8:14 Look, there has absolutely been too much shit thrown at DevilArtemis for this fight, I cannot stress how much I agree with this point and my respect for what he was able to do in the position he was in is massive, especially considering I just spent the past 4 years getting my degree in the same field. That being said, I think there’s something to be said for the sentiment of wondering about if Torrian had directed this fight that goes beyond a simple distaste for DevilArtemis as an animator, and that absolutely has to do with the specialization of both animators. DevilArtemis is a FANTASTIC animator, so is Torrian, but they’re fantastic at different things and that’s due to their training. For Artemis, he’s very much more trained for body language, expression, and the more acting-based side of the spectrum. Not to say that he CAN’T do other things, but a specialty comes about from what you do the most, which is why his work on HFIL and his own Cell VS series is so phenomenal. Torrian is the opposite side of this equation. Torrian’s animations usually aren’t big in the expression department, and subtlety has never been his thing. Torrian is a choreographer, his bread and butter is hand to hand combat, he’s so damn good he’s made people think his manual animation was mocap as early as Snake vs Sam. In a full production setting, these two would be working both TOGETHER and to their strengths, because both excel in areas where the others lack. It’s not necessarily (though some responses were 100%) an attack on someone to say the man who has been working in specifically hand to hand combat would have likely handled the hand to hand fight better than the character animator, people have strengths and while I think Artemis did great all things considered the current DB3D team lacks that key piece of the puzzle and sometimes it shows considering at one point they had a team with a full range. DevilArtemis is NOT a bad animator, he’s AMAZING, but I think there’s a valid critique in there that goes beyond Artemis’ skill itself that the current team lacks a member who knows how to make some realistic beatdowns. I’m not even necessarily saying the team lacks without Torrian specifically, what I am saying is they need someone who specializes in a similar vein to Torrian to help smooth out rough areas like hand-to-hand. In the same vein, I wouldn’t want Torrian animating Death Race, that show’s a whole lot more comedic in tone and Torrian’s character work lacks in comparison to Artemis. Neither animator is better, per say, just different. Overall, Artemis did great with the hand he was given but it is also unfair and impractical to expect miracles from an animator who’s toolset doesn’t necessarily match the style. This is absolutely not Artemis’ fault, but this episode does show a critical flaw with the DB3D at the moment which is holding them back in a sense, and that’s the fact they need someone who fills in the “melee” gap.

Honestly I'm glad to see Hercules vs Wukong get the time it deserves. I get why its being avoided by some sections of the community but it unironically is one of my favorite battles we've gotten during season 9. It was a great change of pace with sprite battles and it makes me curious if they ever do another mythology matchup.

Especially with what has been going on IRL for him. It still is a negative to the episode(s), in my opinion, I cannot and will not hold it against Artemis or DB in general. Sure they could’ve gotten someone else, but you friend needs money, work, and this is a goofy internet show. It’d be like blaming the animators for Dragon Ball Super’s early seasons looking like dog water it wasn’t their fault. I hope Artemis is doing better, genuinely.
I don’t know the exact story but I think he was stuck in a hurricane, his power kept going out while animating, his daughter caught some mystery illness, and he was almost out of a job at some point. So yeah, given what he was going through I’m surprised his episodes where anywhere near the quality they got.

Considering they’ve botched no-limits fallacies, and bastardized character and their intentions before, I *dreaded* Saitama’s name in vsbattles Yeah, real fun times when the debate was brought up Bad memories crept in when they announced this fight, long after I’ve watched and loved OPM, and made my peace with the debate. Pop-eye made it easier to handle the pregaming, since did grown up on him, and enjoyed his show a lot Cut to the premiere, I watch with bated breath to see the analyses… And… They’re perfect. They’ve done Pop-eye very well, but they did Saitama FANTASTICALLY, and the fight? I needn’t mention everything they did *right* do I? The conclusion reflected my exact mindset on how Saitama is in terms of power, and didn’t sell him short or overhype him. If Yoda-Mickey brought me back, Saitama vs Popeye made me a proud Death Battle Fan once more!

One of the main reasons I really like Thorgeta is because Thor actually feels and sounds like Thor to me, hes a little silly at points but gets serious and berrates Vegeta for not being worthy before just the hilarious headbutt scene, when I compare this with characterizations of some of my favorite characters that I hate (The second time Ganondorf was supposed to be on for an example) it just feels SO GOOD to actually see a character I love being themselves and not have either bad writing or being forced to do things they never do for the sake of...... well I don't even know lol.

