Best mod I ever did was buy a 2013, mint condition NC-3…….. the bolts on the bottom didn’t have any rust on them yet. She’s a fun car to drive just the way it is…… just glad to have it.
Best mod I’ve done to mine was probably to get the steering wheel wrapped in thicker leather. Feels like a whole different car with double the thickness.
I just subscribed because I also have an NC2, SE. I’m in SA, and we’re completely different regarding mods. You’re a performance mod guy where I’m mostly a conveniences mod guy. But I’m much older than you and my Miata is more for touring and weekend driver. But I subscribed for any mechanical jobs you might do to yours! My biggest conveniences mods are lighting. I’ve installed trunk, glove box, and under hood lights. Other convenience mods are replaced my rear view mirror with homelink and compass. Another VERY convenient mod is I rerouted my gas filler release cable so I don’t have to open the middle cubbie to open the gas fill door! I also installed the Moroso coolant tank for safety. Keep up the good work!
I have a 2015 PRHT. Main mod has been $3,000 for heavier duty coils and sway bars! It now handles like a true sports car, rather than my mother’s Buick!
I bought myself a 2009 Mx5 NC a mnoth ago and started doing little mods to it. Thanks to you, I was able to remove the front bumper with ease. Thanks for making videos and I hope you'll make some more tutorials on how to change bits on the miata.
I added a wing to my '02 back in '03 and had it painted to match the car (red) and it still makes the car look sharp. I also added cold air intake, dual exhausts, header, roll bars and dual hood struts. Waiting for my new power chip arrive. Installed a new soft top in '06 thanks to thieves in Houston,Texas during an over night stay at a motel. They cut a hole in the roof and stole whatever was in the seat. Even took the change that was in the ash tray.
Really enjoy your channel! I’m one of your first subscribers and I’ve learned something from each of your mods.(BTW... I’m 65 yo and a true Miata enthusiast). I have a Marble White 2009 NC and have, so far, kept it clean and stock. It’s my daily driver and I meticulously maintain it to showroom standards. I have upgraded to a Morosso expansion tank (enjoyed your vid on this) and am interested in installing a roll bar. I’m looking forward to your future roll bar video! Continued success with your enjoyable channel!
Killer. I love your caps. I'm tryna decide what wheel to roll with for my 2008 touring. This is the car that made me fall in love with mods. I had a 330ci before and it broke my heart
You have gone pretty much the same as me-- I am just not there yet-- I am going Meister for coil overs, and the PPE header/mid pipe (since I have the AT). Only thing left for you to look at is to do the mod so the fuel cap is powered-so you do not have to open the center console.
Buddy I understand its your car, for my personal taste I hate the black bits... its a really classy car in my opinion. Im not gonna change the appearance very much on mine. Goodluck
The "aero" on the back isnt aero at all as you know. Infact it looks like it would create more drag without planting the car to the road, something you wouldnt want. But shit what do I know. Ive just bought a mk 3, mint with low mileage. The problem is its been 3 days now and I dont want to get out of it to go to bed!!! Nice 1 dude ✌🏽

Haha awesome rob! Glad you'll tune in if I post something different. It's a weird dance on RU-vid since I'm not exactly a lifestyle channel or anything. Thanks from the shout across the pond!
Sometime soon I should make a vid about my NC 2009 Facelift. Have a look at my channel. Unfortunately my (communal) garage is very dark, so I'll have do film it somewhere else. Next mod coming up - 2-DIN Navigation/Audio (professionally implemented). All the best, Rob
is lightly modding these cars for tracks + consumables are pretty much the cheapest possible? debating between 2012 NC and 2003-2005 S2k. Running costs should be higher for s2k but not sure if the diff is substantial please let me know thx
I’m here for the Miata. I like the idea of mods for a bike, but I would prefer you to make another channel for the bike. Leave this to the Miata. Just a thought. By the way, what size are your wheels?
Well this video was from a year ago so a little late for the suggestion haha. Wheels were 17x7, theres lots of content to check out now and rest assured no bikes
After subscribing I went back and looked at your past videos. I saw the one on the wheels. You have a nice looking NC! I will be watching some of your earlier stuff to see what you have done.
I am very interested in the tune outcome video . Either way that would be good relevant information to share. If you didn't finish it tell us why . This Miata brother needs to know !
still very interested . I am old school . My first sports cars had points ,rotors ,spark plugs that got replaced every year ,and distributor caps , so this is new to me .
Do you ever get jerky/hesitations on acceleration after being in bumper to bumper traffic? My AC starts blowing hot then causes some weird acceration hiccups.
Yep that used to happen all the time. I think it's called torque limiter, and can be fixed with a tune! I enjoy life without it now, haha, but I know exactly what you're talking about.
I know u made a video about the rx8 away but how much improvement did you feel after installation? I'm asking because I always think NC is too soft but stiff on bums, and I feel like the sway bar would fix the body roll? What do you think?
No video, it was one of my first mods. It should be easy if you get oem. mine was aftermarket, so really good fit but no mounting brackets. Self tappers along the bottom hold it in fine.
@@ColoredinLight Nice looks great in black with the red. Mines metropolitan silver so not sure whether to go Matt black or colour match. The one I'm looking at is thecarbonhaus.com/store/jdm/mazda/front-lip-09-12/
Colored in Light I'll definitely have to take a look at the video. The dealership I bought it from tried taking some sort of adhesive off of it (I'm assuming from a phone mount) and rubbed the silver off so it looks pretty bad now. Great videos by the way. Too bad your not down here in Cali
Colored in Light yeah, that's the exact spot where mine is! What the heck? Is there some sort of mounting bracket that is made for the NC specifically or something. Or just a big coincidence?
The spoiler looks stupid & slows your car down. Makes you wonder why mazda bothered putting the mx5 through turbulence testing. Spoiler = Drag generator.
