Just trying to imagine being in Kade's shoes, and I find my heart beat in my neck thumpin away.. And I'm just sitting at my PC..This guys pace is insane..
After 8 minutes of watching someone just sit there and turtle breakdance hoping for an exposed leg, it was satisfying seeing that armbar Way more exciting seeing the Roberto Jimenez and onward
The truth is only experience can fix this. No matter what higher belts will explain, no matter how they will try to help, you will only overcome this problem through couple of years of training and gaining knowledge and experience. Patience is key
This run will only get more legendary over time. None of those matches were a gimme. He's on a whole nother level and it showed. When it was crunch time, that dude found subs 4/4 times. Against the highest level guys in the world. Insanity to have that much skill at his age
I love Lachlan but come on... he never had it. His legs were all over the place and Kade controlled the hands right away. It was a great threat but no way that was breaking anything
Announncers talking like Giles going to be taking Ruotolo to school on the leg game when in reality the then boy put himself in imminent danger at Giles's own game to chase the sub. This is the shit I love about bjj and big respect to both of these amazing dudes
Kind of annoying that the announcers are referencing Kade AND Tye in that first match. “They” do this well. I only see one of them out there, why not just talk about him?
Noticed that but I believe it was in reference to a team strategy because the announcers start saying he and him shortly after that. Doubt the BJJ/Martial Arts community is feeding into the pronoun community. Ain’t nobody trying to see a dude run through a female division and feel good about it.
Call me old school, but sitting down to start a fight is not the way to go. I started jits in 96 and I specifically remember Relson Gracie ask, do you pull guard on the street? Do you butt scoot on the street? We don’t do that here. I wrestled in elementary, jr high so I did have take downs already in my library of moves to use. I’m just not a fan of this new school jits of sitting and butt scooting. I realize the difference between self defense and sport Jits. Just not a fan of scratching your ass across the mats.
It's extremely annoying and I think the explosion of the leglock game has made it worse since most real takedowns don't give you an obvious opening for leg attacks the way that playing guard does. There needs to be more rulesets that penalize pulling guard if they ever want bjj to be a draw for spectators who aren't competitors themselves.
Not to mention fighting from the bottom while inverted. Suicide in a fight. (Helio Gracie is no doubt turning over in his grave). This is similar to the old Pride days when Sakuraba was subbing everyone until they changed the rules to allow kicks to the head while the opponent was down. Then everyone started field-goaling his face.
So to counter a sit down guy, why not just sit down with him? Take his advantage away. Thoughts? I'm ignorant to this sport altogether, but I find it interesting and I respect it.
@@TheMBROO Some people definitely do that. If you're more confident playing guard than trying to pass your opponent's guard, that could be the way to go. Depends on your skillset. A lot of the time though both people sitting down will result in either a scramble or both people going for leglocks.
Because his entire game (from this position, anyways) is based on a contrived environment where your opponent is not allowed to kick you in the face while you lay inverted on the floor. Absurd strategy in a real fight.
The amount of ignorance in these comments is asinine! Give me any combat sport and I will tell you where it would lack for self defense when looking at it in its sportive context. This is a grappling competition not a self defense showcase. If you want that go watch a aikido demonstration 😂
Love a relaxed training environment but that gym is a total mess... Disco lights, flower power gis, people passing by in the mat during training.. jesus.
Lets hear it for the least entertaining or functionally factually accurate JJ commentary, charge for what? The only value is foootage...😅 forefathers are proud
This is why bjj is not practical in the street. They would just get kicked in the head by another guy. Without striking there is nothing to punish someone from laying on their back. Hard to watch.
BJJ is getting worse and worse. This style of grappling is the reason, the cause, why wrestling fighters (see Dagestan), are dominating and will dominate MMA for decades. Rickson Gracie says it all the time, but BJJ is now becoming like karate. God saves BJJ