People who don't get why Homelander vs Omni-man was short don't understand how a powerful opponent facing an equally powerful opponent either ends up ad a never ending fight or just as quick to end as it did to start. It's like Samurai fights: you're either to weak and die to the first cut or last just long enough to cut down the other guy. Basic fight machanics.
Idk if this will change anything for you but I highly recommend watching Jason vs Michael on a TV. I was really disappointed with the episode at first but after watching it on my TV it really shot up because I caught a lot more of the details and it really gave that slasher film feel

My Personal Best & Worst Of The Season WORST: Vegeta Vs Thor. Saying that Thor is stronger than Ultra Ego is bullshit and while the death is cool, it's just yet another Dragon Ball character getting unfairly fucked over with no competent explanation for why. Not as godawful as Goku Vs Superman, but still a pretty shitty fight that not even DBZA Vegeta could save. BEST: Trunks Vs Silver. Yes it's another loss for Dragon Ball, but unlike most of those fights it's actually well-explained and Trunks isn't made incompetent in comparison so it's not nearly as aggravating. I love the fight itself with great choreography, excellent utilization of their movesets, animation is amazing, action is top-notch, and the final blow is fucking awesome! Add onto this being one of the Sonic universe's only wins and you have a classic fight! Honorable Mention: Omni-Man Vs Homelander. A fucking amazing ending, but I really didn't care about Homelander at all since I haven't watched the show so it took a lot out of it. But it's pretty fucking hilarious how this unintentionally predicted they'd both be DLC fighters in MK1 before the announcement even happened
I agree with the take that vegito vs gogeta was just bland fight overall, especially with how they portrayed gogeta/ blank state. I mean most of his iconic moves dont work and vegito just casually steals them like his spin hands he does against broly or when he does the stardust fall and all of them just fuckin miss, he launches a ton of blast and not one goes near vegito who just goes in a straight line towards gogeta. Another annoying issue is that they made gogeta blue do the confetti Kamehameha which makes no sense, and you cant just argue that there the same character its more of a mindset that makes it feel like a shit joke, like in the broly movie when gogeta went blue he didn't hold back and wasnt pulling his punches, so much so he didn't even get hit. So for him to just randomly pullnout the confetti Kamehameha while in blue, during a fight he isnt winning just makes no sense and it's probably there for a funny reference and its weird if follows up into the meteor explosion since he didn't actually hit vegito and along with this vegito shouldn't of rised upwards since the meteor explosion acts like a deadly god bind, the whole Reason broly was in the sky was because gogeta did a backwards flip kick to launch him upwards. The ending hits between vegito doing a boring basic ass Kamehameha and gogeta for some reason being a massive idiot in this fight does the soul punisher..... which only works against evil people.....while hes fighting vegito who's made up of goku who is pure of heart so it would do nothing. Honestly they just made him do it for reference sake since its a terrible decision since he wasnt winning and he didn't need to check if vegito was a good guy so it doesn't make sense at all. The fact he flew into the Kamehameha instead of flying around it he decides to fly into the powerful attack to do a dragon fist, a move notorious for being when your opponent is wide open and cant counter attack, so being the smart fighter he is he decided to fly into the powerful attack like an idiot, this was another attempt at a reference so they could trick people into thinking that it was a good fight when in reality it was poorly done and made it so one sided for vegito it hurts. Honestly this fight just felt like vegito vs someone trying to copy gogeta donce he was so lifeless the whole time.
Some of the best stuff Death Battle has ever done, plus my least favorite episode of the series...a wild ride of a season to be sure--and you're another guy who put it at #1...all I've got is a "welp". Opinions.

Small little correction here, but the play model from Jason Vs Michael is actually Buggzy from Friday The 13th: The Game. I kinda found it charming that they used him in the animation. But other than that, yeah I’d say he was given too much screen time.
