1. They should have put these in reverse order, because once you've seen Gary Moorcroft's mark all the others are just blown out of the water! 2. I reckon to really appreciate Liam Ryan's mark you've gotta extend the clip back and show just how much running he put in to even get to that contest. That was a seriously good effort.

Watched the Liam Ryan game live, that moment won them the game, they kicked the next 5 goals off that. I was wondering - where is Andrew Walker's mark? I thought that won MOTY as well? And even as a WC fan, you gotta appreciate Leo Barry's mark in 2005. Won the Swans the GF. Shame they don't include finals games for MOTY purposes

Ben Cook barley any hang time. Walkers legit jumped and sat on Carlisle shoulders and didn’t use his hands do get on top of him. Krakours isn’t even the 2nd best, Natin nui took a better one

I was sat right behind the goals for Liam Ryans mark they should of shown the 80 meter sprint he had to do just to make the contest, he won Mark of the year but also the game that night

Lunch it was all the same piece of play, going off your logic a mark is only when the ball is caught by the player why show them leap of the ground it’s not called “best leap off the ground of the year” just show 0.2 of a second when the ball is caught

John Doherty, your logic of “best leap off the ground” would suggest that only the jump is being judged which is clearly not the case, 90% of these marks start less than 2 meters behind where the actual grab is completed and they are all, far better than this years.. if you want to see a mark of the year winner that started 35+ meters away. Lunch if you read my response correctly you’d understand that i said if only the mark is judged why also show the leap just show the ball being caught and nothing else. Yeah that was a ripper mark by Winston Abraham, i just think the fact that Ryan had to sprint all that way and still have enough in the tank to take mark of the year is a feat in itself doing anything but breathe after a sprint like that is hard enough if he started his run up from 10 meters away he’d have flown over Gawns head

There is absolutely no way that Krakouer wins that in 2011 over Walker. Walkers mark is borderline top 3-5 greatest of all time and Krakouers was the worst on this list.

Andrew Walkers mark was played on ads and highlight reels frequently for years after the mark was taken. I've only seen the 2011 mark of the year about 5 times in total.

Jimmy Bartel and Nick Riewoldt took marks in 2004 that I felt were 'better'. Everyone talks about Riewoldt's, but Bartel's against the Bulldogs took extraordinary courage. Check it out.

Moorcroft's is the greatest mark of all time, no doubt. It's as iconic as it gets. The 2nd best mark of all time didn't even win and isn't here. Not Howe, not Walker... When Nick Riewoldt took that grab running back with the flight and literally flung himself backwards against Hawthorn.. Heart stopping stuff. Similar to the Jonothan Brown mark but even better.

Some interesting stories in that lot. Liam Jurrah, Andrew Krakouer, Majak Daw, but who is Michael Newton? My favourite is the Liam Ryan one because you could see it coming a mile off and it finished Melbourne in that game. Some absolute rippers in that lot though.

Gary Moorcrofts is easily the greatest mark in AFL history. Nothing has come close to it, jezzas was great but seen plenty that have been similar if not better since. Haven’t seen anything like moorcrofts. Fight me
