Yeah 7 does have some of the best overall track selection especially the retro tracks it's only overlooked because it's mechanics were carried over to 8 and many of the tracks were carried over in the bcp
agreed. 7 doesn't really stand out compared to other games but it's one of the most refined games in terms of controls and features plus it has the second best track list. i'm also just a sucker for 3ds era visuals lol... i will say that the roster is really underwhelming, but modding it fixes that

That was an amazing ranking video swifty, very nostalgic. It’s hard to rank all the entries in the series as they all bring something unique, but I pretty much agree with most of your ranking,apart from my top 3 which would be slightly different 1 Mk8 deluxe 2 Mario kart Wii 3 super Mariokart on the snes as it was the game I first played and grew up with, followed then with double dash. Can’t wait to see what’s next for the greatest game franchise ever😊❤️
I can't rank all the games since I haven't played them all, but here's a list of the ones I have played 1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - I mean obviously lol. Best character roster, great battle mode, great track selection, and the best controls. 2. Mario Kart 7 - This game gets way too much hate just because its not Wii. The roster attempted something new and was good, only reason its seen as bad is because no Wah, the nitros are great, the retro selection is the best in the series (base game at least, and the controls are great. 3. Mario Kart Tour - This game is also way too hated. The controls are difficult but fun to learn, the mechanics of the game are something new and fun, growing a collection of characters and kart parts a also nice, and its fun seeing different tracks every few weeks. 4. Mario Kart 8 - This was one of my childhood Mario Karts but it was a let down in some aspects. The character roster was bad, the battle mode was uninspired, the nitros were just fine, and the retro selection is mostly mid. 5. Mario Kart Wii - Controversial but this game is no where near as good as people say it is. The controls are terrible and not fun to learn, the visuals are a massive downgrade compared to Double Dash despite that game releasing years prior, the track selection is overrated, and the retro selection is alright I guess, oh and it has the worst battle mode in the entire series. 6. Mario Kart DS - Fun and nostalgic game but its not the best. Track selection is good but overrated, worst Rainbow Road, worst retro selection, good character roster, and nice controls but broken strats. 7. Super Mario Kart - Was fun seeing where the series started, but man is it pretty bad compared to the others lol. Track selection is uninspired, and the controls are wacky.
@@Swiftjar I plan to get a Gamecube someday and play it because it just looks so amazing and charming. Insane how it hasn't been ported over to the Switch.

My personal favorite Mario kart game is Mario Kart Super Circuit. It’s one of the most skilled games I’ve played, so much so that I got 3 stars in all cups and ccs include the extra cups. It’s an excellent game that is really underrated.
Only real disagreement i have with the list is that I wouldve put 7 in my top 3 or 4, however thats largely due to nostalgia reasons since its a game I played a lot growing up
It’s hard to compare them because they both have pros and cons. 64 has terrible controls but was on a very nostalgic system. While super circuit had better controls and better maps, its graphics just didn’t feel like the next Mariokart upgrade and more of a downgrade. So it’s hard to compare which is better
@@JSCyborg for me, smooth, actually enjoyable gameplay and better tracks is a much better incentive than a slight graphical downgrade. I can see people being turned off by Super Circuit being 2D though

I love the list, and my list is almost The same except Mario Wii is 2nd place on my list and double dash is 3rd and I love both the others I agree with though I did not play Mario kart home circuit or the arcade games but I have played all the others from snes to the switch plus Mario kart tour. 😊👍

14: Live Home Circuit (A novel idea, but can’t hold up) 13: Super Mariokart (Unfortunately, this one hasn’t aged well) 12: Tour (The amount of content is insane, but wow! There are issues!) 11: Super Circuit (I love the tracks, but the gameplay is lacking) 10: Arcade GP (A solid enough Arcade Mariokart game) 9: Mariokart 64 (Brought the series into 3D, plus the Battle Mode) 8: Arcade GP 2 (I personally love the commentary) 7: Mariokart 7 (Some very high highs, but very low lows) 6: Mariokart 8 (A fantastic game ruined by the Battle Mode) 5: Mariokart DS (I love the nitros and mission mode, but those retros😬) 4: Arcade GP DX (Packed with soooo much content!) 3: Mariokart Wii (Say what you want, I think this game rocks!) 2: Mariokart 8 Deluxe (The ultimate Mariokart game!) 1: Mariokart Double Dash (I wish this game’s gimmicks would return)

your list is good. i often judge the mario kart lists by how high they put mario kart 64. the really biased ones put it too high. in my list, i would have put MK7 a little higher up.
Great ranking as usual, overall I agree with it except that personally I would switch 7 and 64 because the former is much smoother to play than the latter and has more content although I can see where you're coming from!
Idk if I missed it, but I don't think the arcade games were in here unless I missed it... Also you didn't fix the MKDS title art bruh! The diss to DS is real just in the thumbnail lol. (I'm just giving ya a hard time lol)

@@SwiftjarI would love to play it but unfortunately I've never had a Gamecube. I hope that in the future Nintendo will include the Gamecube with Nintendo Switch Online, so I can finally play Mario Kart Double Dash and all the games I've been missing.

My list (you're not gonna like): 10th: *Mario Kart 64* Besides the battle mode, the game just aged awfully. Bad tracks, bad visuals, bad controls, if you want a kart racing game on the N64, Diddy Kong Racing is right there. 9th: *Mario Kart Tour* Gameplay is just waaay to slow, I'm not a fan of the combo mechanic and I can't play whatever course I want. Also, while it does have a huge roaster, you can't play with your favorites if you want to win. 8th: *Super Mario Kart* Idk, I just have a good time playing this game lol. 7th: *Mario Kart 8* (WiiU) Yes, the game looks and sounds gourgeous, but I'm not a fan of how the game controls, and the other games just have more content. 6th: *Mario Kart Super Circuit* Underrated gem. The controls might not be the best, but everything else is just great. Every track in this game is memorable on their own way. 5th: *Mario Kart Double Dash!!* The devs were on drugs developing the game, and I love it becouse of that. The amount of detail each track has is huge, although the tracks themselves could be more creative. 4th: *Mario Kart 8 Deluxe* Fixed one of the main issues with the og MK8, the content. 96 courses, a good battle mode, a huge character selection, this game has everything (except mission mode ;-;). I still don't like the gameplay of it, so it's not higher. 3rd: *Mario Kart 7* It might not have as many tracks as 8, but boy is this game good to control. The track selection is also peak! 2nd: *Mario Kart Wii* Ngl, mods carried this game to second lol. What is 96 courses when you can have 200? Do you like chaos? Try racing 50 laps, 24 players, item rain or whatever hell cc you want to. 1st: *Mario Kart DS* I know it doesn't have the best track selection in the world, but as an single player gamer, this game has everything I would want in a Mario Kart game. Mission Mode, a good Battle Mode, gosh, even time trialing is fun with every type of technique there is to do and learn.
