I'm an Engineer that worked on the OG rollout as designed by Rudd and Labor and if we had of kept going we would have had world class speeds and service at probably about 25% of the end price. What the LNP did to the NBN is actually criminal and i think about it alot. I'm not a rudd or labor fanboy and i did vote for the LNP at the time but nothing could have prepared us who were on the original rollout for the torpedo and clear sabotage that was heading for us.

I used to work at optus on NBN connections. It’s frightening how accurate this is. Lol

It was perfect calling support 5 times over a week having to pay for technicians saying "it all good" only for the last one to realise they had my house disconnected entirely

It turns out the company quoted the government for tearing up our whole driveway (10ish metres of concrete) to install it.. And we were like.. O.o. It turns out just this morning so far (It was 11AM) he'd saved the government close to 100k lol. The whole thing was a scam

As some one who has worked for an internet installation company. This is accurate.

It's like a documentary of my experiences waiting for nbn. Got notified it was being rolled out in 3 months time. 3 years later every house across the road is on fttc, one house down from us and every house in that direction gets fttn, one house up from us and every house in that direction is fixed wireless. Us and our neighbours had to wait until the supposed end of the roll-out before we were connected finally to fttn.

fuckin chorus in NZ must have got its training from the Aussie NBN. for a block of flats they were hooking up, it took 9 months to run the pvc conduit, and they fucked it up and had to do it again because they got the height of the box's wrong, and that was with a team of 20 blokes, a specialized digging machine, and 3 inspectors, for 4 of those months it was two blokes digging a hole next to a fence, and all of that wasn't even actually running the fiber, just the conduit. a plumber rocked up to redo the buildings water supply at about the 8th month, ran the same amount of the same size conduit and had water reconnected in one afternoon(and he actually ran it into each flat). Rang up chorus, told them this plumber outclassed them, and the next 3 weeks they had 40 people on site and it still took that 3 weeks.

Actually, I got an NBN Ute in for a service today. Good looking Ute

My neighbour to my left had fixed wireless, my neighbour to the right had fixed wireless, my neighbour behind me had fixed wireless but i could not get it. For 6 weeks i argued over the phone to NBN to get fixed wireless and after standing on my roof and taking a photo of direct line of sight to the fixed wireless tower showing a completely unobstructed path to my house they finally installed fixed wireless which took another 2 weeks to get someone around. I fumed when i seen the map and that 1 square that couldn't get NBN
