@@pospc2 Well this is a perspective, but sure A lot of people who don't give a damn in the slightest for home or auto maintenance will fall pray into rip offs for upgrades, trade-offs and labour payments. Lack of DIY knowledge can also make you more susceptible to buying hardware and tools you don't need.
I purchased a generator never used it. Still in the box went to return it. Then was told they changed the return policy 2 days after I purchased it. Told them that it was not my fault for not knowing you changed based on store discretion after I left. Luckily I disputed the charge and told them that they changed the rules after I left with store manager name. Five days later got my money back and still waiting on Home Depot to pick I up. Been 2 months and still at home. As I cannot move a 600lb generator.
Lowes return policy if you don't use a Lowes credit card is within 90 days and you don't even get store credit. No more store credit at the least? The item i tried to return was new and i had the receipt. I'm no longer going to be so nice when I need to go to Lowes. They try to get my business with HVAC, And other big contractor jobs. I will draw a hard line just like they do. If they don't trust the consumer, then I don't trust Lowes! Public trust is everything!
lately due to the pandemic in canada, many retail stores only taking refunds on unused merchandise with store receipts. and many others refuding refund. they all using pandemic as an excuse. its a shame. and many retailers also eliminating price match as well.
9:02 Walmart... Watchout because many stores are open but they've been screwing around and limiting hours customer service window is open! I argued with a manager once who wouldn't do a return on item I just bought... He wanted me to drive back in the morning!🤬 Eventually relented and processed the return himself.
i used to love walmart for return without receipt because i would return my surplus stuff on sale to Walmart for full retail. i would even buy cheap stuff at dollar store and return to Walmart.

I work at one of these big box stores and I can tell you that HF has by far the best return policy in all of them. Lowes has the least most favorable... they eclectic their tools to last want their customers to be in the know of what they're buying
My ma ordered 2 battery tender from Walmart online. Not much later she got 2 on sale in the store. I went to return the online ones to Wal-Mart and they couldn't take the return. Something about it having a 3rd party sale involved (I forget the name on the box that was delivered) But what a bunch of BS! It said nothing about it being 3rd party online. It was through the Walmart app!! End result was they gave her a discount for the purchase that was almost Equal to the in store sale price so she only lost out on 4 bucks and now I can return the other 2 to the store. What a huge frickin' headache though!

The AutoZone I work at is very lenient to let people return pretty much anything. The packaging could destroy and we’ll still return as long you have the receipt, I had managers return stuff that was purchased 2 years ago and customers “loan” tools all the time then use and bring back
Really??? I went into autozone one day to buy a battery for my car. I thought I didn’t need it so I walked right in my store THE VERY NEXT DAY receipt in hand didn’t even take off the grease package and they almost gave me shit about returning it saying the system usually doesn’t allow it.
watch out for cub cadets the snowblowers they come with metal gas tanks i have a 2017 and knob is always tight it seems .flashlight down inside its all crusty and i take care of it.it has 10 hours on it
Harbor freight or not refund your money if you try to return the product to a different harbor freight location. They will only give you a in-store credit. Which is the worst.
I just bought the Dewalt starter kit from Lowes they had batteries in store and tool available for ship to house. Will it work like HD tool shows up at home battery gets auto return because never picked up? Might get the batteries because they are a great deal just not sure I need more
I took a pressure washer back to Lowe's after having it for over a year when I saw a deeply discounted refurbished Predator model at Harbor Freight that I did use. Admittedly, I never took it out of the box, but they did take it back nevertheless.
not that impressive if its unused. i have returned stuff to costco i bought used on facebook marketplace. granted its at whatever price it comes up on their return till. but its usually a lot more than what i paid for it. i once returned a dish heater i bought for $20 and got a store credit for about $80.
I have returned items back to Home Depot after 7mos and 9mos They swapped it out NO PROBLEM with receipt WITHOUT RECEIPT they only do it ONCE with your VALID ID!!

I was fresh outa UK's best known gas suppier and install company?! .i'll let you figure?..That story is for another time and channel,lol. I didnt have a core drill to cut 5" hole outa 9"brick wall. So i went to local B&Q....DIY Store,UK. I bought a 240v Hitachi sds rotary/hammer drill. Cut the hole, cleaned the drill, and took back to store saying it has intermittent on/off fault......"i had receipt but consumer laws? If goods are faulty, you dont need receipt. But even so, the staff will make it hard, but grind them down and they have no choice refunding. I knew a girl who stole clothing, made them faulty and returned to store same day. She would even sometimes steal from store , make faulty in store and return them there and then for a full cash refund with no reciept. If people like that used their intelligence correctly, imagine what they could become? ha ha ha
Yes please stop getting mad a retail employees for nothing. If a customer comes up to me with an attitude I am not in the mood to help them. I can understand if something went wrong and you're upset but if you give me shit I am going to tell you to turn around and walk out the door.
@@timenavigator9643 the hot head screaming at random people is closer to getting a spot on that list. we're just trying to do our jobs, and screaming idiots don't help with that. if there is an issue and you can stay calm then I am more than happy to help you, but if you come off with an attitude because you don't like the rules or the price or whatever then you can leave the store. I am not going to bend the rules for some assholes screaming at me because he made a mistake and wants to make it my problem.
@@ElectronicsForFun well i feel the employees at retail stores aren't being paid well enough to care. so if i come in for a refund, i expect the item to be returned without sass lip praising the company. i know walmart and costco employees love to guilt trip me for returning food items because the store throws them away. i tell them that the store can afford to throw money away i can't. and for some stuff i understand being unused. but some stuff has to be tried and used. so for these items, employee should just check item is in there and process return ASAP. and i am always polite and to the point and expect same in return.

WHY????? Life or death, dog eat dog, survival of the richest, that's why. If you think real N95 masks would last 5 minutes on the shelf at a Home Depot or Lowes, you're living in dreamland. Why nobody has them for sale on the shelf, is that most go straight to medical, government, and emergency personnel without ever being for sale. Then big industries grab up most of the rest, before they're ever available for sale to actual people. It keeps going down the food chain like that until some end up for sale to anyone, but even then, people scoop them up in the hopes of flipping them on eBay, or so that it will keep them or their relatives from dying when they have to be somewhere that other people are breathing. Like any person wanting to get on an airplane, bus, or subway, for starters. But you're in luck. You can get some N95 masks, even fancy 3M N95 masks on eBay, all it takes is money. Lots of money if you want lots of real N95 masks, but not nearly as bad as it was this spring. $3 to $7ea when buying 10 or 20 at a time now. In the spring, it was more like $25ea when even hospitals, governments, and industry all had to turn to Amazon and eBay to bid against each other for them. Now that they're hooked up directly for big quantities from big suppliers, and you aren't, at least you won't be bidding against a hundred hospitals and a thousand doctors to get 20 masks or whatever. If KN95 would be good enough for your purposes, you can get all you want, for more reasonable prices. They're even in stock on store shelves here all the time at $20 for a pack of 10.
