Yeah. I don't like being treated like a lesser person, as if men or boys are more human than me. And like I've seen using the word 'feminist' makes some people uncomfortable, but I'll keep saying it and I'll be me and I'll be human and I'll try to make people I meet throughout my life understand it aswell. We are human and instead of looking at the differences and forcing roles on people, we should see humans and recognise that our differences, emotional needs and physical needs are balanced and that 50% of us don't should not be forced to suffer for patriarchal men.

Because she's been brainwashed to think of herself as a victim, and she's a good actress, doing her acting . If you interview any people on earth, man or woman, they will tell you about all the struggle they had through out their lives. Most men and women are called far worse things than "bossy". Anybody who went to school knows that. Men and women in medias are highly sexualized, they often work for hours in Gyms to get a sexualized body shape and then show them off wearing skimpy underwear in magazines or websites. The difference is that Emma is playing the victim card for things that most average men and women face regularly. Do you know how hard people had to work to earn millions of dollars, which Emma earned much easier then them. Should all men who are doing difficult construction works, working in dangerous oil rigs and other dangerous things start playing victim card bcz they were put there bcz of their gender and strength?

I grew up a family where my mom was the boss. My dad, grew up in a family with just a mother. The eldest was my Aunt. The aunt was the the head of the family in her mother’s absence. So, I grew up around strong women. I find myself attracted to strong women as well. I have never understood why women are treated as things or inferior. Honestly, I don’t understand how anyone can be treated as less than anyone else. Emma, you are amazing!
@KxNOxUTA
@KxNOxUTA Год назад
Because they grew up where that behaviour was modelled to them and it's so widely spread that they end up there naturally unless they actively question it, which happens when your core family does this and helps you to keep it up. That's the whole problem with the patriarchy. It's a system. And understandably, when men grow up a way and then learn that "suddenly" they are "the villian", because they barely got any education on "how to be a decent man and avoid sexism in a society recovering from patriarchy", are very unhappy. And when they are unhappy and insecure and often underequipped when it comes to skills like emotional management, then they fall into bad coping patterns like blame games towards the people they were never taught to see as equals. It's not their fault they were not taught and what they were taught got outdated. It is there responsibility to account for that and to invest into that no longer staying a problem in their future. :3 And that process is similar to women but on the other end of the spectrum. I'm glad you're comfy with strong women and speak up about it.

What hit me hard was when she said "When at eighteen and my male friends were unable to express their feelings". That hit me hard because it means she is actually fighting for equality and a concern I often have is people who say equal rights between the genders and then treat men badly because I feel like that is an abuse of the social power these movements give us women. But by saying something like this she is showing she is actually fighting for equal rights between the genders because she cares about both genders getting treated well. Thank you so much for sharing something this beautiful. - A Fellow Female.

Women hate men with "feelings", maybe as friend, not as partner. Understand that men are what they are because that’s how you selected them. Women are the one who selected the traits that pushed the men in the way they are: stronger, less emotional, fighter/protectors, career / success driven. On the other hand men have low to zero interest in theses characteristics in a woman.

