That's mainly due to quality seasonings and spices being a luxurious commodity. Even salt was tricky to come by and certain spices were used more for medicine rather than cooking.
I think my favorite part is that over time the big pupper goes from angrily or irritably demanding meals, to waiting patiently, to being quietly interested in seeing how the meals will be cooked next. Like he's been taught the value of waiting for a meal.
@@Freedomcustom Fun fact: In the original light novel and manga, they used bland name products ("Eon" instead of "Aeon", "Bara Foods" instead of "Ebara Foods", "Bepsi" instead of "Pepsi", etc.) However, by the time the anime was being produced, and given the cozy and nice nature of the original story, they were able to secure sponsorship from the actual food product manufacturers and companies and allowed to use their actual packaging and products in detail on the show. And it worked! I've been trying to hunt down that ginger sauce/marinade used in the first Red Boar dish! In Japan, getting some of this stuff is as easy as going to the local grocery store, but outside of Japan, I have to find an import food store or something to get my mitts on it.
Love this anime. The character’s reaction towards the food is genuine and the food looks delicious. No clothes flying off every time they take a bite and no weird orgasmic moans, unlike another anime.
Okay hey! We love the food but don’t diss on food wars, that was actually really funny to see every time. Plus the dude who did the art was a former ecchi artist, so you make do!
I like how there was very little fanservice at all in the anime and manga, actually. It's nice to see actual plot without awkward pauses to show how hot the artists can draw women.
The music and the way Mukoda's VA speaks during the cooking segment make them sound straight out of a Japanese variety cooking segment. It just makes them all so cozy and homely.
Yeah the budget/focus went to the right places. I definitely felt like I was learning a recipe whereas a lot of other shows it feels like, they made some regional favorite dish for x trope reason. It was much better conveyed here as being a part of how the show is, not a detour.
While the Japanese do love food, it's actually because of a single controversial anime scene that caused the huge boom of anime food quality. Look up "anime cabbage controversy" to see what I mean.
@@tonyle7492 Who can blame you, but hey, its all about how you cook it, along with the taste and texture, whats more, I adore the attention they done for each dishes, its just amazing.
That's what I wanted to say too brokenconstellation! The reactions of the various travelers they work with to the food seems to be for whatever reason cut out of most videos so I'm very thankful.
Since it was a name he mentioned, I got curious and googled it. Turns out Ebara Foods actually exist and the marinade bottles look very similar to the ones in the anime.
There's a ton of product placement in here. Even the bottled water is Suntory brand, one of the biggest general drink producers in Japan. Along with a bunch of other products used like the soup powders and the like.
lol can u please also write down the name of the ingredients like the sake that he uses and the sauces... i am going crazy trying to figure them out and where to be able to purchase them... I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT ☺
most of the sauce can be made with basic japanese sauces: cooking sake, mirin, and soy sauce. each recipe had different ratio tho for example, iirc teriyaki sauce is equal parts of mirin, sake, soy sauce, and sugar
The fact that he usually just buys pre-made soup instead of making his own, stresses me out. I was raised in believe that unless you eat a home-made soup at leas once a week, you'll explode or something.
I'm really hoping that as the series progresses there's no conflict where the wolf beast dude suddenly gets ill because of the garlic and onions since dogs can't eat those.
I don’t think Fell can get sick at least not in the conventional ways, as Mukouda tells Fell not to eat too many sweets or he’ll I get cavities, but Fell mentions thanks to his minor bless of wind from the goddess ninrinir he can’t get sick lol
@@lonerboy18 I also think him cooking it will probably help offset some of the concerns. Various grains for example he disliked before Mukouda came along.
He cannonballs cannot get sick or be poisoned thanks to his blessing from the wind goddess. And Fel isn't a dog he is pretty offended by the comparison on multiple occasions.
I need a smorgasbord of steaks, picattas, spaghetti, foil-grilled fish (tuna or salmon, please), and a fk-load of croquettes. Oh, and like a ton of anti-acid.
Idk man..the whole packets for flavor seems kinda cheap. I woulda enjoyed it better if he did it from scratch. Decided to cut it cuz the fox was kinda annoying .
