The Black noir shown in THE BOYS web series is in no way a Batman’s parody..! Batman is the leader of Justice League not Superman and Batman never ‘obeys’ Superman rather he is the one who keeps him in check..! As far as the comic book version Black noir is actually another homelander rather even more powerful and finally he is the one who kills him…! This in a way (although Batman is not more powerful than Superman but we saw how if he wants he can defeat Superman as he knows his weakness) can to some extent be compared to the Bat..!

Knight Hawk and Tek Knight are the batman pastiches. Noir is Snake Eyes or just any given ninja.

The Boys might be a parody of existing mainstream comic hero's. But the Boys does it better, way, way better. The originals are more like parodies of the Boys. Another aspect of character that the Boys absolutely Nails. is the trinity of characterisations. This trinity can be seen in what can be considered the best in series film or book. "The Crone", "The Mother" and "the maisden". I'll leave it to you to look back at any well written character story and you will see them. Hughie or D'Artagnan and many other examples of the fourth aspect are the innocence the potential to become one of the three arch types. Hughie follows the crone, where as D'Artagnan followed the Mother etc. Terry Pratchette played on these acrch types with his witches from Disc World.

Just thought of a theory while watching this.. i have always felt besides the superhero genre deconstruction, this show is also about political commentary of the real world. Homelander's character is the US,most powerful country by far, has potential to nuke the entire world many times over,likes pretending saviour, but is the biggest villain in the shadows,that arabic supe terrorist, whose power is to go boom , is pretty much on the nose, and the only japanese character, kimiko is mute, just like japan was muted after the ww2, stormfront is the old nazi germany literally, vought is capitalism/corporate greed personified, Butcher is the UK, going weaker, still one of the most experienced player on the block, morally questionable,also has a rift with Homelander (US), but teams up when going against soldier boy(Russia) , frenchy is well France, allied to both positive and negative sides, having a dark past of crime on its own, and also having taste for finer things, A Train is mostly BLM(sorta), while starlight is a place in for the woke left
