thing. If Doug can respawn from his super repeatedly (applicable for friendly allies as well) , then why was 8-Bit's Star Power removed even when it could be used only 1 time ?? Doug still carries gems and power cubes after respawning with full ammo whereas 8-Bit had only 1 ammo after respawning and didn't had any gems or power cubes on him after respawning.
Doug needs his super to respawn where he wants but 8-bit could spawn without needing anythig else than the starpower. It was op due to not many know how counter it and it was only good in solo/duo showdown it got few nerf before deleting it

Second life is bad because it’s useless in 3v3 since it’s only one revive per match, while it’s overpowered in showdown because it’s a free revive in a mode with no respawns. Doug’s revive is tied to his super so he has to actually do damage to get it and then enemies can counter it if they push him back and kill him once the hot dog goes away. Doug is also super short range with no way to close the gap, so getting his super is difficult. Second life wasn’t removed because they don’t like revive abilities. It was removed because it didn’t work as a star power. Doug’s revive does not have this problem.

Just remember that they removed 8-Bit's Extra Life, but then made a TANK, SPLASH ATTACK, HEALING, FAST dinosaur brawler who could use it MULTIPLE TIMES in 1 game. Like... If they just wanted a stronger Jacky, they could've just made her a star power that gives nearby allies some shield made from rubble nearby when she attacks! Alao... I think it's pretty obvious that they removed Brock's star power "Incendiary" because they made it a part of his normal attack. Why would anybody keep a star power on, if their normal attack is just the same thing!?
Except Jacky has always been better than Doug since his release coz she can pull enemies with her super, has a hypercharge and has a gadget to close gaps and get close to brawlers and does same amount of damage while Doug's scaled depending on distance until recently. Doug has no way of closing a gap between enemies and just charges their super while not being able to effectively use his own. 8-bit is also a tank but he's ranged and can do huge damage which is why extra life was broken on him but the ability to respawn w super didn't save Doug from being terrible.