I want to thank Ms. Watson for her comments and from my experience they are spot on. As a 73 year old male I wasn't confident that any observations I could give would be beneficial, but after reading some of the comments below I concluded I should give it a shot. I am a Vietnam era vet and a lawyer, among other things and over the years have witnessed much. If anyone does not believe that sexual inequality with the odds stacked against women does exist in our society, I would suggest that they expand the group of people they interact with and take time to listen. I am very much in tune with the issues and problems that growing up male in this society contains, because it is my experience. Growing up female - I really haven't a clue. But I can listen and I did. I never considered myself as guy that women would find exceptionally attractive. But I soon found that the women I associated with tended to be way "out of my league" and they enjoyed my presence because I truly listened to them with no judgement. This not only led me to begin to understand the real problems women face, it led me to my wife. Ms. Watson alludes to the experience my wife had in growing up. She was, and is, one hell of an athlete. As a young girl she was ranked in tennis in the state of Texas. She went on to play tennis on scholarship for Ohio State. But this was the 70's and she went through hell for not being the "girl" others thought she should be. Even though at times the negative reactions she got for being so competitive and strong almost crushed her emotionally, she became the fierce woman I was attracted to and started dating. As for my personal preference, I like women who are clearly my equal. Since I know who I am and my strengths and weaknesses, they intrigue me rather than threaten me. What I love about my wife is she can give as good as she can take. She does not put up with my s__t. She has helped refine me and made me stronger. Is she my equal in all things? Of course not. She can take me apart on the tennis court, but I am much better at flying and aerobatic airplane than she is. We each have our strengths and weakness but we add to each other. She brings to the table at least as much as I do. I am her biggest cheering section. Over the years I have witnessed this beautiful, talented, gifted and intelligent woman have to put up with discrimination and sexism that blocked her from achieving her full potential. She has done incredibly well but I know she could have flown much higher. When she was young her father, who as a college basket ball player had his jersey retired by his university, told her "baby love the only mistake you made was being born female". Even back then in Texas he could see it and he was definitively not Woke. Over time I realized that even though I can "fly wing" for her I couldn't "man fix" these problems for her. But I can listen to her and serve as a supportive witness to her life and reality. I can love her for who she is and thank God she is my partner.

Those women, nd a lot who made fake accusations were called 'feminist' when they actually never mentioned being one, it was just to mock it. Wherever in india, if injustice takes place bcuz of a woman, it makes the blood boil of women nd men all over, but the media starts calling out the reason 'feminism' rather than believing bad women who do crime are as common as the men. the case of zomato delivery guy, the influencer never claimed to be feminist in her video. it was just she was angry that she got hit by an unprivileged man, then where does feminism enters here? AJ Strive, Feminists will never achieve gender equality while continuing to restrict gender rights of both male and female neurodivergent people. Employment is a gender right, feminists as well as men commit employment discrimination towards the neurodivergent population, that's why over 80% of neurodivergent people, females included are unemployed. Feminism may not be against gender, but feminists are against outcasted groups restricting them their gender and civil rights. Until feminists stop oppressing outcasts feminism is a hypocritical activity. Here's the problem; Normal People = Division among the human race. Division = Discrimination, Cultural Prejudice, Racism and Conflict. A divided race cannot live in equality.

This society not only discriminate women for what they are doing, how spending their life. Society also judge us and everytime when I stand against this everyone starts criticizing me that I'm a girl I don't have rights to say these things. But I'm really lucky that I've such a supporting parents that loves me and inspire me to stand against everything wrong. Know this small effort will one day bring a big revolution against wrong. I'm a girl myself, currently in high school. I've heard a few things from my own friends that literally shocked me. I was so surprised to hear them say it. I'm surrounded by a lot of friends that are feminists and fight for women's rights. At first I was like, okay cool, I agree that we should have the same rights as others! Then one of my friends said "hate men". With her specifically idk if she was joking or not but that didn't make me feel great inside. This other person ik from school is lesbian and says a lot of things about like why be with men when girls exist or smth. Ik most of what they say is just jokingly but it always makes me feel a bit awkward since I don't know how to respond with that. I realized a while ago that I didn't like associating myself with feminism because some people stereotype it as women thinking they deserve more rights than others which for some time I stereotyped that as well. Then at some point I realized to myself feminism is fighting for equal gender rights which made me feel a lot more proud. People can definitely jokingly say things but when it's hard to tell if it's a joke, then I guess it's not really what feminism is meant to be about. A little ironic that I'm having to talk about gender rights even though the people I was talking about above are literally part of the lgbtq+ community. If feminism really was the stereotype of making women seem "supreme" truly, then I want no part in it. I don't believe that's what it is but if it was that, I'd be disappointed, especially as a girl.