I’ve been arguing with myself for months on how I felt about Jason vs Michael, so here’s my full breakdown before I change my mind AGAIN. Jason vs Michael was my most wanted for years on end. Jason Voorhees is arguably my favorite character in all of fiction, and my recent watch of the original Halloween made me an immediate fan of Michael. I’ve brainstormed so many ideas over the years of how this fight can go, and seeing this get announced after SpongeBob vs Aquaman was the most hyped I’ve been in years. So you can imagine the crushing disappointment I felt when the episode dropped. While the analysis and conclusion were pretty great and hearing them talk about slashers was incredibly surreal, the fight really let me down. The start was solid, but nearly everything after Michael stabs Jason immediately falls flat, with incredibly janky movement, a camera that has no idea what to focus on, and action that’s far too fast paced for these characters. They should’ve been slower and more hard hitting, with Jason being noticeably stronger and tougher, and Michael being faster and smarter, but no, that’s not what we got. However I did enjoy Michael impaling Jason on the tree, with it being a good callback to the original Halloween. But then Joe Victim shows up and everything goes to shit again. Michael hits him in the back with an axe and it accomplishes nothing, which makes Michael look incredibly pathetic, and no, I don’t care if this is a DBD reference, because this moment makes Michael look completely incompetent at killing, though I do appreciate the knife stuck in the tree but Jason is gone. After another extremely brief clash and Jason kills Joe, we get the ending, which actually has a moment that, while flawed, is something I really wanted. Pamela motivating Jason to continue fighting on and seeing the light in his eyes for the first time in the fight was actually really awesome. However it also makes it look like Jason wasn’t trying at all the entire fight which makes Michael look even MORE pathetic. As a result, while the kill is pretty good, there’s no satisfaction in Michael dying. Then we get a solid sixteen seconds of Jason walking, which certainly would’ve been better used in the fight. That being said, I shall comment on something I unironically loved to death. Jason pulling a knife out of his head and decapitating Michael with it is raw as hell. It’s such a Jason Voorhees moment that showcases the one thing I adore about his character, his inability to give a damn. Unfortunately, even that can’t save the animation. However, I don’t blame DevilArtemis at all. He was going through an awful time during this episodes production, so no ill feelings towards him at all, and to the people who said they should drop the current 3D animators and back Torrian, why? So with that being said, we have a decent analysis and an alright conclusion, but an incredibly disappointing fight that barely even showcases what we all came for. This is, as much as it hurts to say it, a 4/10. But you want to know the worst part? I had a lot of stock in this episode because this was likely the last chance we would ever get to see this fight done with any kind of decently sized budget. With the film rights to Friday the 13th being held hostage and the current owners of the Halloween license out right stating they don’t want to do crossovers, fan made content is the only way to see this matchup be brought to light. Unfortunately, no disrespect intended of course, most are too low budget to do it justice, and the singular one that isn’t (Evil Emerges) focuses too much on the action aspect and not enough on the horror aspect. Death Battle was our last chance to see this done, but they too unfortunately dropped the ball. Guess I shouldn’t be surprised that anything associated with Friday the 13th would have bad luck. The reason why I think Adam v Apocalypse is so skewed is because Apocalypse basically no sells every single attack except for when Adam grabs the death seed. Being punched didn't fase him, nor did the living lightning. The yellow lantern ring did basically nothing. Even being vaporised he was still stronger than Adam who just lay there. Adam was either matching Apocalypse or getting bodied. Never was he shown to have any advantage. Which is fine, it just makes it rather uninteresting when the winner dominates so thoroughly. Personality was great, very even moments for them both to shine.

The ProZD reference was great, I actually didn't know about the Street Fighter IV inspiration, I totally agree with how Adam's indomitable will helped him shine in the fight, I wholeheartedly agree with Jason vs Michael having one of the best analysis segments, I liked how you followed through on your preference for anti climaxes at the end of your WickBond segment, the cocaine edit was funny, it was cool seeing our number 1's be the same, and while I prefer season 9 ever so slightly I totally understand your reasoning. Also nice fakeout at the end when ranking your best episodes of each season.
This was an amazing season and the longer break got me to watch a lot more of the back log I skipped. Also from watching the back log I've learned that just because I don't like/know a character doesn't mean I should skip an episode

Hey Biff, as much as you may not like talking about Herales vs Wukong i'm glad that you were still willing to give it the attention it deserves. I can understand that some people like Nem don't bring the episode up fo their own personal reasons and i won't blame or shame them for it, but with characters i was more excited to learn about then anyone else in the season as well as a fight that conveys the feeling of an ancient legend being told in a visual medium makes this one of my personal favorites of the season and i am glad to see you go a bit more in depth then most people i've seen willing to talk about the episode.
