My snakes miss their food a lot as well, I managed to get them to eat off of a white plate. Way better and cleaner.

Emily Ruhnke It’s new to me too! I’ve used it on my snake who rubbed her head on the screen of the enclosure and it helped it heal right up in no time! I love it!

I think a lot people forget that not everyone lives in cities. If you have well water than you don't need to add repitsafe to your animals water
@reptiliangarden

Jayne Cobb I’m not sure about the different kinds of water, so I always recommend it just to be safe

Maybe we will see you on the Tinley show. Other thing I think everyone should have is extra heat bulbs or uvb tubes
@TrueBeelzebub
@TrueBeelzebub 5 лет назад
We all know that moment when you drop and brake your bulb then you have to go out and get another
@jpslizards
@jpslizards 5 лет назад
It's a good thing I haven't drop one..yet lol. But it did happened to me one time where one bulb just went out and I had to go to the store to buy another one very late. I got to the store a few minutes before they were closed

YES to extra bulbs! Same goes for heat mats.

One more item that is FREE... it's extremely important to have is a game plan for any natural disaster that may strike in your area; hurricane, tornado, flood, earthquake, wildfire, ice storm, etc. such as where you will go and how you will get all of your animals and their food and other basic needs to a safe location. Something to keep your animals warm and lighted during prolonged power outages is also vital.

Excellent video, and I am going to get a couple of items you recommended. I have an additional suggestion, though it might be worthy of its own video: I went through the wildfires in N. California last year, and reptile owners faced their own set of challenges. It's essential to have a 'get out quick' kit put together that includes everything from pillowcases/small containers to heat packs, bottled water, small freezer packs for food items, and basic first aid items. A disaster with the need to evacuate fast can strike anyone anywhere, and when you have almost no time to react, basic preparation can determine whether you're able to get some or all of your pets out alive.

Another thing that is great to have is a food scale for weighing your reptiles. It’s a good thing to know how much your animal weighs.
@adley.and.b
@adley.and.b 4 года назад
Other thing battery pack! Its a think you can plug things into without having to use a socket! Get one incase of power outages. My teachers beardie died because of going without his heat lamp during a hurricane.
@LyssasLizards
@LyssasLizards 5 лет назад
Pro Electricty Tip: You can buy an 18+ plug extension cord online and plug it into one timer so all lights turn on and off on the same exact daily schedule. It's been the biggest time saver for me!
@stinnje
@stinnje 5 лет назад
I would add a small digital scale to this list because monthly weigh-ins are great for monitoring animals' health and growth. Also, instead of plastic baggies for supplements, I use Repti-Cal Cricket Shakers. I have three (one for each supplement), labeled in Sharpie. They help to keep me from WEARING the supplements, haha!

I use a soft cat carrier with mesh sides for my bearded dragon when going to the vet. She loves it and it’s great in case she gets spooked. She cuddles up to her blanket in there and feels secure. ☺️🦎❤️

I actually use a guinea pig carrier I found at petco with a baby blanket inside whenever I have to take my beardie Gerald with me anywhere. He hates going in, but once he's in, he's good 👍🏻everyone who sees it thinks it's hilarious 😂
@hannahismylastname1420
@hannahismylastname1420 5 лет назад
Morgan Thurston hahaha! I bet that is pretty hilarious 😂! It’s funny because I will normally just take mine in a blanket to ride in the car,etc... but once she sees that carrier, she loves to go in and cuddle up to her “carrier blanket” lol it’s her fav. I just love beardies, they have to nest personalities ❤️

@@morganthurston7975 I have three of those little guinea pig/hamster-style carriers (one for my smaller beardie and two for geckos! The bigger beardie gets a kitten carrier.) They're great.

A better and cheaper alternative to reptisafe is distilled water. Another name for distilled water is pure water. If you're goal is get eliminate all the junk in tap water you can buy distilled by the gallon and it's super cheap. I ended up buying a water distiller.

Reptisafe is unnecessary in Europe, especially if you live close to glaciers (i.e. alp region) since the water is not at all chlorinated.

Hey there ! www.reptifiles.com/ball-python-care-guide/ball-python-feeding/ I attached this I’m a new keeper myself and her comment on reptisafe being a more dangerous chemical than the small amounts of chlorine in our water does make sense to me ........... what are your thoughts ? I’m still using it lol but I thought it was interesting information. She has also done a podcast with “animals at home “ where she talks about how she got her info and I am now more confused than ever !
