This man left Wammys house, Outsmarted Light Yagami, Gained the mafias trust by becoming one of its top leaders, Threatened to blackmail the U.S. President and was one of the few to actually use the Death Note successfully all at age 19. Mello was goated.
indeed! also, in this anime munching on a sweet is a metaphor/accessory for thinking about deep stuff and finding out mysteries. well while he was a gang leader, he was eating a chocolate bar, therefore he was solving some mystery while someone was beaten and threaten to unconsciousness. another fun fact: his character shows so much similariity with Michael the Archangel, and mello sacrificed himself 2x, the second time it resulted in his death. he is so cool even Madonna cosplayed him in one of her music videos!
And I love how he acts directly after he wants to do something.Unlike Light L and N ,Mello seems that he never take a longgggg time to think before making a decision. For Light L and N,they uses little tricks for trying to let the other side to reveal. Mello just do things in a straightforward way for that threatens Light or N which is different from other protagonists. His impulsiveness just make him be attractive to me.(I dunno much about the manga.I just watch the anime if I have said sth wrong pls tell me.)
@@loon3703 light used people and killed innocents, too, he was even ready to kill his sister and he didn’t care about when his father died, then how many people light killed, too, for his own purposes is not comparable to the fact that mello killed his father I am very sorry for his father because of that he died without knowing that his son Kira Light's goal was to become a god and not kill criminals, he didn't care about people in the end, he went crazy and I like Mello not because of his appearance, but because he is a charismatic character and i also feel sorry for him, since he sacrificed himself for the sake of catching Kira, so it is very stupid to consider him evil, the creators themselves said that he was not real evil since he did not want to kill yagami and blamed himself for Matt's death. Mello deserved better and light's family too
@@loon3703 and also L tortured misa but everyone likes him. they just did everything for the sake of catching kira and therefore mello had to kill yagami just like light had to kill innocent people. in this anime there are no good or bad, everyone chooses his side and say that this or that character is bad very stupid
Fun fact : At one moment, Tsugumi Ohba considered for Mello to win against Light but since he was too smart, he would have won too quickly, so, he chose for Near to win
Mello was such an incredible character and i really really wish we could've seen more of him. I don't dislike Near, but i feel like he's way too similar to L, if you get me. Mello was so so skilled and managed to accomplish so much by freaking 19, and his methods were different and unique than Near or L. Near running things kinda made me lose interest in death note for a long time before i decided to rewatch it again
honestly i like both near and mello, but near didn't feel like too much of a carbon copy of L for some reason to me. like of course, he's like L, that's the entire point, but i also feel like it was natural and that near wasn't trying too hard to be like L. the fact that toys were his own little quirk as well has playing with his hair just felt so cute to me lol, and the way he sits is similar to L but it's still so cute.
Originally yes, although unfortunately Ohba thought that Mello had learned too much about the death note way too fast and he decided to scrap that idea since it wouldn’t make for a suspenseful finale.
L was a genius but too sentimental. M was a genius but too proud. N was a genius but too detached. Each of them alone was flawed, but together, they were unstoppable and brought down Kira.
@@EndOfSmallSanctuary97 I think his biggest downfall was not being as reckless as Mello. He was so robotic and detached that he was far too predictable, and Light had his whole plan already sorted. If Mello didn't do what he did Near and the rest of the team would've been dead. He had adopted a lot of L's intelligence but did not adopt his massive balls like Mello did
Aint no way you called L sentimental, his biggest flaw is that he always felt like doing things alone was better than cooperating with people. He also was always ready to sacrifice humans lives in order to reach his goals. He wasn't a bad person but far from a good person
How the hell was L a sentimental person? You know him saying Light was his only friend was a lie, right? He was convinced all along Light was Kira and never doubted it
When N answered the call from Light... He literally scared the shit out of him.. But when Mello called Light's father, everyone was hella terrified... Mello wasn't playing around🔥🔥💯
He may have had only 7 minutes of screen time, but it feels like I've known him longer than I have known Light, or even L. Call me a simp, but I just really attached to him quickly. ✋😌
Honestly i think the author himself didnt know what to do with him, since he was that good. Logically speaking right after mello got the death note and learned about the shinigami eyes, a character as smart as him would've immediately realized that the mafia is now a liability, given the fact they most likely have records in cia or fbi archives which kira could easily have access to and learn their names with the shinigami eyes then control them (which is excatly what light did) which costed mello the notebook. All he had to do is get the death note and flee from the mafia, or possibly kill them. At that point they were unreliable to him right after that, with the death note, he could have gathered all the resources he needed assembled a team as profesional and undercover as near did. It's very weird how a character like him seemingly overlooked this. So i did i bit of digging in the manga and learned that he did in fact realize all of this after the first raid failed, you see the reason why he placed those bombs in the mafia hideout wasn't as a precautionary measure of another raid as we all thought, but he actually planned to kill all the mafia members and get the notebook for himself but he didn't expect to get raided so quickly again. So his plan got intercepted, and to secure validity for this, i will paste light's inner monolouge during the raid, which strongly imply what am saying. (chapter 73 in the manga) ""Blow the place up?! What's he thinking? Why did he even have this set up? Was he going to kill his accomplices? Did he want to have the notebook for himself? I get it mello's objective, first and foremost, is to capture kira! So in order to reach that goal he will use any means necessary.. Even using the mafia. He's unbelievable who knows what he will do next..? i have to kill him."" So knowing these statements came from light yagami himself proves all of what i stated above. His plan was indeed perfect.