Astas' portrayal in Death battle was terrible. Black Clover is my favorite anime/manga series, so seeing it on Death Battle was exciting because the series gets very little coverage in general. After re watching the episode multiple times, I wanted to share my gripes with the episode. (1.) The analysis was definitely half assed. The team got the plot of the series right, but the majority of the analysis was so inaccurate that it was comedical. ( My favorite example of this was when the text showed notable people Asta has defeated, and they just put down Vermillion, which is a last name in the series that multiple people have and Asta has only really fought 1 person with that last ) (2.) The portrayal in the fight. Asta was portrayed as a meat head, which is far from what he is. He's a smart fighter and adapts very quickly, which was sorta seen when deku used smoke screen and Asta using his ki to find him, but it could have been implemented more. Asta unfortunately can't use telekinesis with his swords he can only call them back to him. He can't fly in his devil union form (the only way he can accomplish flight is when his swords move quickly to a high source of mana) (3.) My biggest problem from the episode was the death. I already mentioned that Asta can't use telekinesis, which already made the death not make sense, but as many said before, Asta wouldn't have bludgeoned a corpse. Asta is a sweetheart, and seeing him be made into this douche really hurts. This episode was really similar to Aang vs Ed in how the fight really botched a character. I wished the fight had an emotional ending with Asta realizing Deku had died and saved his corpse from hitting the ground. I'm sorry to anyone who had a shitty experience with the Black Clover Fandom from this episode. Nothing really excuses their behavior, but it's upsetting seeing a series you care about get covered poorly. I encourage people to read or watch Black Clover if you like battle Shonen 1. Because I love this series and 2. You'll see why I dislike this death battle episode. I hope this helps people understand the context of the episode more!
only reason as a mha fan i thought that deku vs asta was bad was because the ending felt it portrayed both characters wrongly. deku pussed out like a bitch after 1 strong punch where when he used that same move in cannon he was fighting with every single bone in his body broken and proceeded to doubly break his arm using this, he then proceeded to continue fighting and running around a massive camp for like 10m. Asta doesnt seem like the kinda dude who when knowing that deku is dead (apparently he can sense ki or some shit idk) proceeds to mutilate his dead body in a friendly tournament. the rest of the fight was enjoyable and as someone who is planning on watching on black clover but hasnt yet, i cannot comment on asta's portrayal. Can we all admit one thing Sauron vs Lich king really slapped when it didn't need too, so it being one of, if not the best this season has to offer really shows how well they can use rather obscure characters (Tbh idk how many people knew Sauron before this episode) Definitely agree with those who say it's one of the best, even if I prefer Spongebob vs Aquaman or Silver vs Trunks over it.
Sauron is not obscure at all, he’s the villain in one of the most popular film/book series of all time. The DB fanbase just didn’t know who he was because he came from media that wasn’t a shonen anime or Marvel/DC comic book.
So to explain Vegeta's line, I feel people are taking it the wrong direction. Which yeah Lani's stress in the sentence does kinda guide to the interpretation of gods in general. But he's more saying "Do gods of your type feel fear?" he was essentially attacking Thor's pride and his joyous spirit by saying he'll tear down Thor from his opulent and carefree mindset. Which he kinda did by forcing him into Warrior's Madness. But anyways, overall great video Biff and I hope to see more DB and variety content from you ahead. Love the work you put into these videos.

Spongebob's speech to Aquaman will always hype me up lol. Like when it released I was in another episode of not wanting to live anymore, so I really did empathize with Aquaman when he was literally broken. But hearing Spongebob say he knows that he's a goofball, but will still get up and say he's ready was just a literal chef's kiss of dialouge and was the exact thing I needed to hear.

