Putting sunflower so low on the list is crazy, i thought it sucked too, ended up testing it because i mainly play holy, and it ended up becoming my main weapon for the whole dlc
I disagree heavily with the storm beast talismen, storm blade, stormcaller, blackflame tornado are very commonly used ashes of war. Storm blade expecially is a ace Ash of war and frankly, the bread and butter of most dexterity builds.
I rarely see ppl use storm blade. Actually im sure i never saw someone use this ash of war, and thats the reason why i wanted to try it, and loved it in the end.
Counter argument: storm blade isn't used very much atleast now, stormcaller got needed so isn't as useful anymore but I guess that one is okay and black flame tornado has a more important role with % damage not raw damage
Zamor ice storm too. And I think it works on nephelis axes, but I did not test them. Maybe someone has I haven't tried storm stomp. But if it works on that it may work on hoarfrost stomp too. I think he highly underrated this talisman, probably because he doesn't use the storm spells and doesn't realize how many there are and how useful they can be Storm caller may have got a nerf but build around it and you won't notice. Especially if you use bleed, lob exaltation, the storm talisman, shard of Alexander White mask etc.. use a weapon with innate bleed with high arcane and put it on occult
31:58 it’s not because the sword doesn’t do madness, not even inside the fight. It’s a holy weapon of the inquisitors, and its whole point is to torture Midra and contain his madness, but even if you put aside the lore, Midra doesn’t proc madness with it, so neither should we. I’ve heard this take a lot from many people and I sometimes wonder if they even paid attention to the fight. The sword doesn’t inflict madness, the flame does. The only time you get madness from being hit by the sword is during phase 2 where he temporarily infuses it with the flame of frenzy for a combo, which is, again, the flame, not the sword
I agree that it wouldn't make perfect sense to put madness on the weapon, but in my opinion there should still be atleast a bit of madness in the moveset (for example on a fully charged heavy attack), just to lean more into the PvP aspect they were going for
Man, I wish it was. It wouldn't be the first time something holy has been corrupted by a foreign element, and it would give Frenzy a more consistent weapon than the usual base game Great Spear, a fist and... Perfume, for some reason.
As far as im aware, neither of radahn's swords have gravity or light related powers lore-wise, but we still get those in the Ash of War in all 3 of his swords
@@gustavogodoy5651 It should have the gravity one on account of the yellow engravings on the blades themselves. The light attacks are 100% on Miquella's divine power, and they kinda make sense because the remembrance we use to make them includes both Radahn *and* Miquella.
Yea, that's true, but from perhaps the only frenzied flame themed boss, people would have expected a more thematically fitting sword, you know, another source of frenzy that would be from a boss weapon but it's still a good sword nonetheless and fits well lorewise
Dude a 10% buff on stormcaller storm blade and zamor ice storm is literally straight to s tier, literally buffing already top tier ashes of war is amazing
1:46 So... if no one else is gonna say it, I might as well... the Enraged Divine Beast talisman doesn't buff Black Flame Tornado. The main things it buffs is all of the weapon skills and spells that have the word "storm" in them (so Zamor Ice Storm, Storm Blade, Stormcaller, etc.) and the Divine Beast Tornado incantation. It's honestly extremely powerful considering a good chunk of the ashes of war it buffs just happen to be some of the best ones in the entire game (the 3 I mentioned prior in particular are all extremely strong)
I thought it did buff black flame tornado. I haven't tried it but apparently other creators have been saying it does. Guess I'll have to test. Just may be a couple days before I can and I'm 100 sure I'm going to forget lol
@@laary7589 no I don't think so. Axe Talisman doesn't buff charged skills. It's a case where they only buff the basic move like holding down r2 or pressing x then r1 or r2 which I think is fair since many aow are already so powerful and are buffed by Shard of Alexander and elemental buffs
Dragon communion incants are gotten through a ritual where you consume a dragons heart and take its ability. Placidusax's ruin comes from his rememberance. No ritual involved. therefore its not a communion incant
Kind of insane how this guy is making these vids without actually being knowledgeable in the topic. Not doing the follow up on wave of darkness, or not knowing what count's as storm is just a few.
That and writing off the Staff of the Great Beyond as having "not much going on there.", is fucking stupid. I don't know, I'd say that a staff that can cast *both Sorceries and Incantations* has something going on there. That's even before you realize that it's also the strongest Int/Fth Staff until you get to 61 in both stats.

Yea I feel like sometimes maybe ppl get stuck in their own play styles and sleep on other things. They may try stuff and it doesn't go well and so they move on. I think it's because there are so many options in this game, we often don't test things enough to get a feel for them. I respect a specific creator who would do an entire play through with every weapon and every aow and every spell. I trust his judgement
That and his comment about the Staff of the Great Beyond having "not much going on there." when it can cast BOTH SORCEREIS AND INCANTATIONS, while also being the most powerful Int/Fth Staff up to 61 Intelligence and Faith.

