The fact that jc staff was able to even make some good cuts even with the timeconstrains is phenomenal. Imagine how it would've looked if they had the time that they needed.
For sure. I don’t blame the animators at all, just the circumstances surrounding the production. I’m not that familiar with the studio’s output besides Hi-Score Girl and Saiki K but I know there are plenty of talented people there that likely just didn’t have the time and budget they needed.
@@BiffWeed They had some good directors and animators, Its such a shame that s2 was rushed, I have faith for s3 I doubt they would make the same mistake.
This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I actually loved both season 1 and season 2 of One Punch Man equally. While, yes, I agree with the general consensus that season 1 undoubtedly has much better animation and fight scenes, I actually feel that season 2 does have a few things over season 1. The world building is better and we get to learn more about the monster association. Additionally, Garou carries the second season HARD. Also, while I'm super hyped for season 3, I'm admittedly worried that it's been over a year since season 3 was first announced and we still have not gotten any official information at all about the third season other than the fact that it is confirmed to happen. The lack of content for the anime side of OPM for the past few years admittedly depresses me, especially when you consider that season 2 aired back in 2019 and we have not gotten any new anime content from OPM since then. And its almost the end of 2023 now, meaning that it's been nearly 5 years without a new OPM season. The wait has been painful. At least we still have the manga and webcomic to hold us over.
They animation is not nearly as bad as the sound design though. When every punch sounds like a gunshot it feels way off. 4:45 In the manga this had the martial artists' moves match-cutting with Genos' moves. I have no idea why the anime decided to not use that and instead do all of the martial arts first and then cut to Genos. 31:11 In the anime the wind that blows them back is from Phoenix Man. In the manga it's from Garou lifting up the tree in swinging it for a much more badass last stand. Here he just screams without doing anything so it looks pathetic.
As someone who doesnt mind animation quality being lessened alot (with some exceptions) I like stories and some cool fights and season two did not disappoint with again more amazing writing hilarious jokes. And tropes that I find alot of flaws in done to perfection. King is a character thats very hard to make work imo. But hes one of my favorites with his development and jokes. Honestly i cant blame monsters for being scared of him. If i met him and i heard the king engine and saw that terrifying face. Id be scared as well!
This season sold me on King but I could never have anticipated how far they’d go with him later in the manga. Can’t wait to see it get adapted into animation
Because there has been only one time when it took Saitama more than one punch to take someone out. And that was only because his opponent had regeneration on a grand scale
I think it stands out a lot more as a problem for people considering how amazing the animation was for season 1, and also considering that Mob Psycho continued at around the same time without having its own drop off in animation quality.
Legends foretold of this video dropping. Some came to doubt, some never stopped believing. Now...on this All Hallows Eve (or like almost 10 in the morning) The legend has come.
A lot of people disliked this season because of the animation. I didn't mind. The thing that got to me was that it essentially ended on a cliffhanger. The fact that the Garou plotline wasn't resolved, and we've had yet to get a new season really bothered me. It didn't kill it for me though, I still enjoyed it.
As far as I can remember from what I’ve read of the manga, this was about as natural of a stopping point as we could reasonably get with a 12-episode season. Garou is briefly out of commission, the tournament is over and Elder Centipede is dead, so this was as good of a break as we were gonna get. The Monster Association arc is very long with the manga adaptation only wrapping up a year ago, we weren’t getting the full adaptation of the webcomic without tripling or quadrupling the episode count or the pacing getting absolutely shot to hell. Season 3 will hopefully be able to reach a more fulfilling end point.
@@BiffWeed Ah. Speaking of, I really need to get into the manga at some point. Maybe even check out the original web comic. I've been so starved for season 3, I might as well. Let's hope season 3 kicks ass when it comes out.
@@BrawlYoshi if you’re planning to read to the end of the Monster Association arc, even though I’m more familiar with the manga I’d recommend going with the webcomic for the ending. The manga has the better action by a landslide but it kinda dropped the ball with the writing towards the end.
Idk if you’ll see this but I am very interested on your thoughts on the Bfdi series as you’ve used audios of it for transitions but from what I can remember you have never talked about it so I am interested on your stances on it
One Punch man is easily my 4th favorite anime... ive only seen 5 animes but dont think that it means i think its not good, i loved the series and im super excited for season 3
@BiffWeed well they are 1Kill la Kill (can probably be guessed from my pfp) 2 Gurren Lagann 3 My Hero Academia 4 One Punch Man 5 Record of Ragnarok And I don't think any of them are bad. I've been planning on watching more anime but I just haven't really felt motivated to recently for whatever reason
