Paris Postcard was kind of like the Colosseum: It seemed to go out of stock and retire without any warning, so nobody had any stock. How do you defend against these surprises? Both sets are doing well.
It went OOS in late November, so anyone who was targeting it for investing had pretty much all year to pick them up. Even if I lasted to the end of December, IMO it would be performing just as well. On the topic of trying to defend against these surprise early OOS sets, you have to target your highest conviction sets early and risk them getting discounted to better prices later on. Personally that’s not how I buy for investing, I try to be as low risk as possible, so I have and probably still will miss some sets that go OOS early. Like Heavenly Realms even though it was high on my list to pick up.
BrickHeadz have become one of my favorite investments over the last couple years. They all perform well. It's just a matter of how well. It reminds me of old Speed Champions when you couldn't lose before their price got too high.
Carefull on exclusives if you are a amazon seller as a number of them are search suppressed making them almost impossible to sell at decent price. Also sets can be search suppressed at a later date if not at the moment.
Your 40521 finally went OOS!!! Only 160 sellers at $35, below MSRP, I doubt this set will recover to $60 even in 2 years. I see you swapped them out but can't make out what your next big winner is. 40657 has a chance to be an amazing sleeper set. Lego store exclusive, short run, it combines with 3 other Season 1 Dreamz sets but unfortunately Lego does not depict that on the box art or instructions for the other sets 71456, 71459 and 71461, missed opportunity there Lego, only on their website and the instructions for 40657. Imagine a kid builds any of the other 3 and then at the end of the instructions Lego tells them "Hey Kid you need to get this other set to combine with the one you just built". Kinda gives me Elves vibes. Also in a random survey of 100 children in the age ranges of 5 - 9 only 3 have ever watched even one episode of the show, so demand is low. Would love to know more about what you think about this set, perhaps exclusivity of those micro figures? But not joining any patreon.
I was hoping you’d follow up on the Mini Haunted Mansions haha, I finished with 33 units at an average cost of $14.32. If I sold them right now for $35 each, I’d come away with ~$21.40 after fees and shipping, that’s 50% in profit 2 months after retirement. Almost every set is a good investment if you get it at the right price :) Yeah there are a lot of unknowns with the Dreamzzz theme at this point, but the Elves comparison is in the realm of possibility. I expect many of the wildly available sets to continue to see deep discounts to finish out the year, but I definitely think there is investment potential with the Dreams Village.
I appreciate your video. BUT Ebay is NO LONGER the most reputable MSRP website. The jackwagons who sell on ebay now mark everything up by 100s of percent when it's not even close to that value! They were selling Nuka Quantum glass bottles for 200% there value when they were premarket.
Yeah there are plenty of listings on eBay with inflated prices that won’t sell. When looking at values of sets, considering recent sold listings and the lowest available price are good indicators of value.
@@BrickDomain I agree I would see what the highest is and try to drop enough to make mine more appealing to sell. But it just seems like Ebay has become an lunatic market with how some post items on there.
Great video. I'm pretty high on the Disney Villians Brickheadz this year because Maleficent and Cruella are 2 of the most iconic villians with generally popular live action origin stories. I kind of wish the Moana Brickhead combo pack had Maui instead. That would have made more sense to me. I personally love Pixar and like Brave but Merida would have probably been my last pick for another princess to bundle with Moana. I do like your points about the upcoming movies though.
Curious how you get multiple GWPs when ordering from Lego. The limit of one per household holds me back - at most I get two by asking a relative to place an order on my behalf. This limits my ability to stack up the discounts.
There aren’t any LEGO exclusive Marvel sets retiring this year. There is definitely still investing potential in the theme, check out what Thor’s Hammer is already going for, but most sets in the theme are lackluster for investing.
@@BrickDomain I prefer the other setting. 😂💪🏻 Monkie Kid is so underrated. I do not understand why not more people invest in those sets. So detailed and lots of fun. And good investment opportunities too!
I was a big fan of Heavenly Realms for investing, but I’m not convinced about this one. What can make Monkie Kid sets a good investment is the lack of supply. Because LEGO already discounted it to 20% off 2 months ago, many people picked it up just because it was on sale. The extra inventory from these investors makes me less excited about it when compared to others.