Dragon communion doesn't buff it because dragon communion seems to be tires to bayle. All the drakes we kill and eat hearts they are descendants of bayle. Placi is a dif kind if ancient dragon that was an enemy of bayle. Which is why it's only faith required. Placi was the god of the lands between (faith) and bayle opposed him
This list just makes me realize that everybody's list would be completely different from the next person...I don't agree with a bunch of what was said, but I also don't agree with a bunch of stuff I see in the comments...I think everybody is just biased by their own playstyles...
The reason that plucidusax ruin doesn’t get buffed by the dragon communion seal is because he isn’t a dragon as it says this in the lore and dragon wound grease doesn’t work on him
20:00 while i agree that the sword of radahn light is in need of some major tuning cuz like taking this thing into pvp and pve i have NO idea what it's meant to be used for this thing is kinda shite the lord variant is nuts! I've hit upwards of 10k in a full combo before against base game enemies and that was without multiple other important buffs, slap on some poise and get in close and watch their healthbar disappear, however i will NOT tolerate teh slander of my shadow sunflower blossom from 20:56 onwards like dawg this thing has so much hyper armour on its AoW it's ludicrous and you can CHUNK enemies with heavies alone and putting it below METYR'S FINGER and GODRICK'S AXE and even the POLEBLADE OF THE BUD is outta control put some respect on my boy >:(
The other weaker Radahn sword should instead let you do his fly up and toss down meteors attack. Hell make it a stance weapon. Light attack is the fly up and toss meteors down the heavy would be fly up and do his after image clone barrage attack. They never let the player do the cool shit man.
This dude actually said Poleblade of Bud “doesn’t swing fast because it has THAT Halberd moveset.” Meanwhile it has the Gaurdian Swordspear moveset which is way way quicker hitting than standard Halberd. The weapon is pretty good. The problem with the weapon is that it doesn’t do enough rot buildup and you should have more control of the WA. The moveset and the quick R1’s are the best part of the weapon. This guy knows next to nothing about ER. It’s crazy how many things he got wrong in this vid. Homie cast Waves of Darkness ten times and didn’t do the follow up once. I mean come on dude... All bro does is spam WA’s yet doesn’t know that many unique weapons WA scales solely of Int/Faith/Arcane. He’s always going on and on about split damage yet never mentions that most split damage boss weps WA scale solely off Int, Faith or Arcane?? Trying this again, because I think RU-vid shadowbanned me for some reason: You are seriously misrepresenting the utility of the Ancestral Spirit Horn. Obviously, you're not supposed to use it with AoW/weapon skills/spells. You're supposed to kill weaker enemies with attacks that don't consume FP. The whole point is to regain FP without expending it, because anything that consumes FP should be reserved for tougher enemies. Equip this talisman and just hunt sheep, deer, etc with throwing knives, a bow or simply run at them with a sword or whatever. Equip the Sacrificial Axe in your off hand for better results. These are tools for regaining FP between the big fights.
Elden Ring has a Grace literally every corner you turn to and it got straight out classed with the Blue Blessed Dew Talisman. It was bad before and its still bad but far faaar worse as Blue Blessed Dew is a outstanding talisman that the Horn could never compare to.
@@juliusarcher7241 Resting at graces respawns all the enemies, is the thing. Like, if I'm clearing a dungeon then I'm not going back to the grace to regain my FP or flasks, because then I'll have to do it all over again. Resting at graces is for when you're pressing forward with no intention of backtracking. (And even then I won't actually rest at them if I don't need to.) As for the Blue Blessed Dew, it's also a great tool and I'm very glad they added it, but A) it's post Mohg, so it may take a while to get a hold of and B) under the right circumstances the horn and axe combo may be more efficient. Or at least using them is less boring than standing around for several minutes waiting for the BBD to fill you back up. But yeah, I'll use both or switch them out depending on the situation. I actually wish they'd added more FP regen options, like something equivalent to the Icon Shield, so I could speed it up more.

Placidusax's Ruin isn't affected by the Dragon Communion seal because lorewise, you don't eat his heart in order to gain it which is the Dragon Communion way, and Dragon Communion is a rite introduced by Placidusax and his faithful to ambitious humans in order to foster a human strong enough to kill Bayle and his kin (with the ultimate goal being the slaying of Bayle himself) because Placidusax and the Ancient Dragons have extreme beef with Bayle and the dragons he spawned (which is every non-Ancient Dragon in the game).
He does know that a majority of spells can be casted on Torrent, right? All the fireballs, all the glinstone comet variants, at least half of the lightning spells, all phalanxes, some buffs like Fire Grant me Strength and Blackflame Protection, the holy ring spells, and many more. Idk what’s so special about being able to cast Vortex of Putrescence on Torrent…
Dude, blades of stone on an INT build are some of, if not THE most efficient damage per FP, this spell is an amazing addition, how did you put it below the wet fart of putresence?
I might be the only person who really enjoys using Rykards Rancor. It may be slow, and tough to use against quick moving enemies, but circling an enemy, on torrent, while firing a few off, then watching their health chip away with each explosion is strangely gratifying.
Messmer's orb is an awesome spell and is certainly effective, but I wouldn't call the hyperarmor it has "decent" it pretty much has none, I mean just in the footage you were staggered out of the cast by a single swing from a damn misbegotten, for such a long casting time it's a huge drawback and I really hope From gives it some in a balance patch, as well as buffing most of the other DLC boss weapons and incantations, most of which are pretty underpowered for no real reason