The question for me is still, where do feminists want more equality? She has given some examples, but I can mention a lot of similar examples where men are being treated less/worse. She was called bossy? Men are called all kind of things that will never happen with a women. Do we want to exterminate all of this? I think its impossible. There will always be bullies or negativity. You could also say, learn to live with it, create your own path and do what you want with your life. Does a man tell you you cant do something? Why care? If somehow by law you have less freedom than a man, than those are the kind of things we need to change ofcourse. Like in some countries women are not allowed to drive. I never felt that my life is somehow easier as a man than it would be for a woman. I have never seen any examples of this in my personal experience. Everyone treats eachother equally already. But then i take a look on internet and suddenly a different picture is shown. Maybe it is different in other westen countries? Are these incidents or is there a bigger systematic issue? That is always hard to judge.
@burntobattle6188
@burntobattle6188 Год назад
Here is the problem with the feminism you are talking about. When you say equal rights, deep down you know that you are really fighting for women's rights, and by that I mean having equal rights by giving women all the rights men have. If you don't agree with the fact that you are fighting for women's rights and not equal human rights, why do all femisists only look at women's issues and not men's? For example, men are more likely to spend time in jail; men work in harder jobs like coal mining or garbage collection, which I really encourage women who want good jobs to also take. Men are more willing to be forced into a war (let's put your equality philosophy here. Women should fight in Ukraine as well right?, why are men the only ones there?), and so on. So tell every stupid feminist to stop claiming equal rights and to enjoy their easy life. If you want equal rights, you would be spending 95 percent of your life looking at male problems because women have way more privileges than men, yet they are still looking at the extremely small privileges that men hold (also about the pay gap this woman in the video talked about. Males earn more money for reasons other than their gender. Men work harder than women; women are more likely to drop out of jobs on average due to taking care of children; men take higher paying jobs as well as lower paying jobs; and finally, men in entrepreneurship are much more competitive than women are)
@ZIbroweed
@ZIbroweed Год назад
You seem like a reasonable person, so tell me this. What wrong has feminism righted that disadvantaged men and where did this happen? I know that feminism claims to be for men and women, but it seems to think that all problems need to be solved for women before any energy can be put into solving injustices for men under a theory that women are always more oppressed. The name its self demonstrates that it's focus is one sided as well as the name of it's devil (Patriarchy) being that of male control. Egalitarianism is the name for what feminism claims to be and remains as such because there isn't a movement of egalitarians doing something else. Feminism is a name for what feminists have historically done. That's my view.

Tiny Anty champ, I have a question for feminists to ponder! If feminists agree with me it's wrong to be treat with inequality, what are feminists doing oppressing and discriminating The Autism Community that the world physically harms us, were drugging us before the 90s, shocking us with small electric just to make us behave the way the society wants us to behave including feminists? Those of us of The Autism Community embraced our title "Autistic person" and made "The Neurodiversity Movement" to fight not just for our rights, but for the rights of others who have been pathologised by the world, including by feminists. Pathology has no scientific basis, the basis of pathology is nothing but cultural prejudice. So keep in mind feminists are not innocent of treating people with inequality.
@Wishingstar332
@Wishingstar332 2 года назад
@@danielmoore4024 That's true- VERY true. Some go to unnecessary lengths to fight. Everybody's choices are their own- whether they're wrong or right. Being a feminist shouldn't mean that you resort to violence- I believe in peaceful ways to show the world what I believe in. Who knows- I may be wrong. Very wrong. And I'm not afraid to admit that. But currently, I stand with my choice to do my best to treat people how I treat myself: with gentleness, kindness, and keeping in mind they may not agree. I support many movements (BLM, Feminism, LGBTQ+ etc) and I have never had a reason to harm anyone; so I don't.

@@Wishingstar332 I'm glad to hear that, for the same reason I'm very supportive of "The Neurodiversity Movement" (NDM) by the autism community. The autism community including myself are fighting for everyone to have equal human rights, not just autistic people. I've heard stories on the news about the death of feminists because of feminism, the same thing is happening to autistic people, most of their peers give them no sense of belonging so they think their only solution is suicide, this is why I'm producing a book that shows perceived differences are not the problem, people's fear of what they don't understand is the problem, the cause of all the discrimination.

