Sinead O'Connor was protesting the Church's (well documented) cover-ups of child abuse. She wasn't protesting the Catholic Church in general. She was actually addressing something that it would take the U.S. 10 more years to finally acknowledge so maybe we should be apologizing to her for how we treated her when she was trying to be an advocate for children.

Whenever The Replacements are mentioned I feel the need to tell this story...During the mid-1980's Iowa State University's radio station was close to having their funding cut which would have crippled the station. They put together a quick concert of local acts to get the word out. Borrowing the previous acts instruments, The Replacements showed up unannounced and did a few songs. Everyone was very appreciative.

He’s THE most overrated musician ever. “He’s never played a solo the same way twice”...... neither has my cat when he slaps his tail against the strings. Hitting sour notes, banging pots and pans, and planning to improvise music almost always results in unbearable sonic torture. I’m not opposed to esoteric creativity, but if your creative efforts are completely underwhelming every single time... there just MIGHT be a lack of talent behind the charade. If anti-establishment affect is his greatest merit, then he’s just another dude with access to instruments, and a (P.A.) Public Address system Edit: Regardless, to each their own. 🤷🏻‍♂️.

@@tamilashultz9676 it is not just an opinion that the church as an organization has protected child molestors for centuries. The GE Smith clip referring to the missing percussionist is not referring to the Replacements. He was talking about the band playing when Bryan Ferry was the guest.

They got the whole Replacement thing wrong. It's not like the info on their performance in hard to come by. You'd think Mojo would at least spend the 30 seconds necessary to fact check their info.

Having Kanye West being banned on performing for future SNL episodes after commenting about his ranting on America is way serious for years afterwards. I guess WM will make an updated version of it. (Edit): System of a Down were completely banned in 2005 after their performance for using racist comments on Michaels.

Zappa is one of my all time fav artists, he didn’t care about what his lyrics said, he cared about the music itself, the instruments, and Hot Rats is a great example of that, only instruments except on Willie The Pimp, and not even for a second I felt it was a monotonous or boring record, most of his records are awesome, Joe’s Garage is my personal favorite cuz the lyrics on that one actually have a message, and the songs are just beautiful

@@guazazqui788 yeah I kinda exaggerated there, what I tried to say is that Zappa did care about lyrics, but the other instruments were far more important, and yes, his lyrics are hilarious and satirical