When using Placidusax's ruin, the startup of the incantation has a lightning explosion that damages and knocks back enemies For enemies that can be completely knocked away by it, it puts them perfectly in the range for the first laser and comes out almost immediately Also reguarding the greatsword from Midra, it doesnt proc madness because of it's lore purpose, it was stuck in him to supress his madness, he removed it to have it stop supressing the madness So the sword is inherently opposing madness and the lore would have to be changed post-release for that sword to make sense having madness buildup Also about waterfowl, Malenia has a negative poise bug that causes her to randomly completely ignore all forms of stance damage, it is incredibly janky and corrects almost randomly, sometimes after the next hit, sometimes after shes done attacking, sometimes after she takes multiple hits Malenia is not supposed to be so hard to knock out of waterfowl, which is why the player isnt when using it
Brother, Midra embews that thing with Frenzy in his second phase. We should've had a stance weapon. One with the Hornsent ability, and the other is with that Midra combo of his, which procs madness on the player and enemy. To prevent overuse.
4:06 This is great for continually staggering enemies which are human sized like soldiers and even Malenia, which opens them up for attacks as slow as a charged heavy, which go great with the weapons that this AoW is usable on.
to say nothing about the finger rememberance staff is something id recommend relooking into. the staff itself is a dual catalyst for faith and int incantations and sorceries, it is a very good staff and something to consider for int or faith builds, i dont get how this wasnt explored at all it feels like it wasnt even studied, once sentence is all that is for it
Land of shsdow is just a worst golden land, DON'T USE LAND OF SHADOW, IT AIN'T WORTH IT. Greatsword of damnation should NOT build madness, as this will make it so that you can basically get a guaranteed grab with the AoW, which already deals a truck load of damage, that would get nerfed to oblivion😂. Divine beast talisman also buffs stuff like zamor ice storm, which is probably one of the best AoW in the game.
Putting the Storm talisman so low makes no sense, it is a most have pick for any build with storm spells/ashes of wars, and this would apply to a pretty large and varied amount of builds. Saying its "not applicable for most players" makes no sense, as that applies far more to any weapon you put on this list
@chopper the reason placidusax doesn't scale with dragon communion is because he's not a drake, he's an ancient. I'd count it as a dragon cult spell moreso than dragon communion
So many people here are just complainers for the sake of complaining. You can bea tthis game with only your fists and using your feet on the controller with a blindfold on. There is isn't any weapon or spell that is useless. Some are just easier to use and build around than others. Get over it.

Agreed. I think the community sleeps on it a bit. I never see it used in builds. Obviously now we have the blessed Dew talisman for FP. But prior to that it was great to use for mainly melee but use for for semi regular buffs or weapon arts. Right now the blessed Dew fp talisman has been working better for exploration for me. But the spirit horn was great, even sometimes to swap in and kill some crabs or rolling sheep or something lol
Storm beast talisman is really good. Storm blade is one of the best projectiles for anyone not using a casting build. So anything that buffs that is gonna be great. Also not to mention it buffing Zamora ice storm too.
Starscourge greatswords carried me through the game , my journey was blood hounds fang , radahns swords , loralettas halberd , then back to radahns swords
50 options now, but only 10 caskets/mosoleumes. I'm currently on ng+1 since the DLC because of this. Edit: 51 items actually, i forgot the dlc endboss has 3 items for some dumdum reason.

I've seen this mentioned elsewhere, but maybe it should have been a separate drop from the Remembrance. Meaning that you need to kill Midra to get it, but it doesn't take up a slot where you could have had something like his super Frenzied Burst as an Incant.
Placidusax incantation does not get buffed by the dragon communion seal cause its not a dragon communion incantation. You didnt consume his heart, plus dragon communion can only be done in drakes not actual ancient dragons. And midras sword does not do madness cause its meant to kill madness not cause it. So yeah both fucked by lore.

Crazy so may ER RU-vidrs still go on about “split damage” like it’s Dark Souls IV... the devs accounted for this. Notice how high the AR is on a split damage wep? This is to compensate for double absorption. Never heard anyone complain about BB, DMGS or Mohgwyn’s cuz of “split damage.”
19:30 hiw longer does your buffs last and can you buff again in the middle of a battle . I don't think so . But winged greathorn uses only one tap to debuff an enemy and it debuffs all kind of damage negation for a whole goddam minute . I don't think thats bad
Storm is hella ranked low which is extremely sad i would rank it above some boss weapons imo its that good. It affects so many ashes and its a 10% dmg increase.
