The pastors have the visible platform to call out the evil occurring in our communities and our country. We left our previous home church after the senior pastor openly stated during the riots of 2020 that he will not speak om politics and current events.

If you haven't read the bible read it first. If you are not a Christ follower you need to be. Then read this book. It is extremely relevant to what is happening today in the world. It is a call for the church to wake up so that we don't have a repeat of Nazi Germany only on steroids.

You are spot on, Eric. My grandparents came from Germany in 1907 to America...they saw the pending doom of WW1 which came years later, but the groundwork was being set. Love how you explain it all❤

Yes, it would be nice if the pastors in America would stand up, but, if they don’t, we (individuals) should. We must be willing to stand alone now. We must not wait for others to join.
American pastors expose one another. Who is right? Perhaps both. Who is wrong? Both! Who preaches Christ? Nobody. Who preaches the Gospel? Nobody. They do not even know the Gospel. They do not know Christ. If you stop giving money to the "church" they will disapear.
The silence of the Church has made is now the ignored! Like he said..."we've muzzled ourselves." Pastors need to preach the Word unapologetically and stand up for the truth of God's Word! It has the answers this dying world needs!

I read Bonhoeffer, and it lit a fire in me to live for Jesus even more. I love Jesus so much, but knowing the evils we are up against and will be up against in the future, gives me a renewed sense of standing strong for what’s coming.

I admire Eric very much. I agree we must be bold witnesses in this evil time. But I believe these times are ordained of God, and we are very close to the rapture and tribulation. I do not see any way this will be turned around. I am looking for the kingdom of Christ, not any earthly politician. We are living in the feet of Daniel's statue.

This is precisely why folks who say eschatology doesn't matter, are out to lunch. It definitely frames how we respond to the moral collapse of society. If we're convinced we're getting raptured in our lifetime, then we're essentially just going to tread water till that happens. However, if we believe that we could just be in another "time of the judges" where every man does what is right in his own eyes, then that means this could just be a cycle that will eventually give way to an upright nation again. The truth is that, either way, the church needs to be engaged as stewards of this nation, bringing the truth of God's word to bear on all aspects of life, and actively participating in the privilege of actually having a say over who our local and federal leaders are. Meanwhile, we oppose the shedding of innocent blood, the chemical castration of children, and the sexual corruption of minors. Like Telemachus, we stand up and say, "In the name of Christ, STOP!" Like David, we say, "Who are you to suppose you can stand and mock Yahweh?" Looking for opportunities to share the gospel? Try living your life like that and just watch the zany hijinks that will ensue.

There is a ground- swell of God's people awakening to the in-your-face evil being perpetrated in Canada - where I reside - and in the USA. Some are very bold and are not going to stop fighting "the good fight".May this be so for all of us!
I can't see Pastors of different Christian faiths ever linking arms in solidarity and fighting this evil because their egos won't allow them to work with other denominations. They covet their own little group and opening it up to other faiths would be a risk and a controversy that they're not willing to pursue. They'd rather remain silent and part of the 12,000.

Ge expresses my internal beliefs about the silence of the church. We don't want tp be labeled intolerant, or racist or transphobic, etc. Language we allow and use. Isn't the most loving thing we can do is speak truth.

It’s hard for me to even comprehend forgiveness without understanding Gods forgiveness for me. The cost of speaking the truth will cost us more than it ever did. It costs our brothers and sisters everything, even their lives. I have recently written a Letter To The Churches in the Eastern Panhandle of WV to bring awareness to our (the church) responsibility to open our eyes , ears and hearts to the devastation of death to overdose of opioids. Up here in Canada in Mississauga near Toronto, the Muslim community were peacefully protesting to leave our children alone. I thought where are the Christians? Is there something wrong with protest in solidarity with another religion for a common cause?
Comfort leads to Complacency that leads to Compromise that results in apathy, passivity, laziness, lack of discernment and eventual doom. Who don't know that? We hail disruptive technology and that same disruptive attitude creeps its way into our moral society that nudges out common sense, leaving behind a trail of moral decay and destructive initiatives, thinking that we are wise. What foolishness!!!
one of the major problems of the contemporary church is manifest in the fact that Eric speaks to "pastors". We have to come to understand that christianity is not a leader-run movement, but a grassroot-run movement. Jesus explicitly tells us in Mat. 23,8ff that among us no one should be called a "rabbi", "master", "father" or "teacher", but rather we are all brothers. That is the fundamental "architecture" of the church. Yes, there are pastors and teachers in Eph. 4,11, but they operate within the frame laid out by Jesus, meaning they do not hold authority, they are certainly not delegated authority, but they are brothers and sistes like anyone else. The rule from Mat. 23 is: Jesus does not ever delegate any of His authority to a human for the purpose of ruling over other humans. Period. Simple as that. A christian leader leads through example as a brother only! Setting up church organizations is fundamentally antichrist. Establishing institutions that bestow people with "ordinations" or titles that supposedly grant them the right to exert authority over fellow christians is fundamentally wrong and unbiblical! Such organizations will not be able to withstand the onslaught of evil, as they are wordly in nature. They are like Saul's armor that was offered to David before facing the giant goliath. Luckily, David rejected the armor and chose the river pebble which he slung at goliaths's head to save israel. Realistically, "church" organizations aren't church at all in the biblical sense. They are often just schemes to cater for the arrogant, the lazy and the greedy! Hebr. 13,12+13: And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood. Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore. We need to give the world a church that truly mirrors Jesus's character and teachings. Not a "church" that mirrors worldly structures. Certainly not a "church" that strives to be "relevant" by worldly means. The word of God is relevant already!
