Nice mod list so far I'm rocking 2024 subaru crosstrek premium Black rhino wheels Falken wildpeaks tires Primitive racing suspension lift Auxbeam lights Thule cross bars similar to yours Ironman 4x4 roofntop tent Yakima awning And screen protector 😂 more to come look forward to your build.
Hola! ¿Qué paso o pondrás nuevamente el panel de lensun solar? lo recomiendas? Que tal funciona? Hello! What happened or will you put the lensun solar panel back in? do you recommend it? How does it work?
It’s the Thule wingbar edge system. Thule edge raised rail feet and Thule wingbar edge 86cm fits the Outback wilderness. While it looks more like a stock cross bar I believe the dynamic weight capacity is limited to 180 lbs vs the 220 of the wingbar evo.
I agree on all your mods. I use Bougee cross bars with my roof box offset on the passenger side and Yakima 6.5 slim shady on the driver's side. This weekend I installed a Midland 575 gmrs radio. It's a 50 watt setup. Bouncing off the repeaters I get Cali, AZ and all of Vegas valley. And 10 weather channels. I'm going down the rabbit hole lol
Cell mounts: offroam makes a ball mount that clips onto the top of the screen-vent, but has been out of stock for over a month, and they didn’t reply to my emails. So I just ordered a Bulletpoint mounting solution Rubigrid 4 point universal thing that someone in your FB group recommended. Planning on a PD charge plate on 1 arm, a GP mount, and was thinking about mounting a small ballhead for actually camera work? Gets here this week, but like you said, I’m not sure how I feel about the holes in the dash and the arm sticking out… Any thoughts on the new maxtrax lites? They look like a good option to throw in the roof box as a “just in case”.
I was hoping to get the off roam myself. I drilled in for the 67 designs and things bounced around too much for my liking. I saw those, but I would probably just stick to the regulars because I know how great they are.
@@roamingwithjosh i actually just emailed Offroam after watching this and they responded at 930pm.. lol. “Outback mounts should be back in stock in the next week or two”. They also had a prototype mount that was canx’ed for the right side, and if they can find it in their junk box, are willing to send it to me.
Every dealer has their own interpretation of the warranties. What I can say is not one of the mods you see in this video has caused me any issues with warranty work. That's not to say that some dealers would have a different perspective.
I'm am very impressed of your honest, "concise and precise" review. I'm new in the Subie family, still starting my learning curve. All your videos are making a difference! Thank you, and happy birthday!
As a new OBW owner, I really appreciate all your videos. Question for you...at one point you had mentioned you might move your ditch lights to the CATuned bar, but it appears you didn't do that with the 2024. I'm wondering why? I think I like the A piller install look but wondering about wind noise too. I definitely plan on taking cues from your installs/builds, but am unfortunately a day's drive from D&R so I gotta do it myself or find someone willing to do it/help.
Thanks for the comment! It's really nice having the ditch lights, and I didn't want to sacrifice them completely. I think what I said is that I could do without the light bar on the roof as long as I have the bumper bar lights. I very well could have said both.
Re: phone mounts, I swear by Proclip USA. They’re spendier but fit into the trim so much better, and just looks way cleaner. Haven’t got one for my OBW yet since I just bought it but I’ve had one for years in my Corolla.
Enjoying all the insights and honesty, Josh, as well as the comments from others. I'm adding a full-size spare to my 2021 Outback Limited XT for our wilderness trips on some pretty rough unmaintained roads. This is only 10% of the year, if that. I am planning to haul the spare on top with a Thule Canyon basket. Thoughts or comments? Can the OEM shocks handle the taller center of gravity/weight distribution? ...BTW, there is a good chance I may add a 1 1/2 front- 1 7/8 back spacer kit (having driven this same unmaintained road for 40+ years that has definitely not gotten any smoother).
Very nice. I am a big advocate for roof boxes. They make a lot more sense than roof racks most of the time. What they don't do, is make you look cool. Your stuf is more secure, it is out of sight and out of the elements. Less wind noise, and you can remove it easy when the trip is done.. You can cary more . A roof box + 2 cross bars is maybe 15kg, depends on the size of the box, a roof rack can be 25 kg or more, you already lost 10 kg of the maximum dinamic load. RTT - no problem, you can put them straight on the cross bars.
It's a pretty long list, my friend! I would say that you don't really need to do that. Make the car whatever you want it to be and go on some adventures to see what you actually need before making any modifications.
Help me out here. Why do people have to see their phone in the car. Isn't that the reason we have car play and Android Auto? I stick my phone in a holster on the side of the console.
Scosche PC835561 Proclip Console Mount. It mounts to the right of the shifter. You can use different mag pads with this mount. The mag pad that I used was the MagicMount pro2 MP2AMPSPC-UB.
