When I was an apprentice, an islander tradesman I worked under would send me every smoko and lunch to the iga, to grab him a 2l solo, bbq chook and a ten pack of bread rolls. He’s devour the lot in one sitting and send me back for the same thing on he’s next break… I’ve never seen anything like it…

Worked as a laborer with a couple of Tongan dudes - they were awesome. In summer, on our lunch breaks, they'd whip down to the supermarket and buy a loaf of white bread and some ice cream and have ice cream sandwiches.

Years ago when I was studying I worked for a company called Revitalife (Installing those fancy made in china, assembled in Australia beds for nursing homes). I used to work with 2 guys, one for the northbound run, one for the south run. The northbound guy was a Kiwi. This video and the warehouse one remind me of him so much! I'd be there struggling with an 80kg box up the stairs, meanwhile he just walks past carrying the mattress with one arm and helps me with the box and he had a merry poppins style lunchbox too.

Had a bunch of Kiwi lads here doing some scaffolding and after a hard morning of on point church choir singing one of the lads goes to the truck and comes back with a beaten up old microwave so they can heat up the lunch buffet. We'd go get pizza for dinner and Moses would get 2 family super supreme's at Wolf Pizza in Smithfield. Moses would roll those 2x family super supreme's into kebabs and finish them. Chuuurrr, I'm half Maori half Aussie and this is spot on except like the celery and salad, some Maori's and islanders pack so much into their chilli bins(esky). I was a removalist till last year, I'd bring 2-3 sandwiches, choco protein bar, muesli bar, a carrot or 2 or a apple, some chicken rice and veg, 1.5L coke, 1 litre multivitamin water and a energy drink most days and normally ate it all by the end of a 8-10hour work day and I was around 90kg then at 5ft11. We can eat ay hahaha