I dont wish Jason vs Michael was animated by Torian, but I wish we could've gotten DevilArtemis at his best for this episode. Number 17 - Jason Voorhees vs Michael Myers. This is the most disappointing episode in the entire series hands-down. The analysis was great but it wasn't enough to carry the absolutely dire animation. Not only is there hardly any fighting, but it doesn't even focus on the characters at all unlike other DB fights that focused more on the story. Instead the fight focused on a random NPC who unsurprisingly doesn't get proper character development in a 3 minute animation. If 3 minutes is all Death Battle have the time and energy for, then they should actually keep their priorities straight and focus on what the people wanna see. Say what you want about Lex vs Doom, but at least it focused on the characters throughout the entire runtime even if the dialogue was overdone. As for the fighting itself, it's decent, but there's a lot of bad shaky cam and oddly fast animation for such slow and menacing characters. Thankfully, the death was one of the few aspects of this fight that didn't disappoint and it's definitely a standout in regards to this season's kills. Overall I don't hate, or even dislike this episode, but it's one of the few that is entirely carried by the analysis. On it's own, the animation is one of the worst post-season 1 and in my bottom 3 least favorite 3D fights, but thanks to the goated analysis this episode is a 5/10, and a slightly higher one at that. Number 16 - Boba Fett vs Predator. Despite being in the bottom two, I actually like this episode. The analysis was solid and unlike Wonder Woman vs She-Ra or Batman vs Black Panther, it actually got me interested in hearing about Boba Fett for the third time. The Predator's analysis was also solid despite the ignorance of the different clans, but if anyone is gonna notice that then it's definitely gonna be Nemesis and not me. The fight is a pretty mixed bag, but it definitely peaks at the start. The lighting isn't great, but the action itself is solid and really well choreographed. However, once Boba Fett gets his arm cut off, the fight goes drastically downhill. Despite the visual style of the fight being a lot better in my opinion, the ending in the burning forest sucks balls. Fett and Predator are really out of character, the combat is janky and confusing, the infrared effects hurt my eyes, and Boba Fett tanking the Self Destruct like he's Omniman felt about as off-putting as him saying fuck. Overall this episode was decent, but it was easily one of the weakest of the season and didn't even top Boba Fett vs Samus Remastered. 6.5/10. Number 15 - Deku vs Asta is also decent, but the fact that two out of the three episodes in my bottom three are actually good is nice to see. The analysis is alright for both characters and similarly to Boba Fett vs Predator, the definitely varies in quality. It starts off pretty solid, but once Deku brings out the black whip we get a super repetitive scene that is pretty much just Deku spamming the same attack over and over again. Luckily we get the funny Detroit line immediately after and the really get final battle. Unfortunately the negatives don't go away at this point since the death hardly has any impact. But at the same time the positives don't go away either since we get the awesome Hercule cameo at the end. I wish more Death Battle episodes connected to each other like that. Overall this episode varied a lot in quality but I still enjoyed it. 6.5/10 Number 14 - Scarlet Witch vs Zatanna is a good episode, but I don't feel very strongly about it at all really. The analysis was decent and the animation was really good, but it's mainly style over substance. The visuals are top notch all throughout, but in terms of what happens it's just kinda alright. There wasn't really much fighting or stuff going on since we get a fairly basic start, then a scene of other way less interesting characters fighting instead, then they grow to a cosmic scale and Wanda flips out pretty out of nowhere which takes up pretty much the entire rest of the animation until the death. The animation was still good, but it could've been a lot better and it definitely was kinda forgotten in the rest of the season. 7/10. Number 13 - Excalibur vs Raiden is a damn good episode and once again, I can't believe an episode this good ended up in the bottom five. The analysis is easily one of the most unique and interesting in the whole show and it definitely made this standout as an experimental bonus episode. Not only does the Wiz and Boomstick plot set this up perfectly as being a bonus episode, but it was also just super entertaining and took what could've been a soulless sponsored episode into something truly special. The fight doesn't go quite as hard as the analysis and the choreography is mostly just blind swinging, but it's still really cool and a way better example of how talented DevilArtemis is than Jason vs Michael. In any other season this would've been a lot higher, but season 9 is not just any other season. 