Good info...going to try that night listening mode cause I love my shield the only issue I have is even in the daytime when even watching same channel notice the audio will suddenly go loud especially when commercial starts and I have to lower the volume and constantly adjust the volume up and down with different channels.
The setting in DEVELOPER MODE for the 3 ANIMATIONS at OFF, mini keyboard problems: I found that setting them at "off" made things skip, letters multiply & whatever the technical terms are, "run on." Setting them at .5 is still very quick & solved this for me so if any1 finds their mini keyboard doing this, change the settings on those 3.
I was hoping for some explanation about the display settings, especially the hdr/Dolby Vision, atmos/DTS:X (or however its spelled) , since there are a lot of options and depending on the tv and receiver, they will vary
good...after testing and researching the Chroma configuration for streaming content, I recommend yuv 420 before 444...since each service uses its algorithms to send the content...which means that they are in charge of sending you the image with their methods...and what they actually do is take an image with its full color 444 or RGB etc etc and then they put all that information into 420 using their algorithms and when we receive that content we receive an image just as if it were 444 or Lossless RGB. Each streaming service has the power to decide how much color to put into each compression method... they can perfectly fit 444 information into 420 signals.... I use GeForce Now to play on Nvidia shield and in games Without hdr it looks the same if I set the shield to 444 than if I set it to 420. It's as if instead of using a 5-seater car for 5 occupants to travel, you create a 3-seater car and introduce 5 occupants... at the end the 5 occupants will come out of the journey of the car
You presented well and showed that you could toggle thru the menu, but even as a novice you didn't bring anything to the table that anyone could not have figured out on their own! You made the Developers Option seem like you were going to share this wealth of tips, tricks, and secrets..then you avoided going over anything! You basically talked about what could be done and then said try it for yourself each item! I'm not trying to be a jerk about it, but your title on YT makes one think that they are about to be given all this vital information, and at the end of the rainbow the pot of Nvbida Gold is EMPTY! Hello, just got a NVIDIA Shield TV box, set it up following your instructions, I have installed some third-party apps, such as cinema, HD, cyber flicks, and some others, I am using Real -Debrid ,but the links won’t play when I click on it, same for non Real- Debrid links, they work on my Firestick 4k Max, thanks
I've had the Shield TV for the last two years and I don't know how much longer it will continue to function flawlessly so I purchased the Pro on Black Friday so I will be prepared when the time comes. I already had the 2021 Apple4K and a 2nd Gen cube to use as backups but as far as I am concerned they are useless. Whenever Nvidia releases their new streamer I will be on it.
I have the 2019 Shield tube and my quandary is that my A90J has a 2.1 earc hdmi port for audio and the Shield has a 2.0 hdmi port so the ports are not identical so am I truly receiving lossless audio?

@@ianmoone1138 thank you very much... but after trying modes and doing quite a bit of research. as far as playing GeForce Now :420 10bits rec 709 gives the same image quality as 444 8bits. GeForce Now's encoding method is intended for 420. In that compression format, they already incorporate all the color space that you would receive with 444. In this way, I don't have color loss between 420 and 444. Since they put all the color in the 420 format so that we see it the same as if we would have position 444 ..at least in the tests that I do in GeForce now
Yes, I see that now too, in my research. You’re absolutely right that the differences are negligible for gaming. 4:4:4 is the way to go for PC when working with text based tasks. Not at all necessarily for gaming.
@@ianmoone1138 thanks for answering... there is a lot of confusion on this topic... but after researching and coming to the conclusion that although in physical format, be it movies and games, 444 would be the most ideal to get full color... however, in streaming content, the distributors of that content can manage the Chroma and send it in 420... I mean they take a 444 image and transform it without losing color in 420 since they decide how to send that image over the network...
@@ivanfernandez9956 Right, I’m also coming across the fact that most physical media is either mastered and or printed on disc with the 4:2:0 or 4:2:2 format. 4:4:4 is not even really a thing for physical media (films, shows, etc.). Does this align with your research as well?

I have the Shield tube which does not have even half of the adjustments of the Pro and with all those adjustments on it how would know if you are using them correctly?

I have the 2019 Shield TV and I want to upgrade to the Pro even though I don't game and it should be close to Nvidia releasing their upgraded models soon I hope so I'm going to wait. I was going to buy the superbox s3 pro but i was told that the content not good in the UK is where i live. My Question is can i watch TV sports and watch Movies. I've had nothing but problems with this thing , Netflix is constantly not working.I had the original Shield and didn't have any issues ,this one always has buggy software for me .
@UGT I hope there is a new one when the next switch comes out, which would be logical because they use the same internals. New gen tegra SOC with 8gb ram would be lovely
@@thicknjustrite It's new out of the box , lights work only when buttons are pressed. Made me think it was a knock off remote or something. Can't seem to find anyone with the same issue anywhere online
New or not, try a battery change. It’s a troubleshooting process. After that, if it still doesn’t work properly. it’s likely a defective remote - not a “knock off”.