I think he would’ve lasted longer if he “unalived” her, I honestly didn’t like Takada either, call me biased but I honestly hated the way she talked to Misa
@@Maxi.Dounut she had no character buildup whatsoever and doesn't really have a personality. some people may like her but most don't cause she's not a likeable character. even misa's better than her. sadly, none of the women in the anime were done any justice with their writing.
I think most people say that because it's kinda hard to follow and understand and some just go the conclusion that it sucks But, it's still epic(even though it's heavily rushed)
@@Trooman20Reading through the manga the 2nd part of the anime got really abbreviated. Entire scenes are totally absent in the anime that are present in the manga. Also in part 1 before L died that whole rooftop scene in the rain doesn't exist in the manga. So L got more screentime then the original source material and Mello and Near got quite a lot less.
Unfortunately he changed a lot off screen and it would have been good to see more of his motivations or have a breaking point. If they'd added that to him, Mello would have stealed the show and it would be who was better "L or Mello" instead of "L or Light".
In like 2 moves Mello basically figured out like 75% of the case. They really did him dirty with Light figuring out his location in one ep bc of bs shinigami powers
I figured his Wammy genius ways could have helped them evade detection. But then, he's got a fiery temper and is such a hothead how was he not already in jail? 😂
He is so underrated. I wish they exploited his character more. But then I remember even the creators said they wrote themselves into a corner by creating someone that was so effective due not only being smart but also goal oriented, hard worker and with mad social skills. They said they had him committing mistakes because otherwise he would have solved the case too easily. Mello was street smart also, which Light who was an arrogant academic was not. So, it was obvious that he would pull tricks on him that would corner him, besides, it would have been perfect if he was the one to catch him due to being the exact person Light despised and taking a criminal to catch another one, philosophically it would have opened another interpretation of the series. At the same time Mello showed the nastiest traits about Light when he got him ticked. To Light it was more important killing him than losing his father. He became his most despicable version whenever Mello cornered him, which at least is quite interesting. To me, he was the best of all of them. I don't know IQ wise, but definitely had traits others could not withstand.

@Esunikku Indeed, I think he had so much potential and he shines a bit more in the manga, still he got a but wasted. I would love to see a spin off of him on how he got into the mafia. It would be interesting at least.
Indeed, I believe a spin off series about Mello would be something I would definitely watch. Especially if it's him in the mafia era or working other cases aside the Kira ones. Would definitely be interesting see how he reconnected to Halle and Matt. There is a lot to work with this character. @@Esunikku
@@-Radical.Ed- If we stay within realistic expectations, something I would love to see is if Nisio Isin, who wrote "The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases," also publishes a novel regarding the "detective war" L had between the second and third-best detectives in the world, Eraldo Coil and Denauve, and how he beat them to acquire their names. Anything new would suffice honestly.
Despite all the violence he committed, he still value Soichirou and Sayu's live and didn't actually want to kill them. So ironic since at some point Light's the one who considered to kill them
Fun fact : In the manga, Mello litteraly threatened the president of the U.S and he died because of him. For Mello’s fans, read the manga ‘cause he’s even more amazing and much developped
Mello looks literally like female but after he taking damage on his face after that exploding building tragedy, he really looks manly and redeem himself to cooperate with Near and don't act according to feelings cuz it can ruin ourselves.