7.5/10 Number 12-7 - All of the 8/10 episodes. These were so hard for me to rank that I'm not even gonna bother in this comment of all things. One day I plan on doing a whole entire video ranking these episodes and hopefully I'll have a more accurate ranking of all 6 of the 8's this season. For now I'll just go through them chronologically since I like them all about the same, they all excel in different ways, and they could genuinely go either way. Jonathan vs Tanjiro is a great episode. The analysis was good overall, but what really stood out was the fight. Not only are the visuals stunning in pretty much every single way. But the writing, voice acting, and choreography are all top notch as well. Magneto vs Tetsuo isn't one of the greatest episodes in the series like a lot of people say in my opinion, but it's still truly amazing. Although Magneto's analysis is weirdly short, it was still great and Tetsuo's was surprisingly even better despite me having way more investment in Marvel. The fight takes a bit to truly get going, but once it does it really excels in basically every way. The ending especially goes hard in terms of character moments. Hercules vs Sun Wukong was definitely the most unexpected episode of this season. When it was first announced I genuinely had no idea what it was, but after hearing that it was Death Battle's first mythology episode I immediately became interested. Then the episode came out and it was fantastic. Similar to Magneto vs Tetsuo it didn't have peaks that quite as strong as the top spots, but it was just really consistent all throughout and hardly ever had any really low points. The analysis is really fun and informative and the fight is amazing with one of the most unique visual styles in the show. The death isn't really that great, but this is still a banger episode. James Bond vs John Wick is a really interesting one for me. Despite having the worst animation quality of the season, it had quite possibly the best analysis aside from my number one pick for the season. The analysis was honestly one of my favorites of the entire series, since I always love hearing about characters who aren't the millionth comic book or anime character to be featured on Death Battle. The fight unfortunately feels really cheap in the visuals department compared to the rest of the season, especially compared to the three episodes that came directly after it. It's not Rewind Rumble levels of inconsistency between episodes, but it's kinda awkward when we go from Harley vs Jinx and Sauron vs Lich King to something that looks like it came from season 2 or 3. But in terms of what actually happens it continues this episode's amazing level of quality. This episode and this season in general were definitely when the Blender team finally got martial arts down, because the action in this episode is really good especially towards the end. Despite the mediocre visuals, there's hardly any jank in the actual animation surprisingly. On top of that, Liam not only did a masterful job writing the analysis but he also did for the fight. Overall this episode definitely has the worst fight of 8/10's, but ironically it has the best analysis by a mile. Black Adam vs Apocalypse was easily one of my most wanted Marvel vs DC fights and the episode we got was great. The analysis was solid all around, especially for Apocalypse, and the fight was absolutely amazing. There were some parts where Black Adam felt kinda pathetic, but aside from that it's full of amazing moments, some of the best looking animation in the series, and one of the best tracks in all of Death Battle. My favorite scene would definitely be Giant Apocalypse and the death is campy in the best way possible. Silver vs Trunks also grew on me a ton. When it first came out I thought it was good but overrated and even though I still think it's a bit overrated, it's still an awesome episode. Despite having possibly my favorite fight out of all the 8's, it actually had my least favorite analysis, so I guess it's kinda like the inverse of Bond vs Wick. I still like the analysis, but it's nothing special compared to the other five bangers that it's around. The fight meanwhile is phenomenal. Similar to Bond vs Wick and Magneto vs Tetsuo, it takes a bit to truly get going but once it does it absolutely goes hard. The fight is visually stunning and has some of the best shots of any sprite episode. Pretty much everything that happened in space was top-tier Death Battle content and the ending looks absolutely amazing. If the analysis matched up to all of the best episodes of this season, then it could've easily gotten a 9/10, but like the five that came before it, it's still a pretty high 8/10.
