The 2008 season was the first full NASCAR season with the Car of Tomorrow. Toyota would finally burst onto the scene, as Joe Gibbs Racing would switch to them, and their new driver Kyle Busch would win 8 races. Carl Edwards dominated throughout the season, but ultimately the championship would be won by Jimmie Joohnson, his third straight.