Christopher, I don't think you mean it, but your comment is disrespectful. The reflex to comment on a woman's looks is part of the problem. Why mention her outer apperance? It's absolutely irrelevant in the given context. Still, it's something many men, and women! do - without ever thinking about it. Imagine it the other way round: A man holds a speech about a topic close to his heart, and people react by saying "Oh, what a good-looking guy! And he's smart, too!" That would seem inappropriate and quite irrational, and rightfully so. The same must go for women, or people of ANY sexual identity, for that matter.

When I was a child I would walk into stores. My mom would ask me if i wanted any shirts. I would trace the walls looking for one that wasnt pink and didnt have "girl power" written across the top. I hardly found any without it. I dont stand for girl power is seems to be a belive or impression that girls are better. And while empowering young minds is a good thing we must not forget girl power only benefits half. We need to be feminists. To push away from the idea of girl power that was introduced in the 2000's we need to push and empower ALL young minds. Girls boys and everyone in between. Equality even on both sides. Dont try to make it up to woman. Dont try to apologize what happened in the 19th century. Just give everyone the knowledge that they are equal and they can make a difference... if it was only that simple
@idesiaundjojo635

I was a teenager in the 2000's. "Girl power" was a very feminist thing. I meant: You don't have to be a weak girl and you don't have to be strong like a boy. You can find your own strength as a girl. "Girlies" were loud and playful and strong and individual. Girl power meant being proud to be a girl and doing what you want. I really liked that.
@salmon1290
@salmon1290 3 года назад
@@idesiaundjojo635 it was much different for me as it felt like a cover up for the way girls were once treated. We've only reached equality when we dont need to make up for things that happened 100+ years ago. But at least it helped some people

Thanks for speaking up for women and clarifying the true meaning of feminism, that it's about EQUAL RIGHTS not male--bashing or hatred. It's about finding our voices in a patriarchal society. It's about taking a stand against misogyny and abuse towards women and girls around the world. Thank you Emma for taking a stand and expressing yourself in a strong, clear voice. Jenny

It is refreshing to see a woman who is not afraid to say her mind. Most men are more than willing, even if they are unwilling to admit it, to have a woman who is strong enough to back them up, even when it is only by their opinion. As an actress on Harry Potter she let show that strong trait that any parent would love to have in their daughter.

I’m beyond grateful that Emma is speaking about this serious topic As a girl at the age of twelve I’ve received criticism for voicing myself about equality between both genders, and it’s exhilarating that other women are on the same page as mine. You shouldn’t believe that talking about your opinion, more like facts, about what is right is wrong as I’ve witnessed some women have. I am not saying that men should be treated lowly and not express their feelings as well to appear “manly” since I do believe this precisely applies for both genders, as for being hit, sexually harassed etc...

The phrase she said " that there is no any country which treat gender rquality". She is right still some men are thunk that they are stronger than women and some women help them thinking that they are weaker than men lol. First we have to make women think about them strongly

yes! i think "feminism" word is most misunderstood word in world. some boys and girls are intelligent enough to understand proper meaning of this word. but rest were be like: this word meaning is "only females are superior". it's a bad word, spreading hate and all, blah blah blah....... no man! Feminism is all about equality. equal rights for all genders.
@manishbhaskar5405
@manishbhaskar5405 3 года назад
@@subconscious_mind I strongly agree with you....It does mean gender equality....but for that we should change that word..."Feminism" into "Femenism".... This shows that this word promotes equality....
@subconscious_mind
@subconscious_mind 3 года назад
@@manishbhaskar5405 still the meaning is same. main motive behind this word is that "woman should have the same rights and opportunities as men". so this word matters more to females than males. that's why this word is feminine. just because this word is feminine, it can't change the main goal behind this. for me this word is okay. if you want to call "femenism" , that is also a cool word. you can say that. the motive is same.