6. Vegeta vs Thor is an amazing episode that's only gotten better as time has went on. The analysis was easily the best for both characters and the fight is absolutely fantastic. It gets off to a slow start, but once Vegeta goes blue it gets going with some super fast paced action and memorable moments. Any major criticism I would've had with Vegeta dominating Thor was completely obliterated once Thor went Warrior's Madness and gave one of the best comeback's in the whole show. We get a super exhilarating clash and then Thor tanks Vegeta's amazing Final Flash and gives the rawest hand drawn shot in the show, followed by a great death. This episode may not be the greatest episode of the season like a lot of people say, but it's still a strong contender. 9/10 5. Harley vs Jinx is honestly really underrated since I rarely see people hype it up compared to others in season 9 despite it being an amazing episode. The analysis is good, but what really makes this episode stand out is the absolutely incredible fight scene. Not only are the visuals the best of any 3D episode along with Sauron vs Lich King, but in terms of what actually happens it's also amazing, especially towards the end. Overall this is easily my third favorite premiere and the best female episode in the show hands-down. 9/10 4. Omniman vs Homelander surprised me. This matchup was pretty much the entire community's punching bag for a while, but then it came out and proved pretty much everyone wrong. Once again this season really excels with the analysis and it excels even further with the fight. This fight is short and similar to Jason vs Michael focuses more on the story and less on the action, but unlike that one we actually get to see Omniman and Homelander's character instead of focusing on a random bystander. In terms of showing both of their personalities this episode did a flawless job and managed to get me super invested in the animation in pretty much every way. The music is great, the voice acting is easily some of the top 3 best in the entire show, and so is the death. The death goes unreasonably hard and it is one of the greatest scenes in all of Death Battle. Overall this was a really short fight, but it made sure that those three minutes were the best three minutes that they could possibly be. 10/10 3. Vegito vs Gogeta is the most underappreciated episode in the entire series. Never in my life have I felt like I was watching a completely different episode than with this one. I know I'm not gonna make any friends by putting this episode above Magneto vs Tetsuo, Silver vs Trunks, or even Omniman vs Homelander, but in my true unbiased opinion, this episode was an amazing way to end the season and one of my favorites in Death Battle history. The analysis was honestly a ton of fun and I never found it boring whatsoever. The fight on the other hand really doesn't get the love it deserves. With very rare exceptions, almost everyone I've seen online thinks this is one of the most generic and lame fights in the series. Personally, I thought it was one of the most exhilarating and fast paced fights in the series. On top of that it has visuals to easily rival the better 3D fights in the season. However the best thing about this episode and the main reason why it's in the top 3 is the track. Dragon Dance is my new favorite track in all of Death Battle and gives a bigger adrenaline rush than pretty much anything in the entire show. Overall this episode is a prime example of this season's greatest strength. They took initially boring or predictable matchups and made them into absolute masterpieces. 10/10. 2. Sauron vs Lich King is the blender team's best episode by far and a perfect episode in pretty much every way. The analysis is just as good as, if not better than Wick vs Bond and unlike that episode, this one's fight is a visual masterpiece. This has the best animation quality of any 3D fight in the show along with the best cinematography and shot composition, easily one of the most cinematic episodes in the show thanks to the breathtaking track. The voice acting also rivals Omniman vs Homelander with how truly amazing it was and the action has a ton of impact with the sound design. The ending consistently has some of the greatest shots in all of Death Battle and the use of color is amazing. When this episode first came out I gave it a 9/10, but looking back, I don't even think that does it justice because this is a flawless 10/10 and one of my top 15 favorites episodes in all of Death Battle. 1. Spongebob vs Aquaman lived up to the hype and blew it out of the water. Going in, I was hoping this would top Omniman vs Homelander and become my new favorite episode of the season and I got exactly what a wanted. The analysis is rivaled only by Saitama vs Popeye and Deadpool vs The Mask as my favorite in the entire show. The comedy is on-point and pretty much all of Wiz and Boomstick's lines are absolute gold. The fight is also just as funny and is pretty much everything I could've wanted from this. The visuals are beautiful, the voice acting is great, the action is a ton of fun, Liam once again demonstrates his amazing abilities as a writer with the funniest script in the whole show, literally everything about this episode is perfect. My favorite gag would definitely be the hyper-realistic Aquaman face and the ending goes surprisingly hard. Not only was this episode a masterpiece, the second best sprite fight in the series, and one of my top ten favorites of all time, but it also revived my love for the show after I hadn't given much of a shit about it in months. Even though my enthusiasm has definitely fallen off over the past few months, hopefully Ant-Man vs Atom can bring me back to being absolutely head over heels for this show over anything else on RU-vid. 10/10
Just as a bonus here's my ranking of the worst episodes of each season 9. Jason vs Michael (The animation would've gotten this lower on the list, but thanks to the great analysis, it's up here) 5/10 8. Raven vs Twilight Sparkle (Not a bad episode, but I guess it's my equivalent of Vegito vs Gogeta to you since it felt like it was made to be the most emotionless and dull experience for me possible) 5/10 7. Macho Man vs Kool-Aid Man (A fun analysis and fight dragged down a ton by the Boomstick's Dad subplot. I hate to say it, but this episode sucks) 4.5/10 6. Aang vs Edward Elric (The fight is decent, but at the end of the day it's a very basic fight that's weighed down by the horrible writing in both the analysis and fight) 4.5/10 5. Venom vs Bane (The gap in quality between this and the four before it is absolutely massive, because I despise this episode. Venom's analysis is meh, but Bane's actually peaked me interest a bit. It's a shame that the episode has one of the worst 2D fights in the entire series with the constant blur effects, slow moments, and awful editing) 2.5/10 4. Batgirl vs Spider-Gwen (This episode is absolutely not better than Thanos vs Darkseid. Funnily enough this was basically on the same level of quality as Venom vs Bane. Batgirl's analysis was about as generic capeshit as you can get, Spider-Gwen's was actually pretty solid, and the fight is horrendous and devoid of anything) 2.5/10 3. Gaara vs Toph (Even without the controversial outcome and terrible research, this episode is still atrocious. The analysis is dull and the fight is one of the most boring things I've ever seen in my life) 2/10 2. Shadow vs Mewtwo (An absolute insult of an episode that was literally made bad on purpose) 1/10 1. Justin Bieber vs Rebecca Black (Somehow the shittiest season 1 episode in terms of quality on top of pretty much just being two 20 year old men bullying two teenagers as an awful attempt at jumping on trends. The only versus episodes in existence that are worse than this are those 40 minute long fan collab war episodes from CFC) 0/10 Now here's the best list. All of them are a 10/10. 9. Samurai Jack vs Afro Samurai (It feels really weird having this episode in dead last because it is easily one of my top 15 favorite episodes in the series with an analysis that I genuinely love on top of one of the greatest versus animations ever by Luis) 8. All-Might vs Might Guy (For some reason Death Battle decided to cram the four best episodes of season 6 right at the very end and they are progressively got better and better. So naturally this one is my favorite. What an amazing finale in pretty much every single way) 7. Winter Soldier vs Red Hood (Underrated as fuck. Although it definitely has the weakest analysis of the nine, I still enjoy it a lot and it still easily gets this position because of the fight. This episode's fight is a masterpiece and genuinely one of the greatest things that Death Battle had produced in years. Every episode from this point and onwards is in my top 10 favorites ever) 6. Goku vs Superman (Despite season 1 being a terrible season, they at least managed to end it off with an incredible episode that still holds up to this very day and surpasses the vast majority of modern episodes) 5. Spongebob vs Aquaman (Already talked about it, but it's an episode that is pretty much made for me to love it) 4. Balrog vs TJ Combo (One of Torrian's greatest fight scenes of all time) 3. Ironman vs Lex Luthor (An absolute classic of Death Battle is matched by almost nothing else in the series nowadays. You couldn't have an episode that has such a fleshed-out story on top of amazing action in a three minute fight) 2. Hulk vs Doomsday (This one is so high partially because of nostalgia bias and sentimental value, but putting all of that aside it is still an godlike episode. The analysis is great and the fight just feels perfect, especially towards the end) 1. Saitama vs Popeye (Death Battle's magnum opus. Fuck Galactus vs Unicron and Master Chief vs Samus, this was the greatest way that they could've possibly ended season 8)

Honestly, I'm so happy to return to Death Battle when watching season 9, with Thor vs Vegeta being what brought me back and hooked me invest into loving Death Battle again. Because the younger me usually didn't want to watch the full seasons due to not knowing the characters in matchups, but now I'm all in. I sadly fully stopped watching Death Battle and keeping track of it during season 7 to focus on school, and it was when the battles weren't doing it for me. Causing me to miss the majority of season 8, which I will watch eventually. But yeah, I really do kind of want to binge-watch all of Death Battle again as I'm hyped for season 10. Along with praying that my top wish Death Battle would come true in Makoto Niijima from Persona 5 vs Tifa Lockheart from FF7. But no matter, I look forward to the future of Death Battle with how awesome season 9 was and from how awesome season 8 was
so like, the thing about deku not breaking his bones so much, it's sorta just what mha became, he still struggles with keeping control of his quirks, but both because he got stronger and better with all for one, and because it'd get boring if he never learnt (especially since he started damaging his ligaments), it stopped being because of him breaking his bones as much, especially after he developed his shoot style. this is also probably why he went straight from one hundred to one million percent, as one million percent is just a symbolic thing about how much he's trying, and if he's at the point of willing to start breaking his bones again, he's definitely giving it his all.
